The media deluge is beginning...

Nice write up Glen.

So the in-game framework for SOTS was carried over, it's just that the system itself doesn't support the outside music. Good to know.

For the love of god Sony, give The Show gamers what they want and patch this in

Nice little preview overall (though one minor quibble, I'm fairly certain it was 07 that was the first on PS3, not 06).

That aside, this was probably the best news from the write-up to me:

First, what hasn’t been moved to the PS4 version completely are most aspects of the “Sounds of the Show” feature. It’s still present in the game, but since the PS4′s OS still doesn’t support .mp3 files, the development team wasn’t able to make Sounds of the Show as diverse as it is on PS3. Instead, users are only allowed to work with music and sounds made available on the disc, and not allowed to create custom sounds or import their own music. This is completely due to the fact that the OS itself doesn’t allow them to do so yet. If/when support is added to the OS on the PS4, the team definitely plans to add these additional items back into the mode though.
That should end some worry/speculation. Hopefully Sony gets their firmware updated in time for 15.

Probably wishful thinking but hope they can add a patch if sony updates the ps4 to support adding music files on the system

Just nail down that framerate. I know its usually the last thing tweaked so I'm positive they'll get a handle on it.

I think thats probably the last thing we have to worry about. They got 60 on PS3. PS4 should have no problem achieving that.

You would have to think they at least talk with each other to where Sony San Diego can get something like that pushed through to Sony if need be

Its their first rodeo with this hardware, so take nothing for granted. I still believe they'll get it locked around 60fps with some stadiums having frame drops in certain situations. Basically stuff that they wouldn't know about until the game ships.

Glenn, did you see any Minor League/Spring Training stadiums?

# 14 Madden's Jowels @ 04/08/14 03:42 PM
I was assuming that a lot of those framerate issues in the game were due to Youtube and not the game itself. Even in 1080p the video is compressed and I think youtube framerates are about 24fps or something?

VERY excited to hear that Sounds of the Show is not dead for good. I'll be honest, I was very tempted to roll with just the PS3 version this year because it will be tough to go back to not having authentic stadium sounds. It just adds so much to the atmosphere!

I hope they can get online play ironed out. Their track record doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, though. I just think about how even a not-so-mind-blowing online franchise capability (it has its share of problems and omissions) turned a mediocre Madden franchise into one of my favorite sports gaming experiences. Just think what smooth online play and the addition of online franchise could do to an already stellar game like The Show...

+1 !
This years version for the PS3 is the first time I have imported music for walk ups and home runs and such. I can't believe I waited so long to try this! It is amazing how much more it adds to the game. Hope it gets added!

I wasn't able to try any Minor League or Spring Training stadiums in the build we were playing.

There has to be some minor league stadiums because of RTTS. I don't think they would have you play in a major league stadium when you are in the minors.

I'm well aware of that, but for whatever reason there are people on these boards who seem to think otherwise. I was only asking that question to get it out of the way. Some think if they are in they are ported over which they are not as I asked that question a over a month ago.
