Thanks for the answer.

Ugh!! Why?!? Who thought that was a good idea. You specifically name the option manual, then proceed to have it automatically change lines at whistle. That makes no sense whatsoever.

Just a completely puzzling decision. Not the worst thing in the world, but a baffling decision nonetheless.

EDIT: And I found out that bringing in your backup goalie to start a game resets your shot aim and line change settings. Great.

Destroyed a water bottle. I basically jumped out of my chair when I did that.
Frickin. Sweet.

The game can look a little underwhelming from the gameplay view with its LoD scaling, but in replay, it's pretty damn impressive, and some of the animations even have impressive fidelity and subtlety to them. But, yeah, sniping, and blowing up the water bottle looks as good as it ever has in a hockey game.

Lost 5 games in a row in my Avs Be A GM. Can't remember the last time that's happened.

Bought the game tonight. Started Be a GM mode w/ NYR, wanted to sim through to get a feel for the game. The frame-rate is extremely choppy, and the loading screens and lag made it almost unbearable to play. Made it to the draft, and after every single CPU pick I had an offer for Zucc/Brassard. That was awfully annoying, and then it froze. Rebooted the game back up, took over from my last save point, I go to assign my scout to a region and it freezes again.

I'm going back to target tomorrow to return it. The quickest I've ever gotten rid of a game. It's unfortunate but I won't be buying this series for a few years if their game is anything like this.

I'm settling in now after 25 games in my NSH BAGM and about 10 exhibition games. Like the base sliders I've got, so now it's just a matter of tweaking difficulty-type sliders as I see fit. Got plenty of leeway to increase CPU difficulty.

Just recently bumped down goalie reaction speed for both me and CPU after noticing both my goals allowed and goals for a game were near bottom of the league. That can happen, but I prefer another goal or two per game. Just had a crazy 6-5 SOW where I went up 3-0, then down 4-3, came back twice to force OT.

This game does have breakdowns every now and then, but I've found player switching to be by far the biggest problem with this game. It's comically bad and can screw up a whole possession leading to a goal allowed defensively. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it.

All that said, I still race home after work to get in a game or two before going to pick up my wife from work, and try to sneak in a game any chance I can get. This game looks so beautiful and provides a fun, challenging yet still realistic enough experience that the flaws can be dealt with.

I'm going to do a 180 here. I decided to try the game out one more time, with some tips I found online to limit the freezing and speed up the menus/lag of the game. Now the last hockey game I owned was nhl 10 and loved it., so It's still a process to get used to the different menus and calendars and all. It's not a great game, I like the morale system but they haven't changed much in terms of scouting or free agency, but I'm glad I kept the game. I just have to get used to it now.

Now looking, that NHL 16 is enought hockey for me. If NHL 17 doesn't bring any big new innovation, I don't bought and cotinue with NHL 16. Only reason, that I bought NHL 16 was new games modes and EASHL.

Same thing happened with Fifa 16. Fifa 15 was good for me and Fifa 16 doesn't included nothing big innovation, so I still playing Fifa 15.

I really wish you could block trades. The Canucks must have offered me the same defender at least 20 times during the draft.

Hello,

Quick question here and I apologize if this was mentioned earlier, but I couldn't effectively review the 52 other pages here...

Anyway, there is an issue with my slider settings being reset before each game in BeAGM mode. Am I missing a setting here? Or do I really have to go through the settings menu and put in my sliders before every game in Be AGM mode?

Thank you

AP

I'm in the same boat.
I'm having fun with NHL16 so unless '17 blows my mind with massive upgrades, I won't be buying.

The gameplay/AI would need to take a huge leap forward and they would have to add considerable depth to the Franchise and BAP modes in order for me to consider paying full price for '17.

To me, it's the AI that needs a leap. In fact, I think it's the most maddening thing about this game. Unfortunately, it's a thing that you won't know until you play if it's been improved or is still leaky.

I'm having a hell of a time balancing my game and the random inexcusable breakdowns in AI are a big problem. It takes me back to NHL 2K10, which had incredible potential but the flaws were too glaring to ignore. I forgot how frustrating it can be after having a nearly flawless time with NHL 11 and NHL 12 for the past 5 years.

I Have the game for xbox one and since the last update or tuner i can not stand it i have reverted back to playing 15 the game plays way to fast on hardcore i thought
hardcore was supposed to be slow i play 6 min periods and now each team gets 40 shots on goal it is crazy because the cpu is so jacked up i am just fed up with it i actually took the game out and threw it. you can not even face forward because the pursuit is so strong and then once you get away from the guy who is on your tail another comes at you and nocks you on your butt and if you do get to face forward your so far away from the scoring zones besides the fact that if you initiate contact the cpu always recovers before you . there so much contact with goalies and they never call penalties. the game is garbage now.

nhl 15 is much better then this edition. your guys can not even get in front of there goalie and re direct shots because you can not cycle the puck like you can in 15 then there is not cpu players trying to nock pucks in with there sticks like in 15 its almost like you removed it. going forward your game needs a major re haul player models are way to big you need to make the rinks bigger there is no space to do anything cpu passes are way to accurate

I am so ticked that you are the only option what has this world come too
we got 50 million cars to choose from 50 million anything but only one hockey game.

I'm reaching my breaking point with this game man. It's becoming a chore and a frustration to play. It's a shame because it has incredible moments the majority of the time. And I can take a flaw here and there, sparingly. But every game is starting to show where this game lacks: defensive AI, awful puck control along the boards (think they got too ambitious with physics here), board play in general lacks.

I think my biggest issue is defensive controls. They're too limited. I feel like I stand around waiting for them to finally connect on a one timer instead of being able to engage in a battle with a forward. I have to pray my manual poke check breaks up a pass (sometimes it goes right through my stick, SO frustrating) or that my defender will trigger an automatic puck interception animation. My sliders for poke checking, hit power, stick lifts, and puck interceptions is maxed out.

It just sucks this is the only option out there. I would go back to previous year's editions that I feel play better, but those options are limited on PS4. I don't want to buy a used PS3 so I can go back to NHL 12 until that console breaks down like the two I had previously.

Just between a rock and a hard place: want to play a hockey game, but unhappy with this game. I'm gonna put it on the shelf for a solid month at least and revisit. I've had a lot of fun with this game, but lately it's been an exercise in how many issues I can take before I send a controller through the TV. One, I'm an adult now so I shouldn't do that like I did as a kid (LOL), two that's an expensive fit of anger, and three it shouldn't come to that.

Sorry for the rant. Had to get this off my chest. My cat isn't a good listener.

For years, been saying to get this removed. Even the stop at blue line and wiggle etc. Just remove that, or whatever triggers that, have the next step to dump the puck in or something. UGH
