NHL Legacy Edition Coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3

EA Sports has announced NHL Legacy Edition, which is the NHL release for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 this year. On the surface, it looks like a greatest hits of sorts for the 360/PS3 era. GameStop currently shows a $59.99 price, but we haven't heard anything official.

Here's who this game is perfect for: someone like me. Bought NHL 14 for 360, didn't really love what was going on, didn't buy 15 because I don't have a One/PS4. Kind of thought about getting back into things this year but didn't know if there would be a game for 360. Glad there is. However, if it's more than $40 I do have to draw a line. But I do think they can draw some people in with this, the lapsed people like me who don't own next gen but want to give it one more go on 360.

Do you think the new player customazation will be able in nhl legacy? Or it's just a nhl 09 to 15 compilation?

I'm disappointed that EA don't care about his players. Nothing new every year. I hope some day 2k will be back

Why would EA use resources on a game for a system no one is going to buy?

Please people, use some common sense.

There are over 81 million PS3 systems in the world (end of 2014) and 8 million PS4's. Obviously, that's going to change but making a roster update "legacy" title for the PS3 is a pretty safe bet, given the expense of "making" it.

I love my PS3 and games. The leap between 3 and 4 technology is smaller than any system upgrade before it. PS1 vs. PS2 was huge, PS2 to PS3 was even bigger. PS3 to PS4? Meh...

I'm just curious to see if the improved goalies are coming into the game. If it's just a roster update, I won't buy it. I like NHL 14, and it's fun playing as a skater, but goalie is insanely difficult, even on Rookie. I don't want to have to buy the PS4 just to play a game with decent goalies, so if the legacy edition contained that, I would appreciate it very much.

I've read that the player differentiation is a lot better in Legacy than current-gen.
To anyone who's played both (especially NHL16) can you comment on this?

Has anyone been able to download roster updates for Legacy? There aren't any to download in my game (PS3), But some people at EA forums say they have downloaded one (dated Sept. 9th). How about here?

Try starting up an online versus game - it will prompt you asking if you want to download the roster - download it, and then just back out of the game. I THINK this is how you can get it. See if it works.

Yes, downloaded them about a week ago on PS3 by just going to download rosters.

They're not worth downloading yet...

One way to get it to work - go into an online game. If it asks you to download the roster, just do so. Then just back out of the game. But to be candid, you should wait because a TON of players / movements are missing.

Just checked last night and no new roster has been provided by EA since #2 from October. Pathetic job by EA. This game is going back. We paid good money for this game and in essence got nothing from them - no tuners, and a couple roster updates - that's it. Not everyone wants (or can afford) an Xbox One, and I get disappointed when that becomes the solution for 360 games recently released. We deserved better...

and why are you surprised ? we're lucky we had any updates for nhl15 on 360/ps3 last year. that's why I stuck with nhl15 for 360, I'm able to make changes on/off console, and from the sounds of it, the only improvement in legacy are new jerseys. not worth the extra $$$ spent on legacy at all

What? NHL Legacy has far more improvements than jerseys.. What's with this bizarre trend in the NHL gaming community of people just making up and spreading misinformation?
