Madden NFL 15 News Post

EA released a pretty hilarious video declaring the start of Madden season. The video features Kevin Hart and Dave Franco and has some rather funny moments. Check out the official PR below and watch the video above:

"Today EA SPORTS officially kicked off Madden Season with a humorous ad campaign video featuring Kevin Hart and Dave Franco. The video demonstrates how friends become frenemies during Madden Season, when rivalries heat up and you’ll stop at nothing to get the win. The full video is available here.

In addition to Hart and Franco, the spot also features cameos from other up-and-coming celebrities and young athletes including Colin Kaepernick, LeSean McCoy, Dez Bryant, Von Miller and Damian Lillard. Even the guys from the popular YouTube show, Epic Meal Time, join in on the fun. In a first for the Madden NFL franchise, the spot makes its debut online several days before it will hit broadcast television."

I never found Kevin Hart funny. He's just loud. That's it. The louder he is, the funnier people think he is. I don't get it.

Kevin Hart is Chris Tucker for a new generation. That could certainly mean a fast fade out of the spotlight too.

Seems kinda juvenile (then again most of Harts stuff is). Maybe I'm just old but i stopped watching before the 1:00 mark. Hopefully the actual game will hold my attention for longer lol.

The production cost of that alone could've probably gone a long way with making the gameplay better had they invested it into the game IMO.

Pretty dang funny though.

Why? I never understand comments like these. For a company like EA - I imagine there is enough money for marketing and for game production. Why assume one takes from the other? If the game sucks - it will be on it's own merit - not because the $1M they spent on this commercial meant they couldn't spend on staffing to make a better game.

I am not trying to pick a fight or be mean spirited - but I truly don't understand how advertising relates to a good product. I have seen plenty of great games with great advertising. And we don't even know if the gameplay is lacking. Heck - early reports all indicate a MUCH improved experience. And even if the gameplay sucks - who's to say throwing more money at the game would fix the problem. If the developers suck or the company has the wrong vision, an addition load of cash only gets them going in the wrong direction much faster.

Lets just enjoy the commercial [or not if you hate Kevin Hart]. It's Madden time either way!

Are those people I should know? I guess I am too old for the Madden target audience.

That was pretty awesome. Well done EA Marketing.

Now we know where the game's budget went.

EA Ultimate Teams revenue alone generated $380M last year. I think it's safe to say that had enough money to create a big budget commercial and build the game.

Just sayin...

funny and weird as hell..it will definitely create hype

wish they put the money they spent on that add into the game. Had to cost some dough.

I seen the teaser commercial this morn where Kev rings bell then smacks dude then it cuts to the Madden 15 title screen and the unseen voice comes in or whatever then goes off. Thought it was funny but weird then I see the full commercial and it's kinda funny and weird and wtf just kept poppin in my head repeatedly yet I was laughing at some of this. Creative....weird and kinda funny all in one.

Lol I'm assuming every OS'er has a cynical side and I guarantee that side was shaking its head thinking. "They could have spent this money on the game!". Lmao mine was.

I liked it. It was just weird enough to be funny. Good choice using the lesser Franco too.

Honestly, this didn't even cross my mind until I read your post. I'm not cynical enough.

Huh. So Dave Franco can't even get the lead in a commercial.
