NHL 16 Arena Atmosphere Details (Wild, Red Wings, Flames, Capitals)

NHL 16 continues to build on their authentic arenas and atmosphere with signature effects and well known props throughout the league. Check out a few examples in the images below.

Minnesota Wild - Xcel Energy Center

The Lighthouse in the Xcel Energy Center will blast a foghorn when the Wild score a goal and after a home ice victory.

Detroit Red Wings - Joe Louis Arena

The Legend of the Octopus in Detroit is one of the oldest and most iconic traditions in the sport of hockey. That�s why we had to get Al The Octopus looking just right.

Calgary Flames - Scotiabank Saddledome

During playoff games, the C of Red will be going nuts when the Calgary Flames take to the ice. To make the experience even more authentic, fire will blast from the Saddledome flamethrowers after every goal.

Washington Capitals - Verizon Center

Speaking of red, you�ll see a ton of it when you visit the Verizon Center during playoff time. Caps fans will #RockTheRed during the postseason as they cheer on their hometown Capitals.

NHL 16 arrives on September 15 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

All the EA Games have been at "1080p" this gen I believe? At least it says on the back of the box that's the case. I think on Xbox One they maybe are like 940p or whatever the controversy sometimes is but yeah.

Looks great...hopefully the game play as well. Because, IMO, all these atmosphere and the excitement will dissipate quickly if the gameplay is horrible like in the previous releases.

Hopefully the graphics in the NHL series begin to rival those in NBA2K. I play all 82 games in GM Mode so these arenas and new intros will hopefully keep things fresh. Here's to hoping the gameplay makes the necessary improvements too.

The Joe is lookin good! Right down to the paint on the walls between the upper and lower bowls. Nicely done. Even looks like they've got the "Standing" parts on the walls for the standing room sections. Pretty cool attention to detail.

who can spot the blooper , in those screen shots, all arenas have netting on both sides not just 1 side.

Looks like I will finally consider buying this time. Used to buy every year but I am now skipping a year when it comes to EA games.

If you're talking about the Scotiabank Saddledome screenshot, you may need your eyes checked. It DOES have the netting on both sides.

Fan Chants I don't think you can say the words "suck" or "sucks" in an E-rated game, so that probably rules out 75% of the chants Nashville's crowd uses. I'd settle for these five: -- PEK-KA, PEK-KA, PEK-KA, PEK-KA (after an impressive save) -- LET'S GO PRED-A-TORS STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP (whenever the game is tight in a key moment, or the team needs a pick-me-up) -- THANKS, PAUL! (right after the PA announcer says there's 1 minute remaining in the period) -- Actual live goose calls being sounded from the stands whenever Paul Gaustad takes the ice. -- A sustained chorus of boos from the crowd any time Ryan Suter has the puck on his stick, which is often when the Wild come to town. During Intermission -- Rock and country music bands play live music up on the end zone band stage between the first and second periods. It'd be cool to see a quick shot of this happening during the period breaks.

Realistically, I expect none of this to happen, except maybe the plastic sabertooth tiger head that hangs up in the rafters and descends to the ice for warmups.

am looking at it and I see no netting at the far end, on that screen shot, and no.. u are not gonna pull blanket over my eyes, I see everything XD

Some presentation notes from Rammer who did a mini Q&A last night...

Rangers correct goal horn is in for 16
Kings goal horn is in for 16 (even tho it was in last year correctly)
Minnesota Goal horn is correct for 16. Nothing would be worse than preaching all this authenticity and getting details like the horns incorrect or blasting the wrong one.

The big one that I asked which he didn't answer at first which scared me but then someone else asked and he answered was if the Chicago Goal horn AND song are in, and he confirmed that both are in

If you look at the stair cases you see a line going through them. That is the netting.

that's a really small net then, it has to look like the other side , am gonna look at it again to make to make sure, its really hard to see if that's the walkways we are seeing with that line, its like illusion

When you get farther away from an object it looks smaller.
