Updated NASCAR '14 Patch News, Free Daytona 500 DLC Pack Arrives After Patch Releases

In early March, the NASCAR '14 team announced a patch was coming soon. Earlier this month they revealed some more details and stated they have moved onto the final testing phase.

Today the team has stated they will complete final beta testing tomorrow with final QA and submission to follow.

Unfortunately, it looks like it might be a while longer before we see the patch. For those of you that are waiting for it to finally arrive, they also mentioned a free Daytona 500 DLC will arrive shortly afterwards.

No... you can race any race in single player or season mode... The DLC is typically re-creating moments from the races already run for you to replay, and try and create new history, or re-create it. That's likely what they are referring to here.

Actually, in this case it's referring to paint schemes. From their FB page.

I've waited this long, I guess I can't really say much else. If I was going to return the game and complain I should have done it a month or more ago. Here's to hoping the patch comes out soon because I really miss playing this game -- it has tons of potential once the CPU AI and aggressiveness is fixed.

Patch still hasn't released yet..likely sometime in June.

Lets see....2 or 3 weeks ago they were saying it would be out in 2 or 3 weeks. Last week I looked and it said by the end of the month. Today I went by there website and it said something about early June. So we are all still left in a holding pattern, just like every other year with this game.

Exactly why I held off buying it.

We could cut and paste patch comments from last year and they would still apply.

I'm thinking more and more that I'm not going to buy it....There are a couple other games coming out on the PS4 over the next month or so that I would rather spend the cash on.

This is where I am at. Was holding off for the same reason and the patch delays have turned me off completely now.

I just saw that it looks like the patch is still at least 3 weeks away. SMH! Now we are talking about late June if we are lucky.

I literally love this game.... It's the only sports game I own that I just don't win every time....

If they would patch it, well I'd be so happy

Before this game, all I knew about cars was that my dad dropped me off using one.... And gas is expensive!

As for NASCAR, I knew nothing... The game caused me to learn about car setup and the sport in general. It's girl friend since I can be my gender... And unlike other sports games that let me create a girl, they never call me he, him or that guy!
Game has so much potential, the paint booth and add sponsors aspect is beyond awesome

just need the patch...

Seriously??? What a joke. Completely inexcusable on their behalf. Just pack it in already Eutechnyx. It's obvious they aren't capable of making the game right. I doubt they release another edition next year, or at all, but if they do, I certainly won't be buying it. Such a shame, so much potential in the game, they just can't figure it all out. For a patch to take this long, it better either fix everything to at least make the game playable with pit stops, or they really should just pack it in. If they can't get it right with this much time to patch it, then theyre just never going to IMO.

That being said, it can still be fun to play without pit stops etc... but... what kind of nascar racing is that???

From what I just read on the Eutechnyx forums is that the patch is in the hands of Deep Silver and they are testing it. Apparently none of the guys that work on the game are answering questions or responding to anything on their own forums anymore. Which makes me believe that the patch will be garbage anyways.

I got a $25 gift card for Gamestop I'm just gonna go and grab Dirt 3 or something like that to have, and if they ever decide to fix this game I might try it again sometime.

Crazy. At this point, I'm likely just holding onto it until I trade everything in towards one of the new consoles later this summer.

The lack of communication and updates is what is really appalling during this process. They should at least have the decency to provide an update on the situation, since the game was obviously flawed again upon release.

Yup , I've run about 6 races so far. My opinion inside line is better. This game the A.I. plays like a lot of online players do, a slam fest. Both games have issues but at least I could run a complete race with inside line.

From what I am seeing it looks like the patch is in the hands of Microsoft and Sony right now, and that we are just waiting for them to approve it. Hopefully it doesn't fail and get sent back to be fixed, and I hope even more that the patch does something to help fix the game.
