MLB 15 The Show News Post

Another week is wrapping up in Diamond Dynasty as we move into the "winning time" portion of the MLB season. Everybody who swapped teams during the trade deadline has settled in a bit at this point, and the July Topps 50 pack was released over the weekend as well. All that being said, it's time to look ahead once again and try to predict who might be getting a ratings boost on Monday morning.

I'll be breaking the predictions into tiers based on my own confidence level:

Ratings Boost Probability: High

-Jake Arrieta - There are not many pitchers who have done more for their careers this year than Arrieta. I think he's more or less confirmed his status as a top-flight pitcher, and his last update was on 5/4. In the last month, he's got 38 strikeouts over 35 innings pitched to go with a .86 WHIP. He's primed for an update.

-Danny Salazar - I had Salazar in the "medium" category last week, but I feel he's jumped into the "high" category now. He's striking out a batter an inning as of late, and all his peripherals look so much more in line with where they should be now that his home run totals have come down.

-Carlos Correa - I've said enough about Correa at this point. He's a rookie dynamo, and he shouldn't be a Bronze.

-Nelson Cruz - Another player I had in my predictions last week, Nelson Cruz has insane numbers on the year, and even more crazy ones over the last month. He's hitting .385 over the last month to go with 11 home runs. On the season he has a .992 OPS.

Crawford leads all shortstops in WAR, HR's, and SLG % but of course lets give him low 50's power. I know we shouldn't take the rating system too serious but seeing Elvis Andrus, Alcides Escobar, and Jose Iglesias being rated higher than him is just laughable.

well they dont look at rbis at all. Grichuk has a higher SLG than Bryant and has 100 fewer AB's. Grichuk and Duffy got snubbed yet Correa goes up 10 pts based off two months!

The update was just inconsistent. They rerate from scratch for some players yet some got ignored like Grichuk and Duffy.

And this is the Cardinals fan in me...but how the heck do the Cards pitchers not go up at all? When was the last time a team had 2.60 era? Ridiculous....

Cano being a 90 and Kipnis being an 85 is a joke! They ignore attributes like defense for these updates. Cano is not a good fielder anymore.

Nelson Cruz went down 10 in power and leads the majors in HRs with Trout who also isnt in the 90's in any power category and below a bunch of guys.

Yea it's really annoying that 3 of the biggest powers hitters this year (Pujols, Cruz, and Trout) are all below 90 in power.

Donaldson drives me nuts. Right now he is a platoon guy only in DD but in real life his numbers vs righties this year are straight up great. .283 avg and 24 hrs.
They also reduced JD Martinez's contact vs righties without raising his power which sucks. Todd Frazier made no sense and Arenado made absolutely 0 sense because his power numbers were already too low in the first place.

I'm thinking that SCEA will keep updating rosters week to week and some of the guys the screwed up on will get fixed. (hopefully)

More or less every Monday morning some ratings will change for a group of players. The updates are not nearly this massive -- this is an exception.

this was the "big UPdate" should been called the "LITTLE DOWNgrade" seems most ppl went down and other than a few (correa, seager) seems like everything was 1 freakin point!!! what a waste, that hardly counts as an up or downgrade jeez. AND WTF!!!!! JOSE FERNANDEZ?!!??! DIAMOND!?!? dude had what 5 starts this season? yea so he was 4-0 with a 2+ era, if you're judging a guy by 5 starts, andrew heany would be diamond he was 4-0 2ish era. now 4-1 but still since when does a guy get such a huge upgrade after 4 starts? AND HE'S RATED BETTER THAN GRIENKE?!?!?! GRIENKE is like the most dominate arm this year(and i hate the dodgers and i still say that) wtf is wrong with these ppl, i swear these guys are *$&$ing tennis fans trying to do baseball stats, something is messed up in their freakin head. why was seager dropped so low?!?! and why are there no diamond 2nd baseman? is there really not 1 dominant 2nd baseman in the game??? i would think altuve/dee gordon should be at least very close. altuve going back up was good tho he shoulda never been dropped in the first place

How is Mitch Moreland still a bronze? He is a good defensive player hitting over .290 and leading his team in home runs.
