NBA Live 15 News Post

The @NBA Twitter handle will be added to the official Spalding game ball for the 2014-15 NBA season, becoming the first professional sports league to include its social media handle on its official game ball.

EA Sports took this moment to show off the new game ball in NBA Live 15. A close up can be seen here.

We need gameplay footage, graphics aren't what create good games

And what's wrong with that?

Until they ditch all of those awful NBA live animations and start from scratch, it's going to look like an out of date inferior game. Sad thing too, i was hoping EA would save us from VC points. No basketball for me this year.

What's wrong with that is that it's not even a reasonable to request footage before screenshots... It's been done like this for years for both companies. SCREENSHOTS, then footage, then game modes... It's always been like that, so obviously they are gonna get to the footage eventually why rush it?

That screenshot look really nice. The detail of the ball, shorts, tattoo and variety in crowd models is very good, even I can see a couple who are wearing an opponent jersey (Sixers right?); I can see that there are too many grey shirts on the crowd but that's a very very very minor detail.

Start from scratch?! I refuse to give them another excuse to delay their game. They need more animations, but they all need to be refined and tightened to a high degree. Plus, I want to see EA finish a 3 year plan for once. lol

Ball looks good. Material on the shorts looks really nice as well. Still not getting my hopes up. Game may look nice from the little we have seen. We need to see gameplay.

Can't wait to see more. Hope it is a good game. I have no problem buying both Live and 2k.

Man, you can tell that they have those awful NBA LIVE animations just by looking at that picture? Amazing.

And all of this time, all I could see was an extremely detailed screenshot, I didn't even notice the horrible animations in the background. Saved me $60.

the crowd seems nice with not many duplicated characters.... hopefully some solid news will be revealed at gamescom come August
Regarding the ball details (and jersey) etc ... I would sure hope so (and I am glad) considering EA is looking to scan in as much as they can for NBA live. Hopefully EA does the same for their other sport titles. I'm all for visuals being more authentic regardless of the approach. The ball and jerseys were all scanned in. This is working smarter.

Mars....did you make that comparison ?

If so, you did a great job. the graphics have really been stepped up for 15. Hopefully the animations have been greatly improved to go along with it.

Everything looks great except the melted finger nails

It seems like Live and NHL are sharing assets quite a bit. The texture and detail of the shorts looks very similar to NHL's jerseys.

He's not saying that really. If Live 15 animates like last year, it's pointless for better textured models to move as spastic as last year. Live & Madden are EA's most poorly animating games and it's been that way for years.

# 40 WTF @ 08/01/14 11:19 AM
But this is a screenshot detailing one of the biggest complaints about last year out of the gate. Once animation videos release, if they don't look good, fine. But saying that this saved him $60 when you have no clue about the animations is what I was referring to.
