FIFA Soccer 14: World Cup Kick-Off and Ultimate Team Modes Live

The much anticipated update to FIFA Soccer 14, bringing World Cup Kick-Off Mode to the game, has gone live as of this morning.

As posted on the EA Forums:

	"UPDATE � Friday 30 May, noon UK. All FIFA 14 players on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC are currently being prompted to download an update. This is in preparation for FUT World Cup, which we are aiming to launch later today, UK time. World Cup Kick Off mode is now live and available to download for Xbox One and PS4. Please follow @EASPORTSFIFA and we�ll provide another status update on FUT World Cup today by 7pm UK time."

Yep so you may be named whatever fut name you choose and you might have Messi on your team wearing a Germany kit. messi, pirlo, Dempsey, ozil, Ramos, etc. whoever you unlock and whatever kit ea gives you.

With work you can buy and sell your way to having a proper WC squad with all the same nationality.

Realize if you play online against humans they are all going to pick Brazilian players and be wearing different kits.

So yeah, dumb as hell.

Throw out the national spirit behind a WC club and just mishmash everything together. Ea just wants you to buy fifa cash to spend on packs to assemble the proper team you want.

yep, all boots that have been added to the FCC catalog over the last 6 months are gone from your boot selection screen. boots that were originally in the catalog are still there but thats it...

not pleased.

my buddies and I only play Pro Clubs, this forced DLC just affects us negatively while adding absolutely 0...

Actually you can't sine none of the players are tradeaable. The only way to get them is in packs or in the card they give you after each match.

Also noticed that you can only play as the 32 teams that have already qualified... meaning if you want to play India (which is in the 'Kick Off' mode but not the 'World Cup' mode) Vs Bosnia (which is in the World Cup DLC but not in 'Kick Off' mode) you can't

I am old and out of touch. But I just don't understand the mass appeal of UT which seems to be taking over sports gaming.

I get the appeal, it's the old card collecting made new but that being said... I have 0 interest in it.

But then I have 0 interest in any mode that isn't virtual pro. I only play virtual pro offline and pro clubs online.

This is so stupid. I dusted this off after not playing FIFA 14 for like 2 months. Excited because someone told they added the WC tourney to the game. Then its UT garbage. **** you EA. You put out a ****ty WC game on last gen in that terrible engine, which I bought. And I returned the following day. That thing was pure trash. It wasn't even as good as 14 on PS3. Then you stiff PS4/X1 users with this garbage. If I wanted to play fake WC I would play PES 14. Again **** you EA.

Just downloaded the update and I'm getting a game freeze when I try to play a WC match. Anyone else experiencing this, and if so is there anything to be done about it?

Update? Are you talking about you just downloaded the WC feature, or there is an update for it?
