these comparison screens are definitely what needs to be shown, because nba lives skin textures and skin tones look much more lifelike than the competitor.. we just have to see it in motion
Obviously, the face scanning tech is paying off in a big way for EA/NBA Live. I still think the jerseys look off in the chest region but overall good work.
Another small issue is LeBron ' s beard connecting with his mustache (in - game model), when in real life it doesn't. It still looks good, though.
It looks good no doubt about that. However something with nba lives player models that still looks cartoonish to me I can't understand why, but it does. It's the same thing with Madden. I guess it just boils down to ones preference.

Can you please elaborate on what looks cartoonish? The comparison pics are great and resembles their real life counterpart. I'm just trying to see what you see.

Man, if you think this looks cartoonish, I wonder what you think of the other game's player models?
One Really Small Thing That Irks Me About NBA Live Is The Fact That On The Bench There's Only The Head Coach And The Players...It Just Makes That Area Look So Empty!

IMO the faces and skin textures look amazing. However when I see the entire body the way the jersey fits in the back looks off as if the jersey shrunk in the back, I'm seeing way too much of the back of the armpits and traps. Seems as though the waist area is a bit too narrow. And also the way the jersey fits around the chest seems off. It's like everybody has a V shaped body.
I think the competition brings more life like player models. Can't wait to see what they can do with body scanning.
Me too. I expect good things from 2K. But if they fail to improve, then people need to get on them the way they got on EA with Madden -- resting on their laurels.
