EA Sports UFC News Post

Legends are coming to EA Sports UFC next month. You can check out a short video here, but it doesn't reveal much.

While plenty of free content has arrived since the game launched, that doesn't necessarily mean this will be. During an interview with UndisputedOnline, back in May, Creative Director Brian Hayes mentioned there would be a charge for specialty fighters.

Quote:
When I asked him about missing fighters (Like last night's new BW Champion, T.J. Dillashaw), he said they will try and get new fighters put in the game often (especially if T.J. had won tonight -- and he DID!) He said these types of "Roster Updates" would be free-of-charge. They would only charge for "DLC Fighters" if they were specialty ones. i.e. like a different Bruce Lee or "Younger" version of fighter. He said people would probably ask why Tito or Rampage are not in the game, but those type of added fighters would probably get turned down by Dana White.

UPDATE: Legends will be free. (Thanks @kevinmurphy17!)

UPDATE #2: Mark Coleman, Matt Hughes and Quinton Rampage Jackson have been revealed.

As we get closer to an actual release date, we will definitely hear more details about it.

Until then, what do you think about this news? Which legends would you like to see added to the roster?

This will be a free DLC.
You guys are doing excellent work with the game. This is how you earn more day one buys in the future. Bought the game day 1, and will buy the second game day 1 just because of how well you've supported and made the game better. Keep up the good work guys.

Jazz confirmed that Legend #1 is Coleman.

Jazz also re-tweeted someone who said the Brock is one of the 4 silhouettes.

I would be inclined to think the same about Brock but, and obviously I don't really know and none of us here do (except some of the devs possibly), but Brock's contract seems much more lenient than most WWE guys. He barely even appears on shows even as champion, it seems like Brock was pretty much able to say this is how things will go, take it or leave it and WWE did as requested, so I wouldn't be surprised if his contract does allow him to take advantage of opportunities like this.

Again, I have no idea, just speculating, but certainly Brock is much more "free" than most WWE guys.

Hahahahaahahaha

This is the same Brock Lesnar who works WWE TV with his own sponorships on his MMA shorts.

He is the same Brock Lesnar that basically can make his own schedule.

I think they would let him be on the UFC game if he wanted.

In fairness to this point, those sponsorships already existed so it's likely WWE couldn't do much about it if they wanted Lesnar.

Well, yeah, that's my point. If they allowed him to have his own sponsors, then they would let him make deals like being in a UFC game if he wanted to.

Matt Hughes is the second legend.

Since they're updating with each announcement, they changed the Twitter background in regards to the fourth shadow. The head is totally rounded off now, or replaced entirely (the body is still the same shape), and the shadow is a little further away from the third shadow.

Either there's a last-minute change or they thought the shadow was too obvious?

I think its Bas Rutten. Rampage is under his Bellator contract which probably precludes him from being in a UFC game.

Makes sense. I figured that they'd focus on guys who had more fights in the UFC, but maybe not. I don't recall Bas having much of a UFC career.

Only 2 fights but he won the HW championship.

Didn't know that. All I've really seen of Bas is clips of him slapping dudes up in Pancrase and his final fight at the WFA PPV.

The most recent clue looks a lot like Rampage, especially the forehead, I'm not getting my hopes up though.

Rampage it is!
