I hope it works out. Would love to have a good wrestling game. WWF No Mercy and Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 were the last wrestling games I truly loved.

Pro Wrestling X has definitely been through some hard times, as Dusty Rhodes would put it.

In the last year alone, the ex-programmer basically abandoned the project and then held his source code ransom.

Thankfully, the new version that's been built looks way better than the old code they were using when the Uprising build was released in 2012.

I still can't believe I was 19/20 when this game was first announced. Through the up's and downs it still has a chance of happening. I hope it does so I can cop! lol

You weren't a fan of the Firepro series at all?

Pro Wrestling X is officially Greenlit on Steam.

If it's even 60-75% of the game that Fire Pro Wrestling R (or KoC 2) was, it'll be one of the best wrestling games ever created.

I would definitely buy this game, but I'm a little skeptical when it comes to kickstarters. i've contributed to kickstarters in the past only to see it not reach the goal and have my money sent back. But if they guarantee a playable release at some point in the near future (like later this year) I would definitely make a donation.

As far as your post ubernoob, I look at this game more like the N64 games but with modern 3D graphics rather than FPW or KOC2. I know FPW is an amazing game, but some people can't get past the camera angle and sprite based engine. KOC2 was basically sold to be FPW in 3D, and it was cool, but the in-ring movement and believability wasn't as good as other wrestling games like the N64 classics.

What I'm hoping for is basically a modern 3D version of the game Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 on N64 with new features, and possibly enhancements to the control scheme, and interactivity and stuff like that. VPW2 was an awesome game, and still holds its own, but the blocky graphics and limited control scheme hold it back. Now if it could have the deep move sets of games like FPR or KOC2, that would be awesome. I hope PWX has referees and some cool venues. Doesn't need to have commentary even, so long as the gameplay is entertaining and replayable.

The game's founder, Dave Wishnowski, has guaranteed that there will be a new PWX build released this year.

Now that PWX is officially greenlit by Valve, it is likely that we'll see the next build show up as an Early Access game on STEAM.

If so, it would be the first wrestling game on STEAM.

Spoiler

I have donated for every campaign. .. have once again pledged support. This is the most expensive games I've ever played lol. Can't wait for it though.
