MLB 14 The Show News Post

There are certain things in life that you can count on annually, some good, some bad. If you’re a fan of SCEA San Diego’s MLB The Show series, one of the best is the arrival of the fully edited minor league roster set, O.S. Full Minors, released by OSer MK Knight (Mike). Mike has been working on roster edits for various games now for well over a decade, including such games as High Heat Baseball (PC) and the deceased NHL 2K series.

For the last seven years, though, Mike has switched all focus over to the MLB series. What started out as a one-man operation has now blossomed into a full scale production, with several key Operation Sports members joining the fold. Mike readily admits that although in the beginning it was just him, he is more of a facilitator now than anything.

I hear its true pronunciation lies within the mythos of this Japanese video game series:

I have never used Knights rosters before, but I do appreciate all the work Him and his crew does. I usually make a few minor leaguers for the cardinals that I will probably call up in a season and its a lot of work., I can't imagine how long it takes to make the whole minor league. But I just want to say Thanks for all the work they do.

I have the knowledge of playing with both Knight's custom rosters on MLB the Show and harsh's rosters on MLB 2K and I have to give the edge to Knight, the detail that goes into his rosters really show his love for the game, and he doesn't get paid to do it, he just does it because he wants, thank you Knight! MLB is a great game but with your super customized roster, it is an even better game!

It's funny, I was introduced to this series with MLB 2006 (The 2005 version) and played every game until MLB 09 without downloading a single roster. I've been playing each release ever since with the OSFM rosters and I honestly wonder how I got thru all those years without them. To a baseball fanatic like me, these rosters are literally the best DLC of ANY game genre.

Keep up the good work Mike and the rest of the gang. We've all got a whole new generation of gaming to enjoy your work.

Mr. Knight, how influential was the other guy at the beginning in continuing the life of your rosters? Wondered what happened to him, made me think of him as the Paul Allen of roster making, lol.

Love the rosters, can't wait for its next generation debut.

The O.S.F.M.?....
He's the workhorse part of the team right now!
It's O.S. member RidinDwnKingsley.

We were both doing our own versions of minor league rosters......
He pointed out that it would make more sense too pool our resources and time......and there it was!

Again....I cannot tell you how much of a Godsend it is to have a great group of dedicated guys work on these. It's a much better "product" now than it was when I was working alone. Much better insight to more teams.....more eyes on the set means less things slip by. Heck...just less bleariness from grinding out 1500 or so players!

The author knew he couldn't mention everyone...that's why no other names were used....so others would feel slighted. But I'm glad he conveyed how much of a community and concerted effort the O.S.F.M. have become.

One thing I forgot to mention to Bob when he was interviewing me...was O.S. and Steve. Steve was very gracious to allow me to use the Operation Sports name in the title of the roster sets. I'm very grateful for that.

M.K.

This will be my first Show game (bought a PS4).

The article says that the roster will be available for the PS4 on Day 1. How is that possible if you don't get an advance copy of the PS4 version? Is the roster equally compatible with PS3 and PS4 versions?

The PS3/PS4/Vita all share the same roster vault. It's literally the same exact roster.

The best rosters out there and it isn't even close. I will be getting the PS4 and The Show on May 6 and I just cannot wait. Thanks Mike.

The last graf is the word: We do enjoy them, Mike. Never stop.
Really, I have played since day one. I have started six franchises, and deleted six. (And will delete seventh when OSFM drops.)
Your "labor of love" is a big reason why I love this game. When combined with a dev/pub combination that gives a quality product, your (and the rest of the OS team you utilize) work is more than appreciated, it's like the cream cheese frosting to my carrot cake.
Thanks. And thanks again.

I started buying MLBTS back in 09 after I had enough of that MLB2k garbage that was put out yearly, and I broke down an bought a PS3 just for this game. I remember my wife saying your buying a new console for 1 game, and I said yeah but look at it, and then look at that garbage MLB2k game I have been playing on the 360, I cant take it anymore, so she gave in and said OK, not that I wouldnt have bought it anyway, lol. Just by accident I ran across those rosters, and if it werent for these rosters Im not sure how much I would actually even play this game, cause of how bad the fake minors are done by SCEA. These rosters are a blessing each and every year, and Im thankful that so many come together to work on this project and get it done so quickly. Thank you too Knight and all that put it so much work.
