There's a new Game Update for DRIVECLUB. It's a small one (0.15GB), mainly supporting the recent server upgrades and enhancing the in-game audio for the dynamic weather systems.
This update also fixes corrupt challenges and removes the never-ending spinning load icons, along with other minor bug fixes and performance improvements across the game.
It's available worldwide now. More server upgrades and game updates are in the works, so please keep sharing your thoughts and feedback with us to help shape the future of the game. Thanks everyone.
I would say if you aren't really good at racing games, don't buy this. The difficulty is thru the roof. The developers made a huge mistake not offering difficulty levels in the game. I raced a 5 lap race and was ahead 4 out of the 5 laps. At the beginning of lap 5, 2 cars passed me and the race was lost. It takes way too long to unlock cars also.
I think what some people do not understand is: All cars can be unlocked fairly quickly without ever going into the Tour mode. I unlocked 90 % of the cars just by playing the single event races and time trails. You can set the amount of laps, time of day, amount of A.I. Cars and the difficulty. I spent my time just racing single events and learning the courses while ranking up and unlocking cars. Then I went into tour mode.
I do agree once you get to the Pro and Legend races in Tour it gets difficult. But I like a challenge. I wouldn't say if you aren't good at racing game don't buy this. I would say if you don't love racing games don't buy this. I can spend weeks just running single events with the A.I. And really enjoy the game, but I love racing games, and this one is very very good.
Got this today. This is probably the best looking game on PS4 so far. It looks good when it's clear, great when it's snowing, but I'm super impressed by the visuals when it's raining.
I'm really struggling with the difficulty so far though. If Semi-pro is the starting difficulty, I don't know how I'm going to get very far. Hopefully it gets easier as I learn the game. The only real issue I have so far is that I get penalized when the AI rams into me, plus they don't seem to be slowed down when they run into me like I am when I run into them. Doesn't seem right.

I agree that the user gets the raw end of the impact penalty a bit too often, but I find that as long as I'm holding a line on the track I don't get the penalty quite as frequently when trading paint. If you veer into another car's line in a turn, yeah, you're probably going to get hit with the fame penalty.
As for the slowing down bit, I think that only happens to the user when you really plow a car from behind and use their rear bumper as your brake - it gets a different penalty "Collision Penalty" and throttles your speed for a few seconds in the same way that cutting a corner does. I haven't noticed a slowdown when getting the normal car impact penalties, and I don't think the AI is affected by either speed penalty.

I believe there are a couple difficulty levels below semi pro
