RISE TOGETHER IN NBA LIVE 16 PRO-AM

New LIVE Run and Summer Circuit Online Modes Available for Free on Sept 15

Today Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) announced NBA LIVE 16 is bringing basketball fans new ways to compete online with the introduction of LIVE Pro-Am. LIVE Pro-Am features two all-new fun and exciting online modes, LIVE Run and Summer Circuit. First off is LIVE Run, giving players a smooth and stable online pick-up game with up to nine friends on storied courts like Rucker Park, Venice Beach, Jordan Terminal 23 and more. Joining LIVE Run is the brand new Summer Circuit, an online co-op mode where players will travel across North America squaring off against NBA superstars on a journey to dominate the court. LIVE Pro-Am will be available to try for free starting September 15 via download on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

At the heart of LIVE Pro-Am is you. Use your created player across LIVE Run, Summer Circuit and the Rising Star career mode. Playing games in any of these modes will earn you SP (Skill Points) to upgrade your skills using our new progression system and RP (Reward Points) to purchase authentic gear in the LIVE Spot store. Customize your player from head to toe with the latest kicks and gear from leading apparel brands including Jordan, or get some ink from world-renowned tattooist Randy Harris. NBA LIVE 16 also introduces a new companion mobile app featuring GameFaceHD, the exclusive mobile scanning tech which can be used to quickly and easily scan your face and upload it into the game. GameFaceHD will be available for free download on mobile devices starting September 8, and all scanned faces can be used when LIVE Pro-Am launches for free on September 15. Your created character’s progression and reward unlocks will be carried over into the full game when NBA LIVE 16 launches on September 29.

Alongside LIVE Pro-Am, starting September 15 fans can check out exhibition-style play in Tip Off mode with six NBA teams, and the Learn LIVE tutorials, consisting of drills to familiarize yourself with the game and basketball fundamentals. All this together in a free package will give basketball fans an opportunity to run with their friends and get a head start on the new season in advance of the launch of NBA LIVE 16.

One thing I was hoping they would announce: 10-person 5v5 online play. Have they announced this previously and I just missed it?

Not really related to the modes announced, but can you talk about gameplay in the post area? Has it been improved, more moves, etc?

Unfortunately, I can't talk specifics about gameplay yet.

Game modes look promising but I can't help but notice they only showed jumpers as dunks (and 1 layup) which leads me to believe that the layup and post game animations aren't up to par and they know it. Smh.

Better teammate grades gave higher SP/RP. There are also 3 goals for you to reach in each game in Summer Circuit, and completing those goals give you bonus SP/RP.

I'm seriously so hyped off of just watching the trailer once. That I'll be watching numerous times each day until the demo drops on 9/15. What caught my attention was the authentic and real life courts. Along with the XP system to boot!

SUPER smart to let everyone try it out in advance. If it plays well, I think some people will jump ship to EA.

I tried to warn 2K lol.

I've never really been a fan of the team up modes and all the online stuff with these games, but this is cool. Visuals look great in the trailer. Slowly but surely Live is getting back to respectability.

My only gripe about the trailer is that I'm seeing the same dunks I absolutely dislike in . live 15.

I am hooked; the hype train just ran me over. After I try the demo, and EA Access, I think LIVE 16 will be a day-1 purchase. I played Live14, and Live15, and this is a Major step for EA's Live team. EA has been grinding, and doing some work! Whaoo!
I like what I see; now let me play!
cheers

This is a REALLY smart strategy to compete with 2K. I will definitely be trying this early Sept. 15th. Looks and sounds great.

Kudos to the live team for allowing these modes to try out. I am more interested in the 6 teams game play. I wish it was released Friday, but hopefully i will find some quality time during the weekend to try this demo out.

I'm just scared this is going to be a dunk fest.

Kevin Durant looked really realistic and his animations as well. I am sold on Live so far. I'm getting this the first day it comes out.
