MLB 15 The Show News Post

The server maintenance scheduled for MLB 15 The Show earlier this morning took a little longer than expected, but they are online now for those of you that were not able to connect this morning. The change notes are listed below.

For those of you curious about the first patch for MLB 15 The Show, Russell has noted they are putting the finishing touches on it now, fixing many of the issues users are currently experiencing. More information will be coming soon.
  • One new Card Pack - Spring Training Standouts (at least one Gold card or better guaranteed, 3 cards total)
  • Change to address the daily stamp and reward issue (please stay tuned for a potential surprise to be announced!).
  • Diamond Dynasty issue where users were getting players from the Free Agent pool when creating a team has been addressed. This was causing bad team setups (lineups and pitching rotations) to be created. Although manually fixable by setting the proper lineup/rotation, this updates fixes current team issues and prevents it from occurring again.

Nice. I was hoping the daily stamp can be fixed w/o a game patch which is a week+ away which means more stamps lost. I bet 5,500 stubs that the surprise is a free pack.

Any word on whether the PS3 will get a patch as well?

I would not take that bet, although 2 free packs might be more appropriate as many of us already should have already earned 2 and are starting on our third 9 day stretch of getting stamps roughly every other day.

daily stamp feature appears to be working finally as I keep going back to home screen and gives me time remaining and stamp count

It all seems weird to me, can someone please explain why playing Diamond dynasty is worth all your time and effort over just playing online ranked games where you actually keep your record from year to year?
Dude not on mode like DD let's you keep cards year to year it would defeat the entire purpose of the mode because by year two every player would have every card and the exam would be pointless

Anyone remember how long it took between release day and the 1st patch that hit (not the patch that coincided with release)?

Was the bug fixed that prevented you from turning the page in executed transactions in the store. It is stuck on page one

A Friend and I purchased this game to play one another ... after almost 2 weeks of trying, we still have NOT been able to play. We send "Challenges" to one another and keep getting "CHALLENGE FAILED" message.

Is anyone else having this issue?

What can we do to fix it?

We both have good connections and both have been able to accept and play lobby games against other users ... just NOT eachother which was the entire reason we bought this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really hope they addressed bunting. Other than that, I have no concerns here at all. Everything else works just fine.

In what sense bobhead?

Do you mean where the pitcher/catcher stare at each other for a few seconds first before one of them goes for it, generally too late to nab the runner at first?

Either he means that, or the frequency and situation when bunts occur that is being discussed in another thread. Like power hitters such as Miguel Cabrera bunting with 2 outs and runners on base, or a slow as molasses catcher trying to bunt for a hit with 2 strikes. This seems to happen a LOT more in RttS more than franchise, season, or exhition games.

Yeah sorry I should have clarified. I mean the success rate and overall high reliability of bunting. I've played about 30-40 games and it seems like literally every bunt perfectly runs down one of the baselines.

More bunts need to "fail," that is, drop right in front of the plate, or be bunted hard back at the pitcher.

The "staring contest" Psycho mentioned is annoying too, but since we don't have a bunt slider, I consider the first problem to be a far larger one.
