NCAA Football 14 News Post

Today should be d-day minus two towards NCAA/College Football 15’s launch.

We should be celebrating the first new-generation effort of collegiate football, with the expected beautiful graphics and enhancements we were expecting all along.

This week should be the kickoff to our sports gaming season, where nearly every AAA game is released over a four month period.

Silence.

14 is gonna feel so obsolete once January rolls in. The playoff system is going to make this game unplayable for me

Viva la NCAA Football!

NCAA Football 14 is my favorite football game ever. The ability to realign the conferences and the in-game score updates provide an extra layer of immersion, beyond the solid gameplay. I wish games like Madden would provide score updates from around the league in-game, the studio updates provide extra context to the game I'm playing.

This is a very sad year for football gaming........I could only imagine how beautiful and great ncaa would have been on next gen....I always had faith in that development team and you could tell they loved college football....and madden doesnt look that innovative or next gen so Im depressed!!

Seems to be a blessing in disguise to me. We've worked so hard in the slider section to get NCAA 14 playing right, that I'd feel like all that work would've been stopped 3 months ago if we knew NCAA 15 was coming out. Getting a new game this year would've been nice, yeah - but modifying one of the best ever is a real challenge - and one I welcome.

good quick write up.

14 is good enough for the next couple of years. but like someone else said,, maybe that will change once January roils around. The new playoff system will probably ruin this game for me.

These are my feelings as well. I will enjoy it this season but I have a feeling that it will be over when the playoff starts. It will not be the same trying to pick it up a year from now.

For me it still hasn't hit. I don't know that it will truly hit me until college football actually kicks off.

Saddest summer of my life

I can't say I'm that depressed. NCAA never rebounded after coming off PS2 even though there were strides taken in 14 but never to the potential I was hoping for. I fell if 15 were to be released it would be a let down especially the first year on a new system.

I'm really angry about not having a new NCAA Football game this year. The petty lawsuits needs to stop, now. The world is falling apart because of them.

This doesn't bother me that much since I still get plenty of fun from NCAA 06. After nine years of playing this wonderful game I still find plays that work well, both offensively and defensively. Dynasty is still an absolute blast to play. Recruiting is simple but rewarding. Still the best NCAA game for me. Nine consistent years of playing it proves it.

I hooked up my OG xbox to play NCAA 06 and 07 for this reason specifically. The games play amazingly and look pretty good on my 60 in TV with component cables.

I have settled on 06 as my preferred NCAA game moving forward.

The series never reached its "potential" after 7-8 years on Gen 3 hardware so I won't miss it. Just one less frustrating "2 steps forward 3 steps back" series to deal with. Marketing and business tactics are the only reason we got a football game in July anyway.

Too bad sports gaming has fallen so far that the NCAA series is being lamented. Maybe if it never made it to to Gen 3 I could understand the remorse bc the Gen 2 era was amazing for its time.

I remember last year when the game came out I was away for work. On my way home I stopped by Game Stop and picked up my pre ordered copy. I was riding with a co worker (who I asked to go out of the way and to the strip mall were GS is located.) and he got a kick out of the fact that I opened it in the car. Just to see the disc. I started a dynasty that night, before my bags we unpacked.

This really blows. I remember watching a YouTube video afrew weeks before the game was released. It was a video of every single uniform for every team in the game. I watched the whole thing, as I'm sure most of you have also.

At first, I was against college football players getting paid. That was when I had a new NCAA game to play. Now that there is nothing, I don't care what they get I just want new NCAA football game. Maybe that's selfish of me. Maybe this whole thing just makes me understand that players do deserve something for use of their image.

As for this game being too old for me to play after this season only time will tell. It will seem extremely out dated after this year though.

Went out and re-bought NCAA 14 yesterday. I was going through college football withdrawals.

This has been tough not having a NCAA game out this year. It would've been nice to see what it would've been like on Next-gen. Hopefully there'll be another NCAA game in the future.

It sucks not being able to pick up NCAA as that kind of kicked off the start to football season for me. But I think this is a blessing in disguise. I know there are some on here that enjoyed the game the last couple of years, and if you did more power to you, but let's be honest, the games have been pure garbage on gen 3. It started with the foundation and they played catch-up the entire generation.

If and when the game comes back, there will be new perspective leading the ship. No disrespect to the last dev team, but it didn't seem like they were college football fanatics (as a whole). The work reflected it. They needed some fresh blood anyway. Hopefully they will have authentic rosters and ratings by the time of the next release. One thing I thought hurt the series is how they randomized ratings (I think they had too many ratings) as a way to try and cover up the layer likeness issue. One thing that made the Gen 2 games so great is the ratings were pretty damn good considering the amount of teams and lack of resources back then- they even included transfers and the equipment was almost spot on for the top guys. Ratings make the game go and as someone who is almost exclusively an online player, having to play with default rosters the last few years (and who could forget the 09 fiasco when they "forgot" to put the right rosters on the disc) killed my experience. Can you imagine 128 teams, full of real players, updated throughout the season to reflect what is going on during the season? If they can make that happen, it would be worth the wait.

I might end up doing that today. Rosters don't really matter for me because I'll just start as an OC at some small school anyway.

NCAA Football release kicked off the football season for me every year. This really blows. Hopefully one day we get another game in the series.
