NBA Live 15 News Post

FanSided has posted an interview with NBA Live 15 Executive Producer, Sean O’Brien where he hints that a demo could come sooner than expected. How much sooner? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Quote:
Without officially confirming it, O’Brien did hint that a demo for the game will be coming sooner than average demos are released. In most cases, a demo for a game is released two weeks prior to a game’s official launch. With NBA Live 15, it appears as if the company is pushing to get a demo out a bit sooner than that.

Has EA ever actually finished one of their infamous 3 year plans?

No sir. Which is why I've been saying this year will be very telling because we've made it to year 2 of a 3 year plan yet again. Unfortunately that's as far as these ever get with them. A few have ended after a year, but typically it's two years, then scrap everything and a start a new one.

If they do drop news tomorrow, it would be exactly a year from the day they dropped the cover reveal for Live 14. So maybe they are going to stick close to their release dates from last year for info.

They have separate teams working on different aspects, so they have a dedicated gameplay team and a graphics team. That said, my expectations on gameplay are still pretty low this year.

Well the nhl series had a 3 year plan from 07 to 10. That seemed to go well.

I don't think anyone is trying to bash live. I could be wrong but I know I am not. I really really want a good product this year from EA. If the demo is promising I WILL buy the game no doubt. I think the problem is that people want a good game so bad from them that its getting old year after year with the same old stuff.

You mentioned the last game was 10 but you fail to mention the games games they scrapped and the years they took off. Which is why people feel by now a decent 80-85 rated game should be possible.

Also, whether EA specifically mentioned a 3 year plan or not doesn't matter because its implied when they say "they're taking steps in the right direction" or "its not where we want to be yet" etc... I sure as heck hope they don't expect us to take from those statements that they mean 5-10 years cause that would be ridiculous.

To refresh your memory this was after 10

They did mention a 3 year process last year. I don't have the quote in front of me right now, but I remember that being a topic last year

I think most sports games are based on 3 year plans to implement and perfect a feature....they just don't use it as an excuse for a poor product like EA has done

Spoiler

Anyway, I wish I'll have a next-gen console by the time the new NBA games are released. We'll see... But an early demo is nice. It's just when I read the "gamers need to try it to decide" remarks, it immediately makes me think NBA Elite. What bothered me back then (and with 13) not that they put a sub-par product, but that they had to have people telling them that it wasn't good to understand it. If they couldn't see it, then what was the point?

Hopefully, this is not the case here.

Hope they do get the demo out pretty soon. Would like to see for myself.

And btw NBA Live 10 is the best hoops game ever.

This is most likely EAaccess, since Live 15 will be playable 5 days before release for X1 users who subscribe.

I hope not but that seems what he was referring to although if the idea is to release the trial sooner than a normal demo then it doesn't make much sense.

Nottrying to get anyone's hopes up here, but what if the demo is the full game with early access and limited playing time?

# 34 Rockie_Fresh88 @ 07/30/14 03:05 PM
Even if he was referring to early access , I'm 99% sure EA will drop a demo for both consoles at some point .

Live 10 was tight, especially the crowd emerson, but for me 2k11 pc albys roster, mods, etc... Best BB game ever created! gameplay is still unmatched to date.

2k11 still my favorite 2k game! That game was real authentic basketball!

I would like 2k11 with 2k13's control scheme. I like having the dribble moves separate from player movement.

It could be said that both games are on "the plan" since this is a next gen battle for our bucks, and neither did great job with their initial next gen NBA game releases.
