NBA 2K16 News Post

NBA 2K16 patch 1.02 is available now for PlayStation 4, weighing in at 2.2GB. Xbox One users will have to wait a little longer, but no estimated time or date has been given.

The patch should fix the Pro-Am connection issues, but no other details have been given.

Until we get patch notes, scheduled to be released soon, feel free to let us know what you are seeing.

LD2K mentions to say goodbye to DemiGods and hi to Pro-Am arenas.

UPDATE: Patch notes have arrived.

GENERAL
  • Resolved a rare case where the game would hang when entering/exiting the Tattoo editor when customizing the tattoos on your MyPLAYER.
  • Addressed an issue on the main menu where the title would freeze for a period of time before proceeding to the selected action (e.g. loading a MyCAREER save).
  • Tuned player sweat so that its effects are much more visible when playing longer quarter lengths.
  • Players will no longer slide/skate when pressing the block button during an inbound state. It was funny while it lasted.
  • Tuned crowd excitement and intensity on made buzzer beaters.
  • Resolved a case where certain players (e.g. Kristaps Porzingis) would have their hairstyle change slightly when zooming in the camera very close in replay.
MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
  • Pro-Am Team Play has been added to the game! You can now play as a full team in your custom-built arenas.
  • Addressed a number of matchmaking issues that inhibited users from playing in Pro-Am Walk-On games.
  • Fixed an issue where your player would sometimes appear with the incorrect height (if you had more than one MyCAREER save file) when entering MyPARK/Pro-Am from within MyCAREER.
  • Fixed a rare case where the ball would get stuck in the High Roller courts, thus preventing a game from concluding.
  • Improved voice chat support in both MyPARK and 2K Pro-Am.
  • Improved the animation of the skateboard in MyPARK. If you don’t have this, get it. You can move between courts faster than those that are on-foot!
  • 2K Beats will now continue to play after finishing a game in MyPARK.
MyCAREER/MyCOURT
  • Fixed an issue where some users were unable to join their friends’ MyCOURTs.
  • Fixed an issue where the host user was unable to send MyCOURT invites after leaving MyPARK/Pro-Am with a squad.
  • Addressed a number of issues with Accolades not unlocking at the appropriate time within MyCAREER.
  • Pressing the back button will no longer cause the game to hang from the MyCAREER NEXT menu after being eliminated from the playoffs.
MyGM/MyLEAGUE
  • Numerous tuning and code enhancements to improve simulated player stats.
  • Playoff games (within a series) can no longer be played out of order in MyLEAGUE Online.
  • Found and fixed a case where visiting certain submenus with no head coach would cause the game to hang.
  • Fans of relocated/rebranded teams will no longer hold up signs referencing the previous identity of the team.
  • Fixed a rare hang that could occur when the ticker referenced a previous game result where all of the players on the team have since been traded.
  • Selecting to load a custom draft class will no longer cause a game hang in the MyGM offseason if you had previously been fired during that same offseason.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves.

The majority of the people who buy the game don't care about sweat TBH

2k attempted to fix it because of the feedback here, and something went wrong..

Something obviously went wrong, it happens...and it sucks sometimes.

They didn't put it in the patch notes so they could log into the forums and laugh at how dissapointed some of you are. I'm 99.9% sure of that.

Let's put on our big boy pants, let them know it is still broken and go from there.

Please quote me saying that the game is broken!

Why don't you just stop trolling and mind your own business?

For some reason playing in the custom arena just feels much more sim than playing in the generic pro am courts . Pace also feels better

That's exactly what I or other users did. If it hadn't been for the average forum trolls, this would have been less of an issue.

Did you read all your posts about sweat? Sounds like a little kid not getting the toy he wants at the toy store.

And I'm not talking about you specifically. Everyone that is complaining about sweat and saying "this is ridiculous", etc is being ridiculous.

Other than cut scenes when have you noticed sweat?

You guys are being so ridiculous but hilarious to read how upset you all are.

You guys do know that just because they "fixed it" doesn't mean that something else can trigger the code from not working the way it was supposed to.

It's not a simple 2+2=4 equation.

First, two people in the Sweat Brigade have said either the game is "broken" or that they've "lost" and is "arcade". The sweat posts have been consistent across multiple pages with the same subset of posters - you included. The "trolls" have only recently come into the discussion because you guys have continued to harp on it when it's pretty clear by now it is not to your liking. I'm no mod, but in my opinion it's time to move on. You've gone far beyond the call of duty here. There are some MUCH bigger fish in this patch that need confirmation!

The people that don't want anyone to mention it keep bringing it up. Seems counter productive

Your comment is full of ignorance and paradox. 2K released the patch notes stating that the sweat issue was resolved via the 1.02 patch – which is wrong. And you come up with technical informations and I don't care about at all. Did you ever consider the fact that a patch should get tested before uploading it in the first place? You kind of put the saddle on the wrong horse.

Some people should learn how to read and understand what they've just read. I was accused of saying that the game is broken because I mentioned that the sweat issue is still existing. I never said the game is broken. I would never say that because it's totally untrue. Reading and understanding – that seems to be a huge issue for certain people nowadays.

You suck! I bought 60$ for the game and i expect it to work properly. I wanna see the sweat period!

# 211 The 24th Letter @ 10/14/15 09:39 AM
No amount of testing can guarantee that things will work once it goes "live"....that's just reality.

One thing I've learned since joining OS is that everyone has a niche. I used to scratch my head at the angry sock posts but I get that everyone has a thing. Some things (like this) take a minute for me to comprehend, but in the end I get it.

It's just the overdramatic posts that kill me....that's all......I hope you guys get every drop of sweat you desire....just dial it down some, lol

LOL. You must know how coding works.

Can you tell me how many games have released patches that have come out to be 100% perfect after the patch?

Was Madden a perfect game after they released their patch? Was 2k15 perfect after they released their multiple patches?

LOL. But keep huffing and puffing. My daughter throws tantrums all the time.

Well, you can't complain when you get confused with other posters that are echoing and harping on the same thing you are, but you're one of the more vocal and active of the bunch at that time. Then you become the de facto "leader" of that discussion and comments by others get attached to you. It happens. So lets move on.

It's a fluff feature that is not tuned properly for long quarters. Broken it is not as you see it just fine in normal played games. People want it addressed, but hijacking this thread and calling the game broken because of it is going overboard. And THAT is what people are calling out.

Is it really so hard to understand what this is all about? 2K stated to have fixed the problem, but it's still present and nothing at all has changed. It can't be that hard to understand. And it doesn't matter whether this is a major or minor issue. I criticize them for stating something, but eventually the same issue still exists. Apparently they didn't test the whole thing properly before uploading it. If you find that okay, it's your decision. It's definitely not mine.
Sorry, but guys like you miss the point completely. Therefore it just doesn't make sense to continue this one-sided "discussion" at all. It rather feels like a monologue than an average conversation.

# 215 Goffs @ 10/14/15 09:53 AM
I'm not as dramatic as calling the game broken as it's playable but jeez this is like the sweatband accessories argument. It adds to the game and people here really getting mad at other posters for calling out 2k because let me post this again.

It's a valid complaint but I'm not much of a drama queen like Lagoa...who is like THIS EVERY YEAR with 2k btw

So deal with it guys there will be more complaints about sweat lacking coming for those who didn't bother reading the whole thread.

OH. MY. GOD.

This board amazes me everyday man. Seriously, I give it up to you guys. I've resigned myself to believing that I'm a biased 2K fanboy, because I A) Genuinely don't see or B) Genuinely don't care about 75% of the things you guys crusade for.

Anyway, back to the very few things that DO work right with this broken game. Myself and a few other supporters ran 5's with relative ease last night. (5 or 6 L's, no bueno) But it was nice to see everything up and running correctly, only had 2 instances in which I timed out once the game started, but as one of our members says, I have the worst internet on OS.

Was pleasantly surprised that you can actually call plays on offense, both sideline and while bringing it up court. Beautiful.

Sucks that only the PG can call them, since we ran a game in which the CPU guy ran point and shifted me down to the 2 for whatever reason.

*Iverson voice* We talkin' bout sweat, not a game, not a game, but sweat...

I would give this game a rating of best ever if it wasn't for this damn sweat issue ruining my life...have at it boys.

lol Like I tell my daughter, You can't throw a tantrum and expect to get what you want.

You know the reason why I first posted in this thread was because for the past 2-3 days I've been constantly checking to see if actual issues were being fixed with the patch(gameplay, pro-am, etc)

Instead of reading posts about the fixes, all I see is complaints about sweat. SMDH.

We get it. We truly F'n get it. They didn't fix the sweat issue. The game (to you) is broken. It's not simulation when you can't see the sweat drip off their heads. But do you really think constantly complaining in a thread will make 2K jump out of there seats and start working on another patch?

We want SWEAT!!We want SWEAT!! That's what i have been waiting to get fixed and it's not. It's one of the most realistic feature that has been missing from 2k for a long time. 2k15 didn't have much sweat, and now that we have it done properly it doesn't work for more than 6min quarters .
