DAMIAN LILLARD TO GRACE COVER OF NBA LIVE 15

Portland Trailblazers All-Star Earns Cover Honors

August 25, 2014 – Today EA SPORTS announced that Damian Lillard will be featured as the cover athlete for NBA LIVE 15. Lillard shared the news with his fans via social media, and EA also released a special video celebrating Lillard’s appearance on the cover.

Lillard’s involvement in the franchise goes beyond a simple cover appearance, as he has been working with the NBA LIVE team for the past two years. Lillard participated in motion capture and voice over sessions in both Orlando and Vancouver, Canada where the team was able to capture his signature movement including dribbling and shooting. The team also scanned his head for likeness and recorded facial performance as well as had design sessions about the creative direction of the game. Damian is also the star and storyteller of the new Learn LIVE onboarding mode, where he teaches players the basics of NBA LIVE 15 and recounts his own life journey in basketball. Lillard is already making his presence known in the EA SPORTS family, appearing alongside Kevin Hart and Dave Franco in the recent Madden Season video.

Damian Lillard was selected in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, and went on to earn Rookie of the Year honors in 2013. Lillard’s impressive young career has continued to flourish, as he was named to the NBA West All-Star Team in 2014. He is also a two-time NBA Skills Challenge champion.

NBA LIVE 15 arrives with the most photo-realistic visuals in franchise history and 500+ core gameplay improvements delivering a truly fluid, fun and authentic basketball gaming experience. Reimagined visuals drop you courtside alongside the game’s biggest stars. See the intensity on a player’s face as he nails a game-winner, or the frustration of a heart-wrenching loss. All-new real-time physics on dunks and layups replicate some of the NBA’s most amazing physical plays, letting you posterize your opponent or deny his attempt at the rim. Add into the mix always-connected online game modes and LIVE’s Synergy Sports partnership and you’ll never miss a beat during the NBA season with new content updated daily, all season long.

NBA LIVE 15 is developed in Orlando, Florida by EA Tiburon and will be available on October 7 for Xbox One, the all-in-one entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system. To learn more about NBA LIVE 15, visit http://www.easports.com/nba-live.

That will give people 2 weeks with the game to see if they like it. O'Brien said they are spending this time making sure all the bugs are removed.

I said this in another thread. I'd much rather have them polishing the game than making developer pieces explaining what they have done. I don't need info 3 months before release. I just need a demo before I buy the game.

I'm not a developer, but I think most teams are ironing things out these last few months of release....and I would be shocked if doing a minute video here or there set them back on that process....

I'm good waiting on a demo too though, as far as this game goes...

I think the process of releasing info is more complex than you are giving credit to. They have to decide what they want to show. I'm sure that is a process and I'm sure requires approval from the suits. Then there's actually deciding whether or not to do a video. If you do a video than you have to find just the right video that shows off what you want people to see without showing what you don't. And again I'm sure they have to edit and re-edit those vids.

The team doing the bug testing are probably involved in under 10% of that process...if that...

I could be just over thinking things. It's a good question to ask one of the developers as it is a complete educated guess on my part.

Well we do have a pic of other body types, skin tone, and jerseys. What you do think of Draymond Green. Iggy is a little hard to see, but you can kind of make it out..

Hopefully it's just that pic and not every player running like the players on madden still. Looking like hunchbacks on a skating rink.

On my phone, but I'm less impressed with that pic than any of the Lillard ones. Colors look weird

His skin looks like the 2K player models. It looks like its plastic or clay.

You can also see Damien Lillard in that video who's player model looks a little different now ...

Yeah that's an older build, I wouldn't really judge it much.

Been wondering what the preview guy meant by "graphics are better, but not quite there yet" as well...makes me wonder about how the game animates...

We shall see when/if gameplay drops...more than happy to be worried about nothing
As a huge critic of Live's marketing, presentation, and gameplay last year, I actually think that he quick clip of Dame is representative of what you'll actually see. For once EA is not doing fake pregenerated renders and it looks like realtime footage.

Lighting looks solid, details are good, but there's something off about the rigging and animations. No idea if the game will animate poorly, but at least from a rendering perspective, it should be good to passable, with a few very good areas.

I just went back and re-read the hands on preview. A lot of things we are worried about the guy already puts it to rest and says that it's in the game. I recommend going back and re-reading it. When EA does drop the first trailer, I think our jaws will hit the floor..The topics he speaks on gives me hope this might be the year.

EASPORTSNBA favorited a question asking if there would be a trailer early next week.

I'd say we'll see the trailer next week.
