Man it's funny.....I was looking back at the first gameplay footage of NBA 2K14....as much praise as it's gotten over the last week...it's hilarious that some here were saying it didn't look any different from the 360/PS3 version at the time

Nothing like this time of year...

As I predicted, they still managed to ruin his shooting form.

Curry extends his right arm fully when he releases the ball after a shot. He doesn't in this clip. What's new, though.

Yeah I remember that too but I think people meant the gameplay not the graphics? I still don't agree with that either, but we always get that it looks like last year talk at gamescom time.

So Stephen Curry ruined his own shooting motion....got it

If they mocapped exactly what he did. How do you explain it being off? They edited the mocap for no reason?

Or could it be when they recorded that footage it wasn't a perfect release. And they shot the ball too soon resulting in a shorter stroke or more abrupt motion?
Maybe it was a slight capture accuracy issue or Curry actually shot it that way. He doesn't always fully extend when shooting free throws. Sometimes he gets a little more extension than others, but in a clip I just checked he stops short of extending fully though similar to the clip. His next free-throw he seems to shoot more extended.

First Curry FT maintains a slight arm bend.

The animation will probably look a lot better in full speed especially with that wrist bounce.

Now they better get his 3-point shot right. THAT better show full extension and even hyper extension in his release with that same wrist bounce.

Hyperextension and no hitch in his shot or I riot.

For all this talk about lighting and reflections... there's one thing MAJOR that's missing!

I couldn't point it out at first but something looked really off and a little fake in the shot of his shoe. I just realized what it was-- THERE ARE NO PLAYER REFLECTIONS IN THAT SHOT.

That's why his feet kind of don't seem to be solidly grounded. At that camera angle, the reflection should be very prominent.

I'm hoping it's just a case of an early build where it's not turned on. 2K DOES have player reflections, or at least it did in 2K14 and 15 (however faint).

Hmm looks like graphics are the are new crew, when it comes to year end complaints.

I'm not so sure you should see a reflection at that angle.....there are a couple things that would factor into it

This thread pales in comparison to the year when graphical fidelity and width of the wood planks was all the rage. Who remembers that one?

Trust me, we get it. We're all basketball junkies fiending for unparalleled authenticity.

And more info on the game.

I'll make sure you guys get all the goods on MyLEAGUE/MyGM this year, as always. But first, need to keep focused on the game and making it all it can be.

I want to finally be able to create team usa so I can put those Euro teams to good use. It might be optimistic but I hope it gets there one day

We're at a point where we are talking about chipped teeth.

Something you can only notice on replay, whilst zoomed in extremely tightly during a moment where they have their mouth open.

Honestly, nothing about that Curry free throw clip from 2K16 seems accurate to me. Even the way he's holding the ball before shooting it seems off. Meh.
