FIFA 15 News Post

Today EA SPORTS released a new video that highlights how incredible visuals in FIFA 15 help deliver authentic player visuals and fully realized stadiums with living pitches. Watch the video now: http://youtu.be/tfjML2B2aVo. All footage captured from FIFA 15 gameplay.
  • Authentic Player Visuals — The FIFA 15 development team created the Next Generation football player – ensuring players appear true to their physical form. An all-new physically-based rendering lighting system changes the way players look, ensuring users are able to see a level of detail in players’ faces which hasn’t been possible before. New body rigging and character models make players feel powerful and athletic, while kits move realistically and react with the environment becoming dirty with mud and grass as the match unfolds.
  • Living Pitch — Pitches will never be the same. Slide tackles and boot marks are now visible on the pitch, and as the match progresses, the playing surface becomes increasingly weathered just as it would in a real football match. Fans playing in rain or wet weather will notice mud and debris on the pitch. Corner flag physics, goal frames that shake, and animated LED ad boards are just some of the new details that bring FIFA 15 to life.
FIFA 15 hits stores September 23 in North America on Xbox One, PS4 and PC and is powered by the EA SPORTS IGNITE Engine. The game is also available on Xbox 360, PS3 and other platforms.

Looks amazing. Tough situation because the gameplay isn't like PES, and PES won't be at this point until next year since the first year a title is on new hardware is usually a port/product that does not actually take advantage of the new hardware. PES 2016 is what to judge imo, if it makes it that far.......

Let's see how FIFA 15's animations and gameplay are. Great start!

Thats dandy and all, but how about we get some actual game play enchantment. And some changes/upgrades to career modes. I get tired of the big pitch always being, look how we improved the visuals. I don't give a crap. Make the game better to play.

Sure, highlights and cinematic scenes look great, they always do.

VISIBLE BREATHING lol I really don't care about that.

If they make FUT play like the offline game (realistic, not a glitchy arcade), that will make me happy.

Isn't that down to the people playing the game though???

By the way I used to love PES until this year, but this year I got PES 2014 for FREE from PSN, and it's a mess.

Awful frame rate on cut scenes and replays, ps2-level low-res textures, and to top all that off, you tap the shoot button and the ball goes over the bar every time.

Sorry but the argument that PES is better has been obliterated.

The graphics here look excellent, although it still bothers me a bit that they can't (like in PES) use the proper lettering for shirt names. It just takes away from the realism a bit. Stretching the names to fit when the devs know full well that no team does that in real life is still baffling.

Looks good. I think all of that will help bring the game to life.

But yeah, let's see some gameplay.

Can't wait to see beautiful lightning illuminating generic faces. I really wish they would have said something about how many faces they were scanning this year.

One thing I'll credit Fifa for is constantly improving the game. I've stopped playing the Show pending a patch because gameplay took a step backward.

FIFA 14 is the only game that's really lived up to a fun experience on the PS4 imo, mainly because the online aspect is silky smooth 99% of the time. That being said, I can't help but call EA out on marketing its "incredible visuals" and "stadium atmosphere" every single year. Sure, the game looks pretty on 1080p (especially on replays), but I really think that more can be done NOW in terms of stadium remodeling, lighting, player models, etc. No more 'improving' please; instead, I wish they would rebuild every stadium and player model for next gen to match the new consoles' capacity. The stadiums & player models (not faces) look identical to how they looked on ps3/360, and there's no denying that.

Also, on a side note, EA market every year how they've upgraded stadium specific atmosphere for every team, yet if you play a home match with AC Milan at San Siro, you'll hear the crowd chant for Ronaldinho (who hasn't donned a Milan shirt since 2010) and Gattuso (who left Milan in 2012).

If EA would pay any attention to detail, the FIFA series could be that much better, and that's saying a lot because to me it's still so enjoyable.

I love FIFA, but let me just bring up the fact thst dirty kits were in two gens ago, and never made the leap to the 360/PS3 era. So boo to it being pimped like a revolution in the series' visuals.

C'mon, guys. We don't want a bunch of PES talk in this forum, good or bad.

Same goes for The Show. Let's keep it on topic, please.

Maybe it's just me but I'm not a fan of the fifa gameplay. I purchased fifa 14 on PS4 and i ended up breaking the disc in anger. I was shocked that I did that because it's the first time I've ever done that. The word that describes fifa is generic. Everybody using the same animation sets, all teams play the same, the ai behaves the same way all the time, scripting on legendary, etc. The list goes on and on. The visuals in this trailer looks good but unfortunately I don't play visuals and i doubt that the gameplay has been radically overhauled. Honestly, I don't think I will be buying fifa for a long long time. There seems to be a common theme in all ea sports games when reading through the OS forums. They tend to have poor gameplay. I mean, no game is perfect but when it comes to the gameplay, EA sports games seem to be lagging behind.

The major complaints seem to revolve around the poor ai, lack of player individuality, lack of team styles and a lack of attention to detail. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but it's been almost 10 years and we are still hearing the same complaints.

Are goal-posts and sideline flags moving really worth adding though? Some of that stuff you don't even notice during live games. Sounds like a whole gimmick to me. I really wish they improved the engine to me the whole franchise has been pretty stale these last couple years since the last engine update. IDK about you guys but I hope PES can be somewhat competitive because that's the type of football I prefer. A much slower build-up and stringing passes together rather than just booting it off half way across the field hoping to score a goal.
