The Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets square off in this NBA 2K16 gameplay video featuring two Western Conference heavyweights. There's plenty of star power on the court for sure, and there's plenty to see in this video. The big thing you'll notice is this camera angle is from the ends, so you get to view the gameplay from a different perspective versus the last few. Game looks great. You can tell that this Greg Anthony's first go around because he just sounds so dry and kinda outta place. Almost robotic sounding.

I agree. Though, I believe many may argue that's the essence of Greg Anthony.

I actually think Greg Anthony sounds good....that just how he talks....he's simply not as inviting as Steve Kerr on the mic...

Agree on the dunk selection by Harden, shouldn't even be in his package to be honest.....disagree on the speed....especially seeing Curry's acceleration on the other vid...though it could be better

Good

-AI looks improved
-Crowd looks/sounds good
-Player movement looks very good
-Net looks good

Bad
-As many noted, the overhead passes.. way too many..
-Dwight Howard would've blocked Paul.. don' like that.
-Looks like the animations of saving someone from stepping out of bounds is still in it.. hopefully this doesn't happy when im trying to dribble near half court and get called for a backcourt violation

Looks great so far. Greg Anthony fits into the commentary better than I expected, which is a good sign. Body scans look great in motion as well.

Speed/agility and acceleration is so poorly represented in this game. It's maddening to see how many things they get right but the fundamental movement of the players is still an issue. There is no reason that Harden shouldn't make that dunk on the second play of the video. Literally no reason.
It's more the dunk animation that is the problem. He shouldn't be putting the ball behind his head in that situation. Had he gone straight up with the ball above or in front of his head he probably would have finished but going up the way he did gave the defender, who was beat the ability to reach for the block.

Maybe that's something they can improve in dunk logic.

I should be writing these under evey video released here:

Super Positives:

- Gameplay has gotten TIGHT all over!
- You can see how Smooth will the CONTROLS be!
- You can't notice who is USER who is CPU, AI has gotten way better.
- True Physicality, Speed and Footplanting all the time

* All in all as Mike Wang suggested i can clearly see this game will play just as good as it looks like a movie.

Damn we still have 10 more days! I feel as excited as a 10 day contracted player.

PS: I haven't written this to other same posts of mine is that the rim is definitely bigger now and rim/ball interaction has gotten absolutely great.

100% agree. Players make mistakes in the NBA. Why shouldn't they also make them here?

Meh. Hopefully they fix a few things before it drops. I'm on FIFA 15 career mode until it drops.

Smoove said speed is actually better this year. He said he could see and feel the difference on fast breaks and players like LeBron and John Wall at times just blew by people on fast breaks. Guess we'll have to wait until the game comes out until we know for sure.

Also, as far as I know, we don't know the setting of thsee videos. Will the CPU make the same mistakes on higher difficulties or on the sim setting? If not will sliders cause the CPU to play smarter?

I also think people forget that like in real life players don't always make the 100% correct decision so we can't expect a videogame's AI to always react perfect. In fact it would be less realistic if players always reacted correctly.

I did like all the new/updated head scans and the nice alley-oop animation. The new scans are going be very apparent when you have teammates of a similar height (Clint Capela and Dwight) but vastly different builds. Didn't anyone spot Glen Davis and whether he finally stops looking like Shrek's black son?

This is the exact what i was going to post and the thing i feared most when 2k talked about improved defense. There is NO WAY Crawford should have been able to stay with harden after almost 3 consecutive moves. Great defenders have problems staying with harden, so there's no way Crawford should.

There's nothing wrong with improving defense, but this is still an nba simulation and player strengths and weaknesses have to accounted for or the game becomes arcadey.

What would have you liked to see happen instead ? Harden isn't doing anything special, Crawford may be a bad defender but he's no ghost either.

If it was in 2k15 then I must have missed it, but I caught a cool catch animation by Corey Brewer at 3:45. He was about to receive a cross court pass from Harden in the corner and simultaneously checked his feet and tried to step behind the line while catching the ball before he took the jumper. He still stepped on the line when he shot, though lol.

I am neutral on Greg Anthony as an announcer but I immediately missed the chemistry Kerr built up over the past couple of years.

The convo Anthony and Kellog had regarding being dunked on. This year the chemistry is stretched between the two but I bet down the road it will get better and better.

Nice catch. I dig little things like that. Unfortunate that he appeared to be stepping back to the sideline but then shot comfortably over the line with both feet.

Get by him or get a blocking foul from all that bumping on the perimeter. And if you've seen Jamal's defense you would notice that he is practically a ghost of defense.

i like what i see. 2k16 seems to retain all of the good qualities of 2k15, but builds more on top of it.

i'm seeing great contextual animations that are effective and situation-appropriate (much like in 2k15)...but in this 2k16 vid you see a lot more variation and realism to the movement...each movement is even more polished and even more appropriate for each specific situation....pretty much what i was hoping for. i'm happy. movement still seems like it FEELS effective, but there is just less of a visual hitch and movements seem to blend together better.

contact still looks good to me. i see appropriate contact when there should be, and said contact seems to affect shots success and alter shot animations appropriately.

i like that i'm seeing more missed contested turn-arounds and more missed contact layups. too many layups went in last year when there was contact, and in 2k15 it seemed like turn-around jumpers were pretty much automatic even with a hand in their face. seems like defense and contact cause more misses now, which is obviously good.

This is no different than in the past, But going forward, Anthony will get snippits that play off of Kellogs'.

One of my favorite Kerr snips that was added later was his: "Your always talking about food" and the "Might as well ..."

These will happen over time with Anthony and Kellog but it will take a couple of years to get up to par.
