MLB 15 The Show News Post

While we often praise The Show series for its small but meaningful changes, MLB 15: The Show does offer one giant change: Diamond Dynasty has been completed revamped.

The core system of the past, which featured fictional players who evolved over time, is gone. Instead, we are given a much more streamlined approach to collecting cards and building a team.

Good start need a lot more depth and ways to play beside online CPU and extra innings. Also need new cards during the year to keep it fresh.
Overall a good start but definitely needs to be built upon for next year

I hated the 'contracts' system that felt like it was based on MUT. Never liked MUT because of those.

The new system has me much more interested in playing Diamond Dynasty, even if just against the CPU teams, because I am terrible at fielding

My ideal system would be an 'offline' DD that let me create my own team and then replace one of the real MLB teams with mine and play a full season like I do in Franchise.

I can dream...

I also suck at fielding and especially running so I also only see myself trying out the offline mode extra innings mode now and again.

As for stacked teams. As long as you can buy stubs for real money and buy legends and superstars with stubs then there will be people willing to pay to stack their team. Personally I would never spend $20 bucks or more to get a diamond player or legend, but I am guessing that there are those who will.

There is no screen to look at you're stats. You can scroll through player cards one by one to check stats, but that's ridiculous. Also, maybe this is just me, they don't keep stats at all for you're created player. Every game appears as his first game. And you can pre-set lineups for facing lefty and righty pitching. You just have one lineup. Which is annoying. There is no option to have a dh. And there is no fatigue from previous games taken into account. Which means every game you can go to the bullpen whenever you want and have no problem having fresh arms for every game. A lot needs to be fixed.

*can't preset lineups.

I hate that you cant set multiple lineups based on pitcher L/R

I also hate that there is no "quick sell" option for cards like they have in NHL 15.

other than that, I am enjoying it thus far.

I've been playing The Show since 2008 but this is first I've ever enjoyed Diamond Dynasty. I'll keep playing DD until the O.S.F.M. rosters are released then jump to Franchise.

despite them talking like "they aren't one of those games that just wants you to buy packs"... they are... the rewards for games are horrible, NBA 2K15 at least gave you some good cards to start out with MLB gives you players rated 50-70 after every game

has anyone encountered a problem where they win the game then get back to the main menu and it says they lost, i just won in 9 innings a game 3-2 and when the main menu loaded it said i had lost the game, second time it happened

The card collecting is fun, but beyond that, it lacks the depth that FUT has.

I pulled a diamond McCutchen after a game. They are super rare but there are good pulls after games

I got a Diamond Max Scherzer Reward card for playing every day!

I can't get lucky enough to draw anything good postgame...Last 4 games I've played I received 3 Silver Batting Gloves or Cleats and a Bronze player...All while playing the Dodgers, Nats and Tigers (winning 3 of 4) in either Veteran, All-Star or Hall of Fame...

I'm really enjoying the mode. It's mostly what I play just so I can get 2 cards after the game.

Fatigue would be annoying, that's what franchise is for. It already makes your starting pitcher random, that's enough.
Actually that helps, but not in Extra Innings mode when someone plays your AI team that you set up with only one lineup option.

The one thing I do not like: not being able to collect virtual trophies for mini themed single player tournaments or something like that. The games do not work towards anything. They are just 3 forms of single isolated games. I love the fact that you get cards after any game mode and that you are essentially always building your collection. I enjoy collecting cards in real life, and it is pretty fun virtually as well.

I have become addicted to diamond dynasty. I can see it being my mode of choice for online.

The card collecting, team customization, and ranking system are right up my alley.
