Madden NFL 15 News Post

Shortly after Richard Sherman won the Madden NFL 15 cover vote, he stated that he had been trying to get the Legion of Boom on the cover.

Quote:
"I’ve been trying to get the Legion of Boom on the cover, and EA has been fighting me,” Sherman said. “So if everybody wants to start a petition to get the Legion of Boom on the cover, here it is, here’s an open invitation."

A couple of online petitions were created, netting over 20,000 signatures.

Today, EA Sports has announced the Legion of Boom will make it's way to the start/welcome screen in Madden NFL 15. You can read all the details on how they made it happen here.

I like this article. It addressed a problem In a transparent way and they came up with a solution. It seems they're learning how to be a successful business in this day and age. And I give them props for all the stuff they've done so far this development cycle with concerns and feedback.

Doubt it. You'll have to get used to the LOB in madden.

I remember when favorite team meant more than just the team play now always defaulted too. First we had actual moving players on the menu screen. Then we had just static images. Still our favorite team. Now we have a Windows 8 interface with a bunch of random NFL player players. Also our menus were no longer our favorite team color scheme.

It's actually pretty cool to me. But it's only something you're gonna see for a second. Press start and its gone. I've played Madden 25 tons and I can't remember what the splash screen looks like from memory.

They should definitely go back to that for the menus. I loved it. I always preferred the super simple menus with the images and video. I'd leave the start screen to just the cover photo or, in this case since the cover looks so awkward, just a picture of the cover athlete. Then with the menus just have the background be a bunch of photos relevant to your favorite team.

Lol! As a lifetime (39 years) Seahawks fan I'm loving it! But I hear everyone and you should pick your favorite team and have their pics displayed on your home screen. I know I wouldn't care for Colin peckerdick on my main page EVERYTIME I turned the game on! But I love that the LOB is getting some love as a unit and not just Sherman. I'd actually have preferred this on the cover over just Sherman.

As a fan since day one (August 1st, 1976, still have my ticket stub) I love this also. Nice to have another team besides the normal Pats, Broncos, Cowboys, Packers emblems all over. Hawks won the championship. They should get some splash. #LOB #12s

Umm let's see. Last year was the Vikings on the cover. Then 13 had the lions, 12 had the browns,11 the saints, 10 had both steelers and cardinals. There has only been one team that your complaining about that has been on a madden cover, and that was Brett favre and even then later on in the season they changed the cover to show him in a jets jersey. Some people.

it would be dope if you could pick your favorite team. But oh well I'm sure it will be a selling point for madden 16 lol.

Pff.... If they're so bent on putting a secondary on the start screen it should be the No Fly Zone, the new Patriots secondary.

It would be far better to have rotating splash screens with all-time great players and squads...

Steel Curtain
Doomsday D
Purple People Eaters
Fearsome Foursome
Packers Sweep
Monsters of the Midway
'01 Ravens
GSOT
Funbunch
The Hogs
1988 Eagles D
1985 Bears D
The Marks Brothers (Marino and co.)
The Killer B's (Dolphins '84 D)
West Coast Offense (Montana / Clark / Co.)
The New York Sack Exchange

Seriously, with an exclusive NFL license and access to the history of the league how freaking hard would it be to code in a rotating background on the splash screen? For christ's sake my desktop PC can do this with the wallpaper, why on earth can't a multi-million selling game like Madden????

Who cares, it's the start screen. You'll see it for about one and a half second.

Oh come on... You cannot be serious.

Do you remember Madden 11? When we had to put up with the most annoying team being celebrated?

Richard Sherman is a marketing mastermind. People think he is just obnoxious and ignorant but really, he's smarter than people think.
