MLB 15 The Show News Post

We're just now beginning to understand what we can expect in MLB 15: The Show -- today we got the MLB 15 Fact Sheet -- so it seems the right time to start talking about the little touches we're hoping to see in MLB 15. Today's video is inspired by the Little Things thread on the forums, and it includes some of the small touches Chase Becotte would like to see touched up in Sony's next baseball title.

Can we please add numbers on the baserunners when viewed on the base running screen❗️

FYI load times have been reduced across the board.

Great video. I agree with most all of it. Especially the roofs. PLEASE add the closed roofs. I know it's not happening this year, but gosh, we need them.

Is the "smell my finger" guy going to still be there this year?

Any word on improved frame rate during cutscenes/presentation? That was my biggest gripe with MLB 14.

Yes, good points.. One other thing, and perhaps it was due to my lack of hitting ability but it seemed the catchers dropped third strikes an awful lot. I'm very much looking forward to the game and I'm hoping I get home on time next Thursday to see the twitch broadcast.

No word. Russell has dodged that question.

Good video, Chase! I agree with all of your points, especially the load times. Glad those have been addressed.

I wouldn't mind seeing the return of umpire crews, maybe this time 4 each for each league, and bat boys actually doing their job after walks.

It's interesting that closed roofs are mentioned. That sounds like a big thing to me. Otherwise they would have added it by now. Call me crazy if you want but I'll be passing on 15 for that reason.

Yep not hearing that this has been improved has me worried. Hopefully it's been fixed.

Not much interest in the show, but I want to kudos on the video. This is a big step in the right direction as far as content the site offers. Haven't been here in a while to know if videos like this are the norm now, but if not then they should be. Good work OS crew.

Framerate in games that are still in development is a constant proces of optimisation. This is a proces that goes on till the very last days so I'm sure they're doing all they can and won't/can't say anything on the matter until it goes gold.

The frame rate in cut scenes really need to be fixed. The choppyness was bad and hurt my eyes and enjoyment of 14.
If they're not going to fix it they should just completely remove cut scenes out the game because it hurts the presentation.

what D-Man said!

Great video! Fun to see other little things people pick up on...

We share a gripe: As a typeface enthusiast, I'm super tired of Conduit ITC. It's been nearly a decade of the same font set. Time to freshen up the UI and find some better fixed width type. I know it sounds dumb to many people, but there's plenty of awesome, inexpensive type that's been created in the past several years. It would go a long way in giving the menu and presentation experience a refresh.

There was one more I wanted to add, but it wasn't happening offline -- so perhaps it was just an online thing:

Sometimes random geometry from the stadium pops on to the screen during pitching changes, breaks between innings etc. It's stadium geometry that certainly shouldn't make it on camera.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about or have I been imagining it?

PS, hipster fans wearing Player 0 jerseys could be called out too.

Why doesn't the Show have a version like myteam...or madden ultimate team...Im not talkign about that diamond dynasty crap.. Im talking like assembling a team with Historic/Current players and having auction house etc...

Thoughts?

Good call on the "Player 0" jerseys. If they could have the fans wear real player jerseys and, even better, have it so the amount of jerseys is proportional to the player's popularity--that would be a pretty huge little thing for immersion. They do a good job with fans wearing lots of different styles of team gear already.

Only thought I have is I'd have zero use for it like I have zero use for MUT.

So doesn't bather me at all it's not there.
If enopugh people want it, it may be added at some point I guess.
