MLB 15 The Show News Post

As many of you noticed in the MLB 15 The Show trailer released yesterday (shown at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...JXNRTXMGOEJALL and GameStop as well), the game will be download only for PlayStation Vita users and cost $19.99, the PlayStation 3 version will be $39.99. Just wanted to point it out, for those that were not aware.
  • Licensed Equipment - For the first time ever, partnerships from various brands will bring accurate bats, gloves, cleats, and batting gloves to the game.
  • Year-to-Year Saves - Users who purchased MLB 14 The Show will be able to continue their Franchise and Road to the Show progress in MLB 15 The Show.
  • Universal Rewards - Simply playing the game earns Stubs that can be spent on licensed equipment, Road to The Show improvements, and virtual baseball cards.
  • Legends - We're introducing 30 Iconic MLB Alumni into our virtual player card pool, 1 representative for each team. These players span every historic baseball era of the last 70 years.
  • And that's just the beginning. A new Radio Show, Directional hitting, improved load times, and a completely overhauled Diamond Dynasty mode help MLB 15 The Show prove that Baseball Is Better.

Great decision in my opinion. Vita owners get to play the game and SCEA limits costs by not mass producing discs copies.

Win-win

This has nothing to do with it, but I just can't wait to hear what this radio show is.

Maybe the reason why it is digital download only for the vita was because they wanted to fit more in mlb 15 than they could on a vita gamecard. I don't know..just thinking positively.

So you can't download for PS3?

You know what? I haven't ever played The Show on Vita (and it's been years since I've played it on console), but this makes me interested. It's a damn good price for jumping in!

Probably just going to be a roster update (in the sense that I shouldn't expect polygons to increase much or new options for the ball size or something), but I am more than in for the Vita version, especially since Remote Play has just a little too much lag to actually play the PS4 version on it.

I was probably 80%/20% on Vita vs. PS3 for MLB 13, and I missed out getting any copies this year because I was just too damn busy. They'll be getting $80 from me this year though.

I am pretty excited it is a Vita download. Smart move SCEA

I hope not living in Australia much easier to download then wait a week for a disk to get here in the mail from overseas
As poor as Vita sales have been I bet more people use the Vita than people who use Vista.

They meant that the Vita version is download only. You will definitely be able to download the PS4 version. No clue on the PS3 version, but I'm sure that will be as well.

As someone who has owned the Vita version every year, I really hope they keep making it. I love my Vita, and I love playing the Show on it. I spend a lot of time in airports and it is a great time-killer.

I agree. I love playing the Show on my Vita. If they ever stop making the Show for Vita that may be the first year I skip buying it.

$19.99 and download only?

So Vita is on life support, and we'll still get the funky looking CAP faces? That's not what it says, but that's what I'm hearing.

Dude, limitations of the system. Get over it, it's not going to get fixed. And complaining about it every year doesn't help. The Show on Vita is already super robust for a handheld game. See Fifa, Madden, etc.

If it's a game killer for you, don't buy it. That simple.

If it were a limitation of the system then all players would have the same awful looking faces. Nice try though!

Not long now until Vita goes the same way as the PSP.

Sony may eventually realise the market for handhelds just isnt there anymore, in the way it was in the 90's early 2000's.

You can't expect Vita to have the same face rendering options as the PS3, let alone the PS4. And the goofy looking faces come about because they were created on a home console for OSFM, and transferred over to the Vita.

If OSFM started on the Vita and was transferred over to PS3/4, the messed up faces wouldn't be a problem. But then they'd all come out looking too generic.

So yes, I feel that it absolutely is a limitation of the system. I'm not saying the faces wouldn't get messed up on default rosters (such as when a new class comes in, gets generated on PS4 and ported over- you'd likely run into the same problem). I just know that the majority of gripes on this topic relate to OSFM.

I was hoping they would do some kind of discount for the Vita version if you owned the PS4 version. This is better than I even hoped.

The Vita wishes it had the success the PSP did.

I love my Vita and since I bought it mostly for The Show, I'm happy about the digital download and lower cost.

Same here. I have a 3DS and Vita. When I travel for work, I always take the Vita so I can play The Show and watch YouTube and Netflix.
