I also find scoring is pretty easy. There are ways you can score at a high percentage in this series and nothing has changed this gen. In the crease skating from right to left of the goalie and shooting it left or blocker side of goal tender, = SCORE.

I got to say I am enjoying the demo and looking forward to next Tuesday. There is definitely still some work to do but the groundwork I believe is there and I will have a lot of fun with this game.

One thing that I have tried that I never had before was play on True broadcast (heard some people mentioning it on here). It was a little tricky to get used to but the visual aspect is amazing, looks real. I didn't realize you could see plays happening that I didn't see before and I found it more fun setting up in the offensive end. I think it makes it more of a challenge offensively and defensively and can't wait to start a Be A GM with it.

Yeah, didnt play any other camera than True Broadcast in NHL14, except in BaP of course. Had problem last year with bottom corners since sometimes camera didnt pan there enough. Especially on forecheck but havent encountered that in demo so that's good.
Remember to change aim setting to Always Up which help alot in True Broadcast camera. Especially if youre using skillstick.

Thats the issue a lot of us are having. It's the same groundwork for 5+ years.

I only play offline and have always been able to tweak this game fine so I have little issue with gameplay .
I know how to draw penalties ect but I find the NHL 15 Demo tweaked perfectlyvery fun and much improved and though many things might be hard to see EA has done a great job on realism while still staying truly interactive .

Gameplay wise also notice the AI reacts more realistic like if they get a leads they tighten up the neutral zone and get more defensive and same on offense but not the blatant baa7serker mode .

Its seems some want the show on Ice but careful what you wish for unless you just want to watch programmed things unfold you have little control of

The graphics are beautiful the overlays and ambiance are much improved and the horns wow and by far the best crowd in any sports game and I enjoy the whole NHL on NBC presentation and it even looks like they added a few new goalie masks .
So as long as they havent removed some type of total roster control this game is gonna get me to BAK in 2015 ! Demo get 10 out of 10 stars !

Haha yeah I realized that after about playing 1 period without switching controls to always up, was entertaining at least.

For you guys claiming that this game is fun to play with or an improvement from previous series....I honestly dont know where you guys are seeing these... I just played 5 games with no penalties, easy to go the zones, AI (opponent) defense is horrible, same issues regarding the goalie. In one of the games, I was carrying the puck going into the zone, my teammates were still in NZ, the AI defense guy (just 1 because pass by th other one) did not evn put defensive pressure or whatsoever, was able to skate near the goalie and scored a backhand.

Instead of having the joy of scoring...i was so pissed at the d-man not even making a contact or give prssure to help his goalie. I know this is just a demo, which is supposed to be a foretaste of the game....but this demo is giving a very sour and bitter taste. Yeah, even after venting out in this forum, I can still taste the awful taste of this game.

It reminded me of the awful wwf warzone recorded fmv's on the original playstation

Are you playing on rookie? I get pressured all the time on all star. At least once I hit the offensive zone.

As for penalties I don't understand how people expect a ton of penalties on a 2 minute period when fresh guys are always on the ice!?

I guess people want a penalty every 20 seconds?

Is the gameplay a giant leap forward? No. Its only evolutionary. But the NHL team is probably the same size as the madden art team, and they aren't going to make it hardcore "Sim" and lose 90% of the little market they have.

I agree but they need to stop promoting, "For our hardcore players, we have..."

I remember when false advertising was a crime.

But they don't. They don't even promise a Sim really.

They promise an "authentic hockey" experience. Never have they said its the hardcore hockey simulator.

We will never get NZ pressure and full stick on body collisions because they have decided its not "fun".

I forgot to put this: All Star - Hardcore.

Gameplay is evolutionary? I thought evolution go forward and continuous improvement, this game IS SO FAR behind what you call evolutionary, IMO.

I am not saying to make it SOLELY SIM, at least give your consumer A CHOICE. When EA say hardcore, I EXPECT HARDCORE, as in hardcore/true to life hockey ala NHL...and not just bump the AI to a super-dooper-godly-player.

He must be on rookie and great points man its freakin 6 minute demo and people wanna see everything but most of that depends on how you play !
I also like when I start trouble and dont drop the gloves we both go off for two.

Its so nice Ea hasnt turned this into a sim rpg like the show has become because its really cool to feel like what I do matters through being interactive as it should still be a video game first .

I mean its a video game have fun and even after a great game they worry that pass % was a tad high , shots were low ect lol so it wrecked the whole experience

Fun is a factor and if you want a hardcore sim go find many cpu hockey games , strato is a great one

Just preordered it. I haven't sought out any info on Be A GM. But being their first game on next gen, and me not playing the game last year, I'll be very disappointed if Be A GM feels the same as it did in 13...

sliders are your friend and its not easy but i can make the game play any way i want while still playing sim but seriously enjoy all the good things this game does too or why even play if it upsets you so .

The more I play the demo, the more I think my decision to cancel my preorder was the right one. The gameplay doesn't really feel all that different, and I've seen too many things (I've seen too much man!!!) that bothered me in previous years (like a low puck hit the goalie in the pads, flipping up into the air and over the goalie's shoulder to go into the net). Also found Doc to be a bit robotic (though I laughed when I heard him say waffleboarded), which was a bummer. I'll eventually pick this up when I can get it for around $30. Too many modes removed, not enough freshness to warrant full price IMO.

I still can't understand the color scheme on the menus. During the team selection screen, I have white lettering on a teal glowing background. You can't read the text. Same when you want to select position lock...it appears to be maybe black on a glowing red. Something so simple as the color scheme in the menus was overlooked. Makes me worry about the full version of the game. Can't wait for the , "3 year developmeent plan for the new consoles" excuse again.

People are right to be wary. Sliders for the past few released have had minimal effect, and the demo has played pretty much exactly like the final product, which is regardless of skater fatigue or period length, there have been little to no penalties. I've gone 3 straight games before in NHL14 without the AI committing a penalty. That shouldn't happen at default settings, but it sure as hell shouldn't happen with sliders maxed out either.
People are frustrated with EA. The "Why even play" is completely missing the point. People want to play the game. I want to get NHL15, but i'm not in the habit of just throwing my money away on something i won't enjoy.
People aren't mad that they won't get to spend the money, they're mad they aren't seeing anything worth buying. People shouldn't have to compromise on something they see as buggy and broken, or "Deal with it" as some would tell you to do. They should be able to expect that after a certain number of releases, some things will be fixed and improved.

Yes sliders are great IF ITS WORKING AS DESIGNED, BUT NOT EA's NHL

The reason why I play this game, perhaps just like you, I'm a die-hard hockey fan, not just for Vancouver Canucks but the game in general. If you put the name "NHL" in your game of hockey, I EXPECT that it should reflect, or at least close to the real thing, the way NHL play their game. I dont know how long you played this series, or play video hockey, but this EA's effort in improving the gameplay and mechanics is atrocious to say the least.

This game, if you are a casual gamer or just like to play games vs CPU/AI, sure this is cool, even above average game. But if you play like that of CAP or BaGM (multiple season) or Season mode, this game will easily get to you nerves. Same team plays the same as well as players. There are so many flaws in this game and EA continue to ignore them.

SO if you want to purchase this game...good for you. If this game tickles your hockey fancies...good for you. But for me, and I think some here as well, are just sick and tired of the efforts EA is giving for this game.
