NBA 2K15 News Post

If you are a gamer who simply doesn't have a ton of time to devote to gaming, be it fatherhood or a busy job, NBA 2K15 has an answer for you. Many gamers still want the thrill of managing a team through an 82 game season and playing some of the more crucial moments along the way, which is an underrated way to play sports games with long seasons.

Enter Simcast.

You can manage strategies during the simulation, you need only pause, and you can jump into a game whenever you feel like it. If you want to seal the deal on a big win or attempt a big comeback you can. If you feel the strategy you are employing is working, you can simply sit back and let the game finish simming in less than a minute.

Let's put it this way, I'm 44 games into my serious MyGM mode doing SimCast and I've never once felt too out of control of what happens. I'm still setting team strategy and lineups on gameday, and I'm still able to jump in and affect the results of games personally without needing to spend 30-60 minutes to get the result.

While other companies still struggle to offer such things as 'Super-Sim', 2K Sports has managed to blow past all expectations and make a text-sim, traditional AAA title hybrid even still. This form of simming and jumping in has been around awhile, but the depth of setting strategies and more to affect the simulation has only gotten better.

Simply put, if you are someone who has a time budget for gaming -- it's incredibly possible to go through an 82 game schedule and feel like you were a part of it and still find time to play a second and third season before 2K16 launches. NBA 2K15's SimCast is perhaps its most underrated and most under appreciated feature.

probably a dumb question, but do sliders affect sim results?

Not a dumb question, and I'll piggyback off of it.

Are the simulated stats reasonable? How do FG% and REB #'s look for a game played with full length quarters?

I have NBA 2k15 sitting at home unopened because I've been playing Madden too much. However, if SimCast delivers true, solid simulation stats I am going to have to get into it tonight.

When you see the other games wich have been developped for years and you realise that you will need to buy 2 or 3 DLC to get the full experience, you realise how deep out of the box Nba 2K is.
Except if you're still on PS3..

Just tried this feature.

I jumped into the game in the 4th Quarter and it showed player of the game (12 Minute Quarters)

I might try jumping in right after halftime and see if it still shows highlights and player of the game. If so, this will be my new plan for MyLeague.

EDIT: I just jumped in the game at the beginning of the 3rd Quarter. Highlights were at the end of the game, of course they were only highlights from the 2nd half, but I really enjoy them so I will be doing this from now on.

2) Give no VC unless you play the whole game.
3) Give VC if you play a select amount of the game (perhaps one half or one quarter).

Each of these has bad game play implications.

1) If VC is awarded regardless of the amount played (more than 0 minutes) gamers will farm VC this way and it will cascade into ruining balance in MyCareer/MyPark.
2) If VC is not awarded unless the entire game is played, players that rely on simcast to enjoy MyGM cannot advance in the RPG game mode.
3) if VC is not awarded unless a select amount of the game is played it really defeats most of the upside to simcast.

My answer: eliminate VC altogether in MyGM. Create a separate currency (GMC?). Allow GMC to be earned even if the whole game is simcast. Done.
There's a new progression system that doesn't rely on VC. We have XP which is earned through simulated games, played games and awards. You earn XP just fine using SimCast, you earn XP by just simulating the game too. VC can only be earned by fully playing the game, but VC can only be used to buy persuasive pitches and to level up faster.

I could never understand why they didn't have this in the game.
When they announced this was in my hype for the game went from about 6 to 9.
I have a chance to get through multiple seasons while having an impact on games with stats similar to real life, meaning that the draft will be worthwhile and just more of a reason to get deeper into the game.

I'll definitely check it out, but right now I'm enjoying playing every minute. This will come in handy when trying to rebuild teams, and getting the rough years over quicker lol.

Mr.Smif, I don't know what you are talking about, but it is implemented during user vs cpu games. I don't know if you can go back and fourth, but you can do it against the cpu

Now only of they allowed you to spectate MyGm mode. This has been something I have been missing severely in MyGm and Maddens CFM.

This has been a really nice feature. Controlling 4 teams in MyLeague, I can basically simcast through the season and jump in for games that I'm particularly interested in/obviously play a full game whenever I want as well.

I have been DYING for a basketball sim like OOTP (and with basketball's growing popularity in the world you'd think someone would jump on that), but with simcast the itch is at least partially scratched. Love it so far!

Cool! That is a great feature..

Agreed! Simcast is amazing, love using it

This has been the only way I have played the game so far. Amazing. Have been wanting this feature in 2k for forever and it has been pretty much perfect.

Adding simcast and my league and I can finally stop devoting 80% of my 2k time to my career

They already did this, you earn XP in my gm which lets you level up in that mode. You just also earn a bit of VC for the games you play. Although I'm not sure if you actually earn XP for SimCast games.

It has been hinted at here but can you REENTER a sim cast game? I cannot find an option. I entered the sim cast as I was getting blown out in the 1stQ, entered the game, got a 10 point lead, changed the o and d, then wanted to just is cast..NOT sim to the end and lose all the VC! But I also want to be able to REENTER the game if things go south...is any of this possible? I cannot find an optio other than save and quit I'd sim to the end. I hope they allow resin casting back and forth cause this makes the game SO much better for season play!

And where Is the option to use the SPARTA pitch or ANY team chemistry pitch? I have it unlocked but no option any place for this either!

Thanks guys..have fun!

I'm have the same question as you. I do not believe that you can, but what I do is (on the Xbox1) tap A to start simulation then quickly tap it again as quick as I can. This seems to move possession by possession. This is how I do it while making gameplan changes throughout. Wish there was a fast forward/slow down option, but for now this works fine. Hope this helps.

Ty,
Would be nice if you could enter more than once though. Why would they care how many times you go in a out...makes playing out a whole season a lot more fun yet quicker.
