NBA 2K16 News Post

Take this for what you will:

The Gospel Herald is reporting that NBA 2K16 will be released on October 27 of this year.

It's interesting to note that Take-Two would push back from the regular release date of early October to be more in line with the NBA's actual season. We're seeing this a lot more now, especially with Madden being the trend setter a couple of years ago.

But the most glaring note, WWE 2K16 releases on October 27 as well. Maybe we will see combo pack of NBA and WWE 2K16 at release. It wouldn't be a bad business move to try and bring both franchise fan bases together by offering two brand new games for $99.

Also, GameStop has NBA 2K16 up on their website, along with a small paragraph detailing the next iteration in the award-winning sports video game:

Quote:
The NBA 2K franchise is back with the most true-to-life NBA experience to date with NBA 2K16. Guide your MyPLAYER through the complete NBA journey, take control of an entire NBA franchise, or hone your skills online competing against gamers from around the world. With animations that provide smoother movement and more realistic articulation, it's certain to be the most authentic NBA gaming experience yet.
We already know that Spike Lee is heavily involved with the MyPlayer story. Perhaps a re-creation of He Got Game?

But what piques my interest is the smoother movements and realistic articulations mentioned. NBA 2K15 runs at 60 FPS, so there may be a game-changing technological development coming our way this October.

Whoever I get on the digital version I'll be fine with. I don't care who is on the cover though tbh.

I don't know how I feel about more animations, especially if they're as rampant and as intrusive as they were in 2K15.

This could def be true smh.. Hopefully 2k steps it up this year for Online Gaming and Gameplay..

Yes!!! I can't WAIT to see what animations we get trapped in this year, where we completely lose even more control of our characters! Woo!!

The later release is definitely a good thing. I hate having to wait a month for the first roster update. However I'll believe the other stuff when I see it.

Wasn't crazy about 2K15. I don't know maybe I'm losing interest in this series. I think this might be a first non buy for me since 06 unless 2K blows me away. Floaty passes, awful rim physics and ai teammate defense all need to be addressed. Plenty of ugly animations just like every year but I have hope with the new sim staff they have in place.

I'd rather them call the 3 seconds too!!...sometimes I go to the replays to count along with the shot clock how long they'll be In there for..lol my highest I believe was 6 or 7.

I am not really surprised by this. Every year they put more into the game and the game is never finished when they have to put the pin down to go press the discs. 2K15 had one of the latest in year patch release I can recall for a 2K basketball game. If the game comes out better less issues needed to be patched. I say go head and push the game back to the actual NBA season.

None of us work there but every year I hear the developers saying they need more time, more time and they are putting in crazy hours into game. I think they will take 3 more weeks if they could. A lot can change in 3 weeks of development cycle.

Yay 3 extra weeks of the 2k hype train /sarcasm

Has to be lol. It's a lot of things I don't like about 2K and some of the decisions they've made (looking at you Mike Wang lol), but 2K15 is a great game and the 2K series has been consistently good.

I know when I buy 2K, I will definitely enjoy it. Never been disappointed with a purchase besides 2K12, which was the worst imo. Very interested to see what Czar and OG brings to 2K in a full cycle.

It's not like it's something that's said every year.

I do believe 2K16 is gonna be amazing though.
