Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced today an exclusive game license agreement with Brazil’s Sport Club Corinthians Paulista for PES 2016. Additionally, 20 Brazilian teams from the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (“Série A”) will be included in the game for the third time in a row. This represents the only full local league in one of the top soccer countries in the world to only be featured in PES 2016. Through these agreements, fans will be able to play their favorite players and sport their desired uniforms from Brazil’s most popular teams.

PES 2016 will feature a total of 24 Brazilian teams. The full lineup of the 20 Brazilian “Serie A” (Campeonato Brasileiro Série A) teams include: Corinthians, Atlético M-G, Grêmio, Fluminense, São Paulo FC, Sport, Atlético Paranaense, Chapecoense, Ponte Preta, Internacional, Santos FC, C.R. Flamengo, Cruzeiro, Figueirense, Avaí FC, Goiás, Coritiba, Joinville and Vasco da Gama. Additionally, PES 2016 will feature four Brazilian clubs from “Série B” which include: Bahia, Vitória, Botafogo and Criciúma.

PES 2016’s tagline, ‘Love The Past, Play The Future,’ pays tribute to the PES series, where new gameplay and presentational elements will establish the title as the definitive soccer experience. The new game strives to create a realistic yet exciting match between players, and delivers quality gameplay as expected from the acclaimed PES series.

PES 2016 will be available for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on Sept. 15.

Good news. Also, is this basically confirmation that the FIFA 16 rumors were true? They have all but two clubs licensed and back in the game.

Absolutely nothing is confirmed for FIFA. It really looks certain that they will fail to re-add the Brazil league or have all the teams from Argentina. Doesn't look like they will add a single new team outside of promoted teams. Not impressed at all by EA this year.

It's a small victory for PES, but at least it's something. Would be nice if they could add some Brazilian specific stadiums/presentation to go with this.

Yeah a few more stadiums would be good, they do have the Corinthians Stadium as per the demo... but other than that, its guesswork for South America.

The Libertadores gets the full pomp on presentation and the crowds are more 'South American' for their games, but other than that idk what Konami will do (or not as the case will probably be).

Some of you seem to think this is announcing an exclusive agreement with the Brazilian League. The exclusive agreement is ONLY with Corinthians. The game features (not exclusively) 20 other Brazilian teams.

There are already 4 Brazilian Stadiums already confirmed for the game: Mineirão (Cruzeiro and Atlético MG), Arena Corinthians (Corinthians), Morumbi (São Paulo) and Vila Belmiro (Santos). It was already confirmed also that all the stadiums of 2015 will be in the game this year, so we can expect Bombonera (Boca Juniors) and Monumental (River Plate) to be available too.

If we´re still now alowed to use Europe licensed stadiums for South America teams we will have these 6 plus the 6 unlicensed ones: Royal London Stadium, Estadio de Escorpiao, Estadio del Nuevo Triunfo, Konami Stadium, Orione Stadium and Burg Stadium.
