The official release of the NHL 16 Feature list is here, and while its the exact same as the list leaked yesterday, it's nice to get confirmation on what is coming in this year's game.

Here is the full list of game modes in NHL 16:

Check out the full list of NHL 16 features below:

"Built with more input from our fans than ever before, NHL 16 steps onto the ice to deliver ways to compete as a team, new features across the most played single-player modes, gameplay innovation at every position on the ice and an unrivalled game day atmosphere.

New Ways to Compete as a Team

Hockey is a sport that comes to life in a competitive team-based gameplay experience. Whether it’s through speed, skill, or physicality, every player makes an impact on the ice no matter what position they play or their role on the team. So grab some friends and jump into either 6 v. 6 Online Team Play, Online Couch Co-op, or the re-imagined EA SPORTS Hockey League and prove that great individuals can’t beat a great team.

The New EASHL

Sharpen those skates and grab your buddies because the EA SPORTS Hockey League is back! This fan-favorite online team mode has been reimagined and lets you choose specialized player classes to deliver a balanced competitive experience on the ice. Player skill and your ability to play as a team will now be the determining factor in who wins and loses hockey games.

6 v. 6 Online Team Play

New copy: Play online with up to twelve skaters including user controlled goalies. Using real-world NHL rosters you can compete in ranked drop-in games against players from around the world or invite your friends to a private OTP session before you step into EA SPORTS Hockey League.

Online Couch Co-op

The perfect way to play when you and your friends want to jump on the couch, join forces and play some drop-in hockey online. It’s the best place to practice your team play skills before playing OTP or EASHL.

A Way to Play for Every Hockey Fan

Whether you’re an armchair GM, want to live out your NHL pro fantasy, or build your ultimate dream team, NHL 16 will deliver a single-player game mode for every type of hockey fan - each with new features that you’ve never seen in EA SPORTS NHL.

Be a GM: Player Morale

Being a GM is about more than just getting the best players, it’s about getting the right players to play well together. Each player on your NHL and AHL team has a different personality that you will have to manage. Deal with trade demands, teammate relationships, and much more by calling team meetings or adjusting your roster to directly affect your team’s on-ice performance.

Be a Pro: Shape Your Legacy

The way you play dictates the type of player you will become in an all-new Be a Pro progression system. On-ice actions directly influence attributes earned, ensuring that your Pro will reflect the way you play. Sim to your next shift and the ability to work your way up from CHL rookie to an NHL Superstar also make a return in NHL 16.

Hockey Ultimate Team: Single Player Seasons

The most played mode in the NHL series gets even better. Improved player management and the introduction of HUT Single Player Seasons gives you another way to hone your skills before jumping online with HUT Online Seasons or challenging your friends with the Play a Friend feature.

Visual On-Ice Training

Whether you’re new to the NHL series and looking for pointers or are a grizzled veteran trying to perfect your game, this new training tool will help sharpen your offensive and defensive skills no matter your talent level. Visual aids project shooting targets, passing lanes, open teammates, and more.

Complete Control From Every Position

Whether you play as a forward, defenseman or goalie, NHL 16 delivers a balanced gameplay experience that makes every position on the ice meaningful to team success. With gameplay innovation on offense and defense, players have new tools to not only score goals, but to prevent them as well.

Precision Skating

Utilize a new skating tool that allows you to make refined movements with your skater in any situation. On defense quickly jump into passing lanes and intercept the puck, or walk the blueline on the power play and open yourself up for that one-timer in the offensive zone.

Seamless Puck Pickups

The ability to quickly control a pass or corral a loose puck can be the difference between generating a scoring chance and getting leveled. New puck pickups result in smoother transitions when receiving the puck no matter what your position, giving you more time and control to make your next move.

Unrivaled Game Day Authenticity

NHL 16 brings the game to life with distinct arena atmospheres, the most realistic players yet, and a story-driven commentary package to pull you into the energy of the game like never before.

Distinct Team Arena Atmosphere

Best in class arena authenticity gets even better with the inclusion of authentic arena effects and props including team specific celebrations, mascots, chants, and even signature props like the Lighthouse at the Xcel Energy Center in Minnesota.

Story Driven Commentary

Doc Emrick, Eddie Olczyk, and Ray Ferraro are back and now call the game with even more emotion. Hear Doc’s voice rise and fall with the action on the ice and get analysis from Eddie & Ray on the peaks and valleys of a NHL season. An expanded NBC SPORTS broadcast package and new pre-game intros brings the drama to life in more ways than ever before.

Superstar Authenticity

Enhanced facial features and new equipment details synonymous with the league’s top players adds another layer of player authenticity. Use these new equipment elements to customize your own created character giving them a unique look, from custom stick tape, colored skate laces, tinted visors, and more.

Playoff Beards

One of the oldest and most iconic traditions in hockey has arrived. With accurate representations of beard patterns, length, thickness, and growth rates for individual players, the road to the Stanley Cup just got hairier."

UPDATE: One thing people keep asking about is if "edit a pro" is in the game. Right now, none of the GameChangers or EA is saying it will be in NHL 16.

The list goes on and on.

It'd be nice to see some guys have different attributes depending on where they lined-up.
It would also give GM's more options knowing they have guys that can play multiple positions.

IMO, this is long overdue.
Another thing FIFA has that is well-implemented. It's less well-implemented with generated youth players, but none the less, multiple positions are in. Sometimes you have that defensive midfielder who can also play CB. The left footed CM who is also capable of playing on the left side, and isn't very effective on the right.

It would also be nice if they differentiated between LD and RD, which may be more hassle than it's worth, but some guys do play better on one side compared to the other

EASHL makes it a day one buy for me. It's the only reason I didn't by 15,

I wonder if in eashl you can still change your skate blades and stick curve and if will still effect your shooting and skating?

How about hats on the ice for hat tricks and also I wish they would clean up the animation for when you score and the one player jumps on the back of the other very unrealistic and it just looks plain awkward. I do really like that they found Doc to robotic and he will have more emotion for the play by play. I really think they nailed Eddie and Ray they just need more content which they said they will add. So hopefully gameplay will be better with better defense but as it is right now I will pre order the game this year most likely instead of waiting for the fire sale.

Someone posted a good point, it's EA's job to do that work and we shouldn't have to do it, give us a weekly update. Gretzky numbers shouldn't be on non-Gretzky type players. Everyone hopes and wishes for all their dreams to be in the game, which is equally as insane as wanting EA to do their job. Update their roster so I don't have to, when I could be actually PLAYING and enjoying the game. But keep posting negative comments and "FIRST!" if you want though. It looks like the majority wants it, so hopefully for you and everyone else, EA will add it. I want Be A GM Online and it's not on there, I'm still going to buy it, play it and love it. I wouldn't go after someone else on here and blow them up because they have their thoughts or opinions

Do you think EA is doing their work in making their roster reflect the real players? Do you think that it is OK to have a line 4 player play like Crosby? In your experience, does EA release a much improved roster every week, 2x a month, or monthly?

We are trying to get the EA's attention that they are not doing their job when it comes roster. This was not only last year or the other year's issue, its an on going issue. How come when it comes to roster sharing or roster update, most games outside EA are allowing roster sharing and doing at least 2x a week roster updates?

Sorry to hurt your feeling but EA SUCKS big time when it comes to player differentiation and roster updates.

I dont trust anything from this game until I see it. AI needs to be improved, goalies need to be improved and they really need to stop making the game too easy to play. More realism all around is sorely needed.

I haven't gotten an NHL game in a few years, but am considering it.
- Editing current players is a must for me.
- And I'd really like to be able to Create a team.
- Also, can you edit the draft classes and make your own prospects?

You can do none of that.

You can't edit any of the real players or create a team but you can create a prospect and put him in the minor leagues and this should make him draftable in Be a GM.

Pretty simple for me - if I can't edit players I'm not buying it. Didn't buy this year's iteration and I guess I won't buy next year's either. Actually, I won't buy it until they open up the game in GM mode so I can edit any player on any team in any way I see fit - and that includes the ability to access the library of faces they have for created players so I don't have 1/4 of my line-up skating around looking like triplets. EA messes up ratings, doesn't update ratings, and screws up player progression. If you allow the person who buys the product to fix it for you, you have thousands of people who buy your game and are happy - and if you don't they'll spend their dollars elsewhere. No reason whatsoever beyond the egos of the designers to lock up those editing features which are open in so many other games.

i could care less about player editor.
i pretty much have about 2 hours a week to play now.
i there isnt much better player seperation and rehauled goalies and goalie differential. i wont get it.
the game was just simply not fun and way too repetitive to play last year.

The confidence mechanic could be really awful if they implement it as they have in Madden. ...Madden is all about production if your cb doesn't get an int every game he drops 4 confidence or more. Then if he happens to get one but you lose the game he drops anyway. Then they don't reset after the season so if your team stunk you are pretty much screwed for years. Atleast in Madden you can cut the players whose confidence is broken....I'll definitely be waiting for hands on reviews before getting this game.

Bingo! Obviously, that person never played with the revamped rosters...if he did, he may have developed an apreciation for PROPER rosters. Honestly tho...there are 2 types of NHL gamers....the arcade types and the sim types. I love sim style games....I want to play an authentic style of game. EA should accommodate both styles. Give us sim-heads the options to make the game as accurate to real life as possible. And let the arcade lovers just play.

If they opened up the game to editing we could all be happy. It's ridiculous - are they still afraid they're going to lose sales if gamers can make rosters customized how they want? The exact opposite happens... you lock us out and we don't buy.

they're afraid they won't make as much on that card mode the kids love

I think FIFA did a pretty nice job with the confidence side of things. Guys who were all stars expected to play all the time. When injured they would be e-mailing you and saying they were ready to go back in, even if the physio said they may not be ready. You had to balance that. Do you put the guy in to appease him, but risk him getting hurt (Could be a big choice if it's a guy who is on the verge of asking for a trade) or do you sit him and put in the second string guy?

Players who were smaller would ask to get a bit of playing time, and express gratitude when given it, or disappointment if you went with the usual lineup. If nothing else, it was a small incentive to try new line players. The other cool part, was when those guys did well, their attributes showed a noticeable improvement. I had a guy who was hardly qualified to play on my starting squad, but due to injury and another starter demanding a trade, I threw him in. The kid killed it. His overall shot up, and he was scoring goals left and right. It helped that he had some luck, and a great setup man, but he dominated in the starting roll. I ended up trading another winger when my main striker came back from injury, and rolled with both my star player, and new guy. I had an awesome attack line, all because i found a bit of luck, and gave a mystery player a chance.

Things like that get people into the game. It gets people buying the game. EA's NHL currently lacks that, and with how they've implemented past ideas, i'm worried at how forced the entire thing will feel. Will I just be wasting my time as a GM trying to trade for everyone's BFF, just to get them to stop e-mailing me every other week about not being happy on the team?

NHL 15 was effectively worse than NHL 11. So does this mean we're going to get a proper NHL game for next gen? Because I ****ING love hockey, and especially EASHL.

I don't care about UT, just EASHL and Franchise!
