Not really new information there, but the animations did look good. The catching animations looked good, much better & more realistic than what we seen in the Jameis Winston/Bucs clip.

edit: kinda funny how the narrator mentioned throwing high to your taller receivers and it was accompanied by a TY Hilton catch

I suggest you adjust your TV or get your eyes checked bro.

Yeah I laughed at that too. The one thing I hoped they would properly illustrate is the use of the touch pass but NOPE. Can't see anything from those crazy highlight cuts.

Kingd is right. Hopefully these highlights were from a 4PM game, if so then that would make sense that things have a dull, orange twinge to them. If it's a 1PM game, then there is not enough white light. Either that or the conditions are just 'hazy', which I don't even think is a weather option in madden.

The lighting has improved in madden, but still has a ways to go to achieve realism.

so TY Hilton is considered a tall receiver now.......

heard this before. I'll believe it when I play it and feel it. cause they always say "in control" and then you jump in and the CPU AI mucks it all up and a LB running down field perfectly times his ball swat and knocks away the pass without ever knowing where the ball was.

All the new catch animations look so awesome. They did a great job. You can really tell how much better they are capturing their new animations. With that said, I wish they would've redone all types of catches. Also I wish they worked more on QB movement in general. Seeing all the old stuff with the new stuff just makes you pine for more. Especially seeing the new hand off and play action animations. Can't be greedy though, Tiburon is really putting in work.

Can someone clarify what the "new ability to throw touch passes" is? Is there a a new mechanic?

Apparently there is but, it hasn't been explained yet. I've read somewhere it has something to do with pressing another button while throwing to your receiver.

That last throw by Luck looked nice. I like how the animation wasn't cut short and it naturally flowed with him having to take the extra steps due to the momentum.

Ya. You double tap the receiver icon for touch. Tap for lob and hold for bullet

Tap for lob, hold for bullet, and double tap for touch?

I thought all of this was in the game before?

# 14 GoodImmigrant @ 07/27/15 06:09 PM
I thought the touch pass feature was in last year

Wait what? Are they really saying this is a feature now? I was tapping for lob passes and holding for bullet passes 15 years ago and another game had the in the middle type ( or normal ) of pass too way back when. Ugh. Just the thought of that makes me want to vomit.

The QB animations still need work.. Who do they mocap for those? I still think the PS2 Maddens have a better QB animations especially the follow through. That is cringe worthy on the new games.

Edit : The catch where TY jumps in the airs and falls on his back looks incomplete to me! Looks like he lands OB at the same time. haha

Also good to see a diving catch.

That's not what they meant.

And TY Hilton caught all sorts of jump balls last year. Not because of height obviously, the man can jump and he has great positioning.

I just hope this touch pass will help eliminate the unrealistic number of passes knocked down by LB's...

I am so tired of seeing the LB just stand there and stick a hand out to knock a pass down...

Im with everyone on the QB animations. Worst animations in the game. Yes they added some new ones but the QB animations and movement overall needs to be completely redone.

# 19 Cnada @ 07/27/15 08:56 PM
The touch pass better be redone because it didnt work. The pass was so slow a LB would get upfield to knock it down or INT.

Great in practice but was simply too risky to use.

I dont think theirs even any expert guides on using it.

Double tap will make it easier to know its that throw type though

This actually looks pretty good.
