EA Sports has just released the official teaser trailer for NHL 15, as well as a features list.

NHL 15 will hit stores worldwide this fall for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, and the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.

NHL 15 Features for Xbox One and PlayStation 4

True Hockey Physics
  • 12 Player NHL Collision Physics - For the first time, real-world physics affect every player through every on-ice collision with the new 12 Player NHL® Collision Physics. Utilizing the power of the new consoles, and building off the critically-acclaimed NHL Collision Physics system, every player on the ice is governed by physics at all times. Feel the hard-hitting chaos of NHL hockey through true-to-life secondary collisions, net scrambles and player pileups, capturing the desperation of every shift.
  • Real Puck Physics - The puck is one of the most complex items in the game to authentically replicate and it finally gets its due in NHL 15. Completely rebuilt puck physics result in a more realistic feel to every puck interaction. Everything on the ice, including the ice surface itself, is live which leads to the unpredictable and authentic puck spins, rolls and bounces seen in a real NHL game.
The Next-Generation Hockey Player
  • Authentic Player & Equipment Models - The Next Generation Hockey Player has been rebuilt from the ice up. Now player models have three distinct layers - the body, equipment, and jersey. Each layer interacts independently, making every contact with the puck or other players even more realistic. Dynamic Cloth technology adds an extra layer of realism as it reacts to the player's movement as they explode up the ice, helping bring the speed of the game to life.
  • Unprecedented Player Likeness - Powered by the same technology that brought the most realistic representation of the athlete to EA SPORTS UFC, NHL 15 delivers groundbreaking player likeness, emotion and animation. From the strides a player takes to get across the ice to the emotion on their face after scoring a game-winning goal, the players are as real as they've ever been.
  • Superstar Skill Stick - Now all the tools of an NHL superstar are in your hands. The revolutionary Skill Stick has evolved to give even more control to the player. Protect the puck, receive passes without breaking stride, and discover an arsenal of new dekes, all with an intuitive right stick control scheme that is easy to use but packed with depth.
  • Vision AI - An elevated level of player intelligence, Vision AI features evolved awareness with players reading and reacting to potential plays. Scoring area recognition, pass anticipation, and enhanced team breakouts all improve the flow of the game.
NBC Sports Broadcast Package
  • A New Commentary Team - New voices for a new generation. NHL 15 welcomes the NBC Sports commentary team of Mike ‘Doc' Emrick and Eddie Olczyk to the broadcast booth. TSN analyst Ray Ferraro will provide game insights at ice level. Leveraging the same Vision AI foundation that the players have, and just like a live broadcast, Doc, Eddie and Ray will anticipate plays and ramp up their intensity to match the action on the ice with more than 35,000 lines of brand-new commentary.
  • NBC Sports Game Day Presentation - The most realistic broadcast package in a video game to-date is possible because of a new partnership with NBC Sports. Set the scene with the NHL on NBC crew welcoming you to the city during the game intros and immerse yourself in an experience that matches what you see on television with NHL on NBC graphics and branding.
  • Real Life Broadcast Integration - When we say Doc and Eddie are in the game, we mean really in the game. Taking commentary integration to the next level, NHL 15 will feature real world pre-game video commentary with Doc and Eddie. Set against NHL 15 in-game visuals, the result is a revolutionary step forward in sports videogames, where the lines between the real world of sport broadcast and the game are blurred.
Unrivalled In-Arena Experience
  • Over 9,000 Crowd Models - NHL 15 sets a new standard in videogames with more than 9,000 individual crowd models with 4x the animations of previous generations. Take a look through the glass and you'll see fans hold up signs with your name on them, costume wearing superfans, or even sections full of team rivals rooting against you.
  • Living Crowds - The crowd is alive. Feel the crowd behavior change after dropping the gloves, landing a big hit, or scoring a clutch goal. Individual behaviors are mapped to each person in the crowd, as they anticipate the play, taunt players, clap to music from the dynamic Jumbotron or even take a quick break from the action to snap a selfie and immortalize their experience.
  • Authentic Arenas - There is no feeling like being there, and we are giving you the best seats in the house. The power of the next-gen consoles finally allows the NHL franchise to capture every detail of an NHL arena. Unique arena elements from more than 19,000 seat capacities to lighting and player entrance tunnels are captured with a level of detail not possible on the previous generation. Now those home games will truly feel like home.

That feature list.... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing that is most exciting to me is "Player Likeness" because in the description it sounds like players will move/skate differently (Animation wise). This is the kind of thing EA need to add to all of its games to bring them to life. (NBA 2K and MLB The Show are amazing at this)

No news on a re-vamped goalie system though

Probably the best lines of text ever written for an NHL series fan:

EA Sports released the first bit of information regarding NHL 15:
http://www.easports.com/nhl/nhl15?ut...=1399293818741

- Confirmed for next-gen consoles
- New Announcing team (Doc/Eddie - Right..... THERE!)
(Pray for Pierre DLC? .. Sarcasm..)
- Enhanced Puck Physics
- Enhanced Player Collisions
- Authentic Arenas
- Authentic Player Gear / Styles

My concerns relate back to the 'player pile-ups' and whether or not it's going to be a silly group of people stumbling on one another just by skating on top of each other or if it'll be implemented well to make it more natural. It shouldn't be able to occur all the time.

I also find it alarming that they spent time with "9,000 unique crowd models". I feel it's something more about fluff and used more in replays than it is in actual gameplay. I just don't want to see more of their focus on these things rather than fixing the gameplay and AI problems that plagued past series.

I'm most intrigued by the player styles and if they'll finally be able to dictate between Pavel Datsyuk and Steve Ott when handling the puck.

They also discuss how receiving the puck is associated with the right stick and deking so I'll be interested to see if stick to stick passes require more skill so there's no glue like effect.

Loving the list of changes so far, can't wait to see it in action. Rogers Arena looked amazing!

Sounds amazing. I can't wait to see more.

On paper everything looks awesome. I really hope they can distinguish players this year. That was my biggest gripe with the NHL series the past few years. Sidney Crosby played like Patrice Bergeron who played like Drew Stafford who played like Trevor Gillies. There was no personality in these players, nothing to set them apart. You could have Shawn Thornton score 50 goals.

That's what made NHL Revamped so excellent was players played more like themselves. I hope the guys at EA Sports can deliver on this.

Everything else seems awesome. I hope the Bruins aren't playing in Boston Bruins arena anymore though

Reading that feature list got me so hyped! Anxious to see more. Been waiting for a groundbreaking NHL game for years now and looks like we may finally have it.

It definitely sounds great but it's EA.. gameplay videos will show the truth.

Two things that I need to see implemented:
1. Better CPU AI.
2. A clear and concise differential between player types and skills.

I'm really loving that list and I'm excited to see what next gen has to offer.
I just pray that the CPU isn't given boosts and that your AI teammates also aren't as lame and impotent on the defensive side of the puck as previous gen versions.

If the CPU can do it, I want to be able to do it. Even in NHL14, which I enjoy, I still don't feel like Crosby or Datsyuk. I don't feel as quick or nimble.
And then I get more frustrated when I see Dustin Brown dancing, juking and twisting through traffic like he's Bobby Orr, when my Datsyuk feels like Bobby Probert.

I'll be surprised if EA ever makes a PC version, which is sad because I used to mod the hell out of NHL 02-06 back in the day.

Absolutely stoked about that feature list. Easily the most excited I've been for an NHL since '07.

Only slight disappointment is that there was no mention of goalie improvements; Which I think would have been a bullet point on the main feature list had they actually done something with it. But we will see.

All the features sound awesome, (wait and see!)
Oh, the "HYPE" train is rolling; and I just jumped on! Choo-Choo!
Can't wait to see some in game, gameplay!
Let's go Habs!

I've been patiently waiting for The Show to come out, but I'm already impatiently awaiting NHL 15 now! I skipped 14 since I was upgrading consoles. This should be worth the wait. I'm itching to play while I watch the Stanley Cup playoffs!

Wow, what a game this is shaping to be!

Hope Doc has emotion and sounds as good in the game as in real life...hopefully he really puts emotion into his "scoressssss!" I remember playing NHL faceoff and he wasn't really full of any emotion.

Some quick thoughts:
-Real Time Presentation. Hopefully the 5 man celebration is back in and players don't run into each other etc
-Goalies hopefully are different and not all of them play the same style etc. It be nice to have to have a different strategy playing against the goalies.
-Authentic Goal Horns/Music
-Is it just the NHL on NBC or is it also NBCSN? Happy with both and can't wait to see this in motion.
-"Feature real-world pre-game video commentary with Doc and Eddie set against in-game visuals,"
I guess this is like Madden in the beginning with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms?
-HOPEFULLY players will actually help and react well on offense and not just stand around doing nothing
