Move Griffin up to 8, swap Melo for Kawhi Leonard and make 10 debatable between Aldridge/Duncan/George and a fwe others and we have a realistic list.

"I'm definitely going to take it personally. I said I'd be pissed off about it and I am. I just felt disrespected because I play the game the right way, I play unselfishly, I play for my team to win games and I produce at a high level. I think what I bring to the game as a person, my make up mentally, how I am towards my teammates, how I am towards the media, how I am towards the fans, what a Top 10 player represents in this league, what you would want people looking at in a Top 10 player , I think I make up all those things.

For me to be having the type of season i'm having, better than any I've had before, and for my team to be third in the Western Conference, I just see it as disrespectful. I'm not one of those guys who's going to say, 'I should be over this guy or that guy.' I'm not a *****. I have respect for each guy who made the roster, and they deserve to, but at the same time, I feel really disrespected, man. That's honestly how I feel."

Not knocking his rating but I just don't think of Aldridge when I think top ten players in the league right now.

Is Dame even a top 15 player? I guess he probably is, but he needs to put some effort on the other side of the court.

Cue Rashidi turning into the hulk.

LeBron's current Cavaliers player model looks pretty much perfect. Now it remains to be seen if the same can be said for the 2007 Cavaliers and 2013 Heat player models.

List looks about right. until KD returns back to his 93/94 form at least. Curious as to what type of seasons the higher 80s would have to have to enter the 90s.(blake,melo,Aldridge, West, etc.)

Here's a better question:

Who will be out of these top 10 by year's end and who will they be replaced by ??

I think KD and AD are due for a raise, LMA and Melo will drop out of the Top 10 and be replaced by Paul George And Demarcus. In LMA's case I think his scoring will go way down not because he regressed but because he is a Spur. Melo will get hurt I feel.

respect. I disagree. I feel Aldridge will fall out of the top ten by playing team spurs ball but i see melo actually moving up in rating since he has to show the league he is still elite so that a team will want to trade for him and his contract regardless of his teams record. I think this is the year cousins gets his team winning to support his stats. PG i just dont know about him being moved to PF, he isnt like lebron or melo or unguardable because of his height like KD. Lillard could also have a high usage rate this year and wouldnt be surprised if he had numbers like 26 7 and 6 which would probably grant him top ten access as well

People always seem to forget defensive ratings have a big impact on overall.

Bearing in mind that OVR is skewed in favor of PGs and nerfs bigs, my Top 10 from 2K15

95 (+5) Chris Paul (LAC, 26.0 PER)
94 (-1) Stephen Curry (GSW, 28.0 PER)
94 (-2) LeBron James (CLE, 25.9 PER)
91 (-3) Anthony Davis (NOP, 30.8 PER)
91 (-3) Russell Westbrook (OKC, 29.1 PER)
91 (-3) Kevin Durant (OKC, 27.6 PER)
91 (+5) Kawhi Leonard (SAS, 22.0 PER)
90 (+3) John Wall (WAS, 19.9 PER)
89 (-5) James Harden (HOU, 26.7 PER)
89 (+1) Kyrie Irving (CLE, 21.5 PER)

If I took that and gave +2 OVR to each PF/C and -2 to each PG
94/SF LeBron James (CLE, 25.9 PER)
93/PF Anthony Davis (NOP, 30.8 PER)
93/PG Chris Paul (LAC, 26.0 PER)
92/PG Stephen Curry (GSW, 28.0 PER)
91/SF Kevin Durant (OKC, 27.6 PER)
91/SF Kawhi Leonard (SAS, 22.0 PER)
90/C DeMarcus Cousins (SAC, 25.2 PER)
90/C DeAndre Jordan (LAC, 21.0 PER)
89/PG Russell Westbrook (OKC, 29.1 PER)
89/SG James Harden (HOU, 26.7 PER)

I don't have much of a problem with 2K's top 10. Melo is overrated trash (esp compared to Kawhi) and always has been, but what can you do.

Given that we're only talking about the top 1-3 at each position and that these are the ones 2K spends the most time fine tuning, there really shouldn't be any problems here as far as "rankings" go. It's the next 50 players at each position that are the problem.

I kind of like that the single OVR formula seems to overvalue offensive ability, just as teams do in real life.

See Melo's presence here, and the absence of any true center.

If you put any stock in Wins Produced/48, which attempts to measure the marginal value of specific events, and, unlike a lot of stats like PER, actually accounts for shooting efficiency, DeAndre Jordan led the league last year, followed by Steph Curry and CP3. You could certainly make a case that DeAndre is one of the 10 best players in the NBA.

If you go back and look at WP/48 over the past decade or so, it generally tracks well with who we think of as having been the best players in a given year, but it always serves up some interesting surprises.

What will be interesting is if, in spite of not having a top-10 OVR, he could make just as valuable a contribution to your roster in 2k16. If so, that leads to some exciting chances to find hidden value in players with the right skills, just like in real life.

I see Harden,Westbrook, Durant,Paul, and Davis being better than Curry. Just my opinion!

The problem there is the OVR is much more important for the AI's decision-making than it is to any human-based ones. The AI does not have the freedom to find hidden gems, which will lead to offense-only lineups and ineffectively built rosters.

Modern NBA teams caught onto the Bruce Bowen type long ago (and why such players are necessary alongside great offensive players) and it's inexcusable for 2K not to keep pace with the line of thinking.

You won't see this all in a league-wide top 10 list. It becomes rather evident the further down you go. Danny Green isn't even a top 20 SG while Kobe Bryant is top 5 (etc).

I feel you shouldn't be considered a top 10 player if your team only won 17 games last season.
That's just my crazy belief thou.
