R.B.I. Baseball 14 News Post

Previously released on Xbox 360, PS3, iOS and Android devices, R.B.I. Baseball 14 is available now for $19.99 on Xbox One and later this afternoon for PS4.

UPDATE: It is now available for PS4.

Based off of a few innings it appears as though the gameplay is exactly the same as the previously released versions. The graphics and rosters have been updated slightly, but that's about it.

Before purchasing the game, you might want to read our review of the 360 version, since it's essentially the same game.

For those of you that do try it out, let us know what you think.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was wondering when we might see a baseball game for the One and I initially got excited, although I'd say that said excitement has now been properly drowned.

I've been playing the game for PS4 for an hour or so now. It's great! All of the people complaining about it are taking it way too seriously. I held off on the PS3 version, waiting instead for today's release, so I can't compare the two. I did download the mobile version awhile ago, and I must say that it's much more enjoyable on the console. The gameplay is the same, but it's much easier to make your players do what you want them to do on the console. Of course it's not The Show. If you expect a similar sim game, obviously you're going to be disappointed. If you wanted a baseball sim on the Xbox One, why didn't you just buy a PS4 and get The Show? As a hardcore baseball fan, who has been playing baseball games since the Nintendo days, RBI 14 is an awesome throwback game. I own The Show and love it. But, this is a great change of pace from that. Of course it'd be nice to have stat tracking, and like everyone else, I'm puzzled as to why I have to keep my own stats to track my progress toward unlocking uniforms. But, this is a great start for the resurrected franchise. I really hope they keep it coming for years to come. And I can't wait until the alumni pack is out for PS4!

Still waiting on a price drop for PS3 version in the PSN store. Will take a flyer on it for 5 bucks. 20? Forget it.

From the moment the first screenshots were revealed, I don't believe anyone was expecting R.B.I. Baseball 14 to be a simulation game on-par with MLB The Show.

People were merely expecting that the game would offer an overall package that was more befitting of its $20 price tag and its 2014 release date.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't even see a demo version on the PlayStation 4 marketplace?

I really wanted to get this as I have no Baseball but after watching gameplay videos on you tube I just cant waste $20 because I visually couldnt even play it being that its 2014 and graphics shouldnt even be a issue anymore so I got Madden 25 ps4 instead and its pretty good even stripped down .

Now when I played Wofenstein the ps4 version it had a short 8 bit version to play and it was nostalgic and fun but why the would bring RBI back visually and gameplay wise like this with no stats or full roster was a very poor decision IMO but hopefully they can bring it up to date for 2015 .

Exactly. I've never even played the game and my notes off a single game that I saw on YouTube reveal that the game should just be more than it is. It doesn't have to be more of a simulation at all, and they can totally embrace the old school route (or a little closer to SNES). But there are small things that can go a long way if they keep making future versions. I mentioned what some of those things are, and I think most would agree.

i picked this up with a gift card i had for the xbox one.

not bad at all, a fun fast paced game.

what i would like to see and would add a great deal of replay value for me..

season mode stats.
multi year season, say 5 years max.
5 pitchers per team.

hopefully a few of those will be added if they do future versions of the game.
