MLB 15 The Show News Post

Once in a while it seems that a sports franchise will attempt some kind of radio show or halftime show or some other way of enhancing the realism of your season/franchise mode. FIFA World Cup Brazil was a recent example of this, as that game’s radio show would chime in after you played some matches, providing rough detail on the games played. That was one school of thought on this sort of show, as the radio spot there featured informal conversation that sounded natural but didn’t really have a lot of detail. They would talk about the teams who had played, so that was cool, but there never was any player depth or discussion on big plays or things like that.

I kept my high hopes for this tempered, but it has actually exceeded not only my tempered hopes, but even went above if I had left those expectations unchecked. I finally feel like I know what's going on around the league without constantly checking other teams numbers. I guess it's seeping into my subconscious

The few times I've heard it I definitely like it. I love the idea of them not only expanding the audio database but also the way it could tie into video highlights (fingers crossed).

I really wish they hadn't tied it to Matty V though.

The show has shown no signs that they implement this kind of feature and expand on it year over year. Unfortunately seems like this is what we will have, most likely, for this whole generation of the show games.

How is the radio show tied to Matt?

Wait so hold up. Was scouting getting expanded, difficulty levels getting expanded, pitch count options getting expanded, accessories getting expanded, GM goals getting expanded, pitch trajectories getting expanded, pitch cursor options getting expanded and trade options getting expanded all in my imagination?

So either you can can see into the future or you've been secretly hiding out in our presentation meetings in an alternative universe because we have every intention of expanding upon Inside the show next year.

Initially I wasn't hearing the radio show at all.

I came on here and asked how to get it to play and was told that I needed to have Matty V's audio slider turned on (I had the announcers turned off).

Sure enough, turning his slider up worked.

You just need to sim a day the radio show has nothing to do with Matt you.don't need to lower his audio or anything.

I did.

Without Matt V on, the Radio Show intro music starts but the announcer never says anything. Once I turned Matt V's slider on I was able to hear the scores.

I'll check it here in a bit.

Could you clarify exactly how to get the show to start? Is Sim thru date and/or advance date the only way?

The radio show is great for the way I use it.

1. Play a franchise game.
2. It auto-saves after it's over.
3. Quit and do something else.
4. Come back later or the next day and advance day.
5. Reminded what happened in the last game as the radio show plays.

It's a great way to keep you connected to your franchise between sessions.

Those are gameplay and franchise stuff. Presentation elements such as this have not been expanded or improved. I think if you had properly read my post before you posted, you may have not wasted your time posting random things in the game that were expanded on.

Im not seeing into the future, I'm looking into the past, and present, and seeing no improvement in presentation department for several years. Heck some presentation elements have gone unchanged since ps2. The post game hi lights were a good start years ago, never improved and ultimately removed this year, real time presentation was a good start years ago, wheres that at in your presentation meeting these days? Forgive me for my skepticism that any real improvements will come from a radio show, because other features like this tend to just be there year after year doing the same thing.

Hey Ramone, I just tested it again. Turning Matt V off stops the radio show. You still hear the radio show's music but no announcer.

To let you know what I did, I hit Advance Day with Matt V on. The radio show played.

I then reloaded my save, turned Matt V off and hit Advance Day. The radio show music plays, but the scores from the announcer never do.

Ramone....Justin's voice is tied to the Matty V. audio slider for sure.
As H&V said.....if you play with the announcers down(for a ballpark sounds only kind of game).....the intro music plays...no Justin! Put Matty V. back up and he speaks!

On the topic of the article....I agree.....great start to the Radio Show.
I, like the author points out....really like the supplemental items even more than the scores. The more of the team/league talk they add..the better!
I'm very encouraged by this addition. It really helps to bring the rest of my baseball universe into context without having to hunt down the info.

I do hope they clean it up a bit...it does sound a bit stunted. But I guess pre-recording tons of content would be immense....stitching it together is probably the route they had to go on this.

Yes, seems it only plays the once,i haven't found any way to get it to replay.maybe they could add the option to replay it next year.

and why do you say that? This company when they added things they tend to build on top of it not keep it the same or take it away like some another games do. I really hope it becomes a highlight show at some point in time.

Adding new features is always great! But removing them? What happened to the highlights after a game? Whats up with the framerate? You would expect developers adding and finetuning stuff every new edition..

Anyway, the radio show is a decent effort and hopefully they will build in this and not remove it in the next edition.

Well, that's your problem. I agree that it's stupid to buy a system for any one game; but if you thought you'd want a baseball game one day you knew what system you'd have to buy.

Sony isn't going to be making games for Xbox, just as Microsoft isn't making PS4 games.

I can make a list and show you these things, but most fans of this game (like you) do not want to see that pink elephant in the room.

Has nothing to do with the pink elephant in the room. Sure there are some things that could be expanded more then they have been but no video game expands on everything. You could make like a 100 page report of all the things madden has taken out or things that have gotten worse lol. There are quit a few people on hear that are upset about things that like commentary or things like the foul ball camera ect so people are not over looking things like you think they are.
