MLB 14 The Show News Post

Being a huge baseball fan I have trekked across the country trying to get to as many ballparks as possible. For me, one of the attractions of baseball, aside for the game itself, are the epic cathedrals in which these teams play. There is something magical about walking through the turnstile(s), making your way up the ramp or stairs, and seeing the inside of the park for the first time. Taking in the colors, sounds, ambiance, and architecture, creates an almost euphoric adrenaline for fans, and feelings that are difficult to replicate.

It's a beautiful ballpark! Plus it's in a great location the sports complex with Lincoln financial field and the Wells Fargo center within a short walk of each other and right of I-95!

Big fan of Jacobs field(won't refer to it as Progressive) When we lived in Cleveland, my Wife's company she worked for had corp. tickets, and we grabbed them a couple of times. Been there a total of like 6-7 times, and have always enjoyed it.

I've shared in the past what I think are the best that I've been to. For the Show...

5. The Ballpark in Arlington - Arlington, Texas
I know I'm being a homer here, but the Ballpark really looks great in the game (except for the big flag thing, but whatever). When it is full, it is the most beautiful park in all of Baseball, and the corners and jetstream really make it a short park. I love the bandbox feel of the park.

4. Fenway Park - Boston Massachusetts
Not only does the history help the park, the odd walls and corners make this a real gem to play in. I love the entire look of the park from the red seats to the Green Monster. The park gives a varied feel to the game, something that a lot of ballparks really can't force. I love going on road trips to Boston in game.

3. Wrigley Field - Chicago, Illinois
Another old park that has a lot of history behind it, and another park where the ambiance really helps to soak in the game. The ivy and brick along with the old time scoreboard and turn-of-the-century feel make this a special ballpark, and it's one of the reasons why I like playing with the Cubs in the National League during a franchise.

2. PNC Park - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Although it is a new park, the home of the Pirates really has a special feel to it. I love how close everybody is to the action on the field, and the colors really pop along the river and in the stands. I know this year in the next-gen game there are issues with lighting which is a shame, but this is still a great ballpark to play in.

1. Union Station (Minute Maid Park) - Houston, Texas
I might have never mentioned this place a few years ago, but the Home of the Astros is a great ballpark in real life and in the game. It also has a bandbox feel, but Tal's hill and the view of downtown really set this gem apart from the rest. Had the Astros not joined the major league last year, I might have been tempted to play with them this year.

For me:

Fenway - nothing says classic like the Green Monster. Not to mention the ballpark has odd dimensions that make it unique.

Wrigley - Ivy. Nothing more to say

Kauffman - Like the pre remodel version better. The fountains are the selling point

AT&T - One of the coolest stadiums in the game. The bay beyond RF.

Minute Maid - Cool dimensions, a retractable roof and a train.
Miller Park - Tied. The windows and slide for HR celebrations looks great.

Still wish SCEA would include Tiger Stadium. I have been to a number of games there. It had some cool features like the upper deck overhang in RF and small dugout cashes for relief pitchers. Oh and the deepest CF in baseball at 440'.

Someone hasn't been there... They do a great job of keeping the stadium up-to-date while not taking away the historic feel.

I know we're talking about the game but one of my most breathtaking moments in my life was walking out and seeing the Green Monster.

Thankfully Rogers is being converted to grass in the next couple years. Should make a big difference.

Fenway is a dump! People talk about the Catwalk at Trop, but ignore Fenway's 900 ft. wall in left field and 302 ft Pesky Pole in Right. Is it baseball or Jai alai? Lol.
