NBA 2K15 News Post

2K Sports announced and detailed the 2K Heroes mode during the GameStop Expo livestream. You can watch the archive here, starting at roughly the 1:33:18 mark.

2K Heroes mode is a charity driven online head to head mode, exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The team that wins the most from launch until All-Star Weekend, will receive a donation for that person's charity of choice from 2K.

If you recall, back in November of 2013, Michael Jordan selected four guys he'd run with in a pick-up hoops game. 2K Sports ran with that in their 2K Heroes mode. They selected 8 players to form their pick-up teams. Those players include Shaq, David Robinson, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, James Worthy, and Steph Curry. You can see their respective squads in the screenshots below.

Who would you run with?

Looking more and more like NBA2k15 for Xbox360 and PS3 is full of Gimic Modes. Nothing of substance yet. Very disappointing.

Ronnie2k-5 versions of shaq?? Actually I think the last gen versions are almost perfect in a sense, they still hold graphically well and gameplay is still great even better in some areas to next gen. I love the gimmic modes, Jordan era, showcase, lebron ptg, wish there was more with different players

A mix of 7-8 legends/current players made teams picking their starting 4 (Each legend/current player is included on their team making a total of 5)based on players from NBA History-Present. That legend/current has a charity they wish to donate to. Depending on which player's team wins the most online 2k will donate to that player's chosen charity.

Make sense since the bulk of the development time was probably spent on current gen or "new" gen systems and porting that over to PC. Why people are surprised by this is beyond me, though. What do y'all think happened with NBA 2K after the transition from XBox/PS2 to XBox 360/PS3? Nothing but simple roster updates, added rookies and cosmetic changes where necessary.

Team Robinson all day! The twin towers, plus lebron attacking from the perimeter and bird and john stockton shooting and making sick passes? that should be fun. I'm planning to buy the ps4 in some time, if the price goes down but also if the new games are good enough. NBA 2k is what I play most, and it seems like they are still figuring it out with the new generation.

Meanwhile, I think this will be a pretty cool addition. I'd still rather have better spacing and off the ball movement of teammates, or improvements to association mode, but this adds some much appreciated (by me at least) colour to online play.

Just waiting for the "This is Lebron's Favorite mode" jokes....

All they would have to do is fix the CAP and CAT glitches and ADD a few Attribute/Tendencies and Roster Update. I didnt expect all of the Current Gen stuff, but i dont think burying Last Gen was a good idea.

Team Shaq looks pretty cool.

Unique concept, however--and I recognize the potential licensing issues here--it would be more relevant if users could pick their own 'pick-up' team.

Something different and great all the way around. If you play it, you are essentially supporting all the charities. Should be fun to see the most used team come All-Star weekend.

Love that you guys working for Charity.

Will there be ANY news on actual Association Mode, CAP, CAT or any other features that Hardcore players want to know. Or Will we just have to wait Until Oct. 7 to find out?

Is this the 77 version or the 85 version of Dr. J? Also, still no Kareem?

Not much has been divulged yet. Why do you think it's mostly gimmicks? You know Association is going to be there.

Well it is less than month away and NO Details, besides Crew and 2k Heroes. I know Association will be there, but will it have any improvements? I mean the LACK of info for it is not a good sign. Also the lack of Communication is puzzling as well. Hopefully i am wrong, but when Games lack details this close to release it leads to belief it will just be the Gimmicks(Crew, Heroes) and no substance. Meaning no fix of CPU AI in Association Mode, Glitches with CAP/CATs, etc.
