MLB 15 The Show News Post

Check out the latest MLB 15 The Show video and blog with more details on universal rewards, licensed equipment and 30 Legends. At the end of the video, the team reveals 30 Legend cards included in the game.

Quote:
In the last couple years, we’ve added something we call your Universal Profile, which tracks your playstyle tendencies and passively rewards you with XP and Stubs while you play. This year, in addition to XP and Stubs, you’ll earn new Items usable throughout different game modes.

Road to the Show is a mode focused on one player’s path to the majors and beyond. As you play, you’ll find different qualities of licensed equipment that can enhance your player’s attributes. Once you find them, you’ll equip them to your player for an instant boost to his skill. Your player has slots for a Bat, Batting Gloves, Fielding Glove, Cleats, and echoing the traditions of our sport, a Ritual item.

Franchise is a mode focused on managing baseball organizations on every level. Periodically, you’ll find Brand Sponsorship contracts. Once you have the contract in hand, you can choose at any time to partner your Franchise team with the Brand. Doing so will add some Brand flavor to your interface during game broadcasts. The Sponsorship also earns your team budget incentives based on how you performance in a certain statistic.

Diamond Dynasty is a fantasy baseball card mode where you build a custom team and assemble players you find into a squad. Diamond Dynasty is DRASTICALLY changed this year so keep an eye out for a more focused blog about it. MLB Player Cards and Stadiums Cards will be rewarded as you play. While playing ANY mode, you’ll be passively building a fantasy squad of MLB pros.

Collect an entire MLB team or get REALLY lucky with a pack, and you’ll unlock an iconic alumni player from one of 30 MLB teams.

We’re very excited this year that we’ve partnered with nine iconic baseball brands to bring items from their product catalog directly into the game. We are lucky to have such amazing partners. Check out this list of awesomeness:
  • Franklin®
  • Louisville Slugger®
  • Nike®
  • Under Armour®

I like the new franchise home screen they showed with the upcoming opponents in the bottom left hand corner, the starters for the next game on the left side of the screen, and the league updates in the middle.

Yeah, I sort of agree, but more because the boosts seem to be too much. If it were to just add a couple points to 1 or 2 attributes, that would be one thing. But from what I saw the boosts shown were quite heavy.

Cliff Floyd??? Cliff Floyd????

Sheffield!!!! I would even take Mr. Marlin Jeff Conine over....Cliff Floyd???

Other than that a super strong list of players. Glad to see the Crime Dog made it in for the Rays.

I am the farthest thing from being a White Sox fan but they got hosed with Jack McDowell. So many great Sox players and they pick him?

I know he said equipment doesn't transfer once you continue your franchise you have to go in and change player equipment manually. I didn't see him say anything about RTTS unless I missed it somewhere........

Glad that Ernie Banks is in the game.

And Ozzie! The Wizard of Oz!

It would be nice if they had an option in RTTS that made it so equipment was purely aesthetic for those who want that.

But I frankly want they to go even further with this concept. I want an actual baseball RPG. RTTS has many RPG concepts in basic forms now so I only hope they take it further. It's a video game after all. For those that don't want these things, make them optional and/or aesthetic only.

Sighhhhhhh...no bonds..
I have a feeling all of the Big-Time legends everyone wants will come in a DLC pack later

You probably can't answer this yet since it is probably falls under presentation but how does it work then when you have more than one sponsor?

# 50 swordfish7 @ 02/10/15 11:36 PM
Are the places in the video where you can have sponsor logos the only ones in the game?

I would love to know if we could play Homerun derby with the Legends. Seeing Bagwell and Clark makin it rain again would be magic

All I can say is wow. I have been a life-long fan of The Show and the addition of real brands is always something I dreamed about having played the sport my whole life. It is great seeing it finally in the game and I think it was very clever the way they implemented these new features (including new diamond dynasty format which I might now play for once). The guys at San Diego Studios just keep on delivering year after year. Only thing i'm bummed about is not being able to get the anniversary addition because I live in Canada. Other than that, looks to be a great year of The Show!

So they changed the way we can edit mitts now. Previously we only had 3 options. Now we have 9.

New options from video.
Glove Brand
Glove Style
Glove Back Color
Glove Web Style
Glove Web Color
Glove Palm Color
Glove Trim Color
Glove Binding Color
Glove Welting Color

I'd say that is as deep as customization can go. For anyone who has seen the equipments edits I do for rosters this is huge for guys like me.

Hoping we can still change the color of cleats... Love that real equipment is in the game, just want to be able to change the colors for teams.

Looks better with colors rather than the cleats just being black huh?

Anyways man idk according to the video cleats still look to be locked. Check out the video when they show the UA cleats in the player editor.

LOL, say what you want about them, but Show fans don't let a single thing get past them!
