Didn't actually think it was funny. Just pointing out the classic move of burying news on a Friday afternoon, as you said.

It's actually the community manager, not a dev. Absolutely no difference for this news, but just for clarification's sake.

I think it is WWE not 2K. As I was reading in that thread that Smash posted. I think 2K was ready to put at the least Sasha and Charlotte in the game. With Sasha getting scanned earlier and Charlotte's in the earlier build. But I think for some reason, which I have no ****ing clue why, the WWE decided to tell 2K they can't put the women in the game.

Oh I agree and to answer your question, because the officials at WWE are stupid.

I mean, it is entirely possible that the NXT Divas were prioritized as low as possible in the content pipeline, and thus even though 2K may have the captured textures they need to put these characters in the game, those textures may not be mapped to 3D meshes, and the animations for these characters' entrances / winning poses / taunts / signature moves may not yet exist.

At the same time - regardless the explanation, the fact that four of the most admired wrestlers in the company (amongst the internet wrestling community specifically, obviously not amongst the entirety of the "WWE Universe") is entirely disappointing.

I'm not sure I agree with the "WWE holding these characters back intentionally angle", given how hard WWE has pushed the Divas Revolution the past few months. I certainly wouldn't put it past them to do something so inconsistent, but it is just that - inconsistent.

The "Divas Revolution" began two months ago, while the roster has been in place for much earlier than that. The WWE withholds talent from the game all the time, so them doing so to try and make money off the girls next year - yeah, it makes no sense to me either - is completely possible.

I dont really care for the Divas but i thought the 4 horsewomen ( i hate that name by the way, they need to be more original) should have been in there. Its sad cause i see the huge fan base the divas have now.

And they said they will not be dlc, so that means there's no chance we will see them in the game. So it's gonna be a no buy for me. But hey at least they got Eva Marie in right and 9000 Stephanie's and Stings. Smh

Maybe the executive decision from WWE came from Cena.

I applaud 2K for being forward and making a statement, i would like to know the reasoning behind it because it shouldn't have nothing to do with the timing of their appearance on NXT or RAW/SD because Corbin, Owens and Hideo have debuted within the last few months after the ladies, it might be a red herring and i am holding hope that Sasha and Charlotte make it but if not its not the end of the world

I hate people saying "at least Eva Marie is in". She was always going to be in, with the way Total Divas is pushed, she definitely was a lock.

Sasha and Charlotte AREN'T going to be in the game...a dev confirmed it in that 2K thread.

I posted the image from 2K about Sasha being scanned and how that means jack****. And on Charlotte's shirt. 1. it was from an earlier build and 2. that 2K wanted at least Charlotte and Sasha in the game but for some reason couldn't do it.

That's really surprising. I thought they would have been DLC since they weren't going to be on the roster that shipped. Wonder why 2k didn't put them in the game?

A terrible announcement. As a fan who discovered and began loving pro wrestling during the Attitude Era and Monday Night War, this game is far too focused on Stone Cold and that time when it should've been fully focused on the NXT Brand. Nothing has brought more attention to pro wrestling in ten years than NXT and it's basically being promoted as "just another brand" in this game and that'll be this game's downfall unfortunately. I'll also be one of the fans who will cancel my preorder (Because The Terminator...really?) and grab this around Black Friday for cheaper.

I also would like to commend 2K for coming out and being honest
about it instead of remaining silent and trying to get more sales.

I personally don't watch womens wrestling or use the divas at all
but you can really see that demographic growing and I feel bad for
the fans that do.

Reading between the lines you can tell it was definitely a WWE call
and I have a feeling it's the same reasoning as to why Los Matadors
isn't in.

Wild guess but I wonder if it has something to do with their contracts.
Maybe there is a clause in their contracts that if they are in a video game
right now they will get a bonus and WWE is trying to nix that.

Oh ok was not aware of that, i think the roster is pretty damn good next year the on disc roster needs to be tied to just the active roster and tie legends to DLC

Such a disappointment. Absolutely ridiculous on not having them in the game.

Here's to hoping 2K and VC didn't remove their moves from the game, and that the create a diva feature allows us to replicate the missing wrestlers.

Why are throwaway characters from DLC last year on the roster over Important Superstars, WWE?

Because VINCE and the big wigs at WWE don't think they are important.

DLC characters from last year are probably just basically being ported over from 2k15. There was no need to remove them and including them in 2k16 doesn't really affect the budget.

Besides, wanted or not, more characters is always better than less characters. Especially when the characters already have models and mocapped moves/entraces. I hope 2k continues to do this.
