67 speed for Brad miller? He had 6 triples in 306 at bats?

On this episode of Jeopardy, for the Baltimore Orioles, 2nd in the AL in SO's, "Who is Steve Johnson?"

I wouldn't think it's Gausmann or Bundy, as both have MLB experience - and should be in the game. So, who is Steve Johnson?

Just a SCEA random player at AAA, who maybe got called up early in the season to get the SO's?

I also found it rather unusual Beltran was a 90 overall. Not that it makes him a better player in any one category, but trying to figure out who he was actually better than in that many categories to add up to a 90. Definitely the most surprising rating I've seen so far. Also felt a bunch of the Yankees were a bit higher than what I would have expected relative to other players.

He gets a lot of his outs through strikeouts, but he probably can't pitch enough innings to rack up that amount of strikeouts in a season. I'm assuming some O's pitchers got injured or traded in that sim, I doubt his rating is high enough for them to start him that much.

You guys realize they only changed the formula for the overall? The individual ratings are going to still be on the same scale.

You guys are looking way into the overalls.

I don't know whether or not the ratings are good until I see the individual ratings. I really don't care if a player like Adams is a 77 overall if he has some good power and so forth.

My only nitpick complaint would be that some young players seem a bit high for not even having a 3 year career yet some established players like Allen Craig are still low. But once again....overalls don't really matter.

Weaver only at an 83? And Wilson at 82 after a solid year last year?

I'd like to know Santana and Harang's ratings now that the Braves have aquired them!

I may have to do a LOT of editing before getting a game in, as a ratings nut.

And no...I don't care about the overall number. But some of those "contact vs Righties...etc" are extremely wrong. Cervelli shouldn't have a 70 power against righties because of the power he showed last year in such limited ABs.

I don't care what rating system they're using... Colby Rasmus shouldn't be a 72 overall CF after last year.

Chris Stewart has something like 50 power vs righties, 55 contact...which is a joke...that would make him a legitimate starter. He should be much lower than that.

Saw a lot of little ratings that are suspect...specially as a guy that spends the offseason looking at splits of last year and the last couple of years for almost every player to see how they're going to end up in the Show lol

I'm a Yankees fans...but I don't see how Uehara is not a 90+ overall....

Really surprised to see how low Joaquin Benoit and Huston Street were rated. I'm curious to see how the individual ratings for some of the players compare to from the previous year.

However considering the scale, I think the overalls are fair.

One curious thing I saw was Jeff Mathis, Marlins backup catcher. If I'm looking at the screen correctly he has a con R of 81. In 2013 he hit rhp at a .167 clip, 2012 .218, 2011 .170 which is closer to 18 than 81, I wonder if they transposed the number.

Better check surveillance video to see if Jeff Mathis sneaked into San Diego Studios and adjusted his attributes.

Cervelli's numbers are accurate based upon the template but you are not recognizing is his durability which will be so low he won't be a factor.

In all honesty, contact rating is based on a lot more than batting average. Did u check his strikeout numbers? Regardless, I know Mathis is horrendous with the bat but he's no 18, I gotta think u were exaggerating with that number.

It has to be a data input error. His 3 year weighted average vs rhp is .181 with 100 strikeouts in 300 at bats. There are pitchers with better numbers than that.

Something is not correct there.
For sure.
I'll e-mail Lorne to check it out.

Ugh Jeff Mathis is gonna be pissed about this ... He was probably already telling his chidren "Look kids, daddy's an 81 this year!"
