Single Player in FH2 is just as good as online. There's the career mode where you go to different locations and compete. There's bucket list stunts, a few showdowns, barn finds, and just exploring.
While the XB1 has better online with the seamless transitions than the 360 version, the modes are pretty comparable. If you enjoy racing online or want to explore the design aspects, then it's a nice addition.
Single player can get tedious/boring after a while though, so I find online as a way to extend the lifetime of the game for me. But assuming you're asking for XB1, then the graphics and features + single player make it worth it still.
Im in debate on picking this up or Forza 5 GOTY with my X1 on Black Friday. How big of an area is there to explore? Never played a Horizon game so its new to me on what exactly to expect.
Horizon 2 is at the very top of the racing heap. It delivers in every respect. Graphics, handling, fun...By far the best open-world racing title I have played. I've been playing The Crew some, and while I like it more than most other folks, the more I play The Crew the more I realize what a great game Horizon 2 is.
I've only had it for a couple of days, but this is the first game I truly feel is a next gen experience. This is the prettiest game I've seen on the xbone so far. And the use of driveatars isntead of ai racers really makes this feel like a real world.
Is everyone playing this game with just the XB1 controller? Or do you need a wheel?
I'm only using a controller, and I absolutely love it, and have since launch. Logged way to many hours playing this game, all of them with a controller, no issues whatsoever. The XB1 controller, and it's triggers make this really possible IMO.
I've had this game for over a week and undoubtly the best racer I've ever played. I'm 99 percent offline and loving it. Online is fun too but I love single player. This is the best next gen title out there and a system seller for XBO.
Try to find time to play it nightly, at least for an hour. I have not done that w/ a game in a long time.
I just received this for xmas and was wondering if there is anything I should know or do out of the box!!!?
Just start racing. Game is pretty simple and not that big of a learning curve. You have to unlock online but it isn't that far into the game when you get the ability. Just start the game and enjoy.

Thanks! New to XBone and can't find my buddies cause I don't know their exact user name. Mine is taddo007 if anyone wants to add me.
Never played a open world racing game. This is pretty awesome so far. Not a very good racer and playing Forza is a lot different then this. Forza is more of a sim game and this isn't and I don't have to be afraid of cutting corners and bumping guys. I know some of the other on my friends list won't like my Drivatar is now roaming the streets. Sorry!
Hey fellas has this game gone on sale before; just checking to see if 59.99 is worth a digital download.
i think there was one digital sale - either $10 or $20 off, i forget. i have seen the disk version on sale for $40 a couple of times too. very good game. maybe there is a sale coming on the other side of e3? we're definitely going to see a lot of forza 6.

Thanks Murph17; I am deciding as we speak on digital or physical. From what I'm reading it seems to have a ton of replay value and I usually just by one or two car games max per console lifespan.
Never really been THAT into racing games but I decided to pick this up along with the console and Halo MCC yesterday and absolutely loving this open world feel so far.
My brother (who almost never plays video games) picked this up and convinced me to get a copy. For someone who hasn't really enjoyed a racing game since Need for Speed: Underground 2, I love this game.
It's very well made, the objectives can be challenging and it's a lot of fun online. I highly recommend the Storm Island expansion for rally fans out there too. That's been my favorite part.
