NBA Live 14 Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (PS4, Xbox One)

EA Sports has released NBA Live 14 title update #2 for PS4 users. Once it is available for the Xbox One, we'll update this post.

UPDATE: It is available now for Xbox One users.

ALL-NEW SHOOTAROUND MODE

Improve your shooting, dribbling, and offensive moves by selecting any current NBA player and taking to an empty practice gym
The mode will improve your game, and also serve as the foundation for NBA LIVE 15

GRAPHICAL IMPROVEMENTS

NBA LIVE 14�s lighting system has been updated and re-tuned to help bring the game to life. Color values have been improved to help remove some player�s �plastic� look
Tweaked and/or tuned every player and every uniform
New lighting improves the skin texture of players, and colors will be more accurate and robust

NEW ACCESSORIES

Added official court and jerseys for 2014 NBA All-Star weekend in New Orleans
Added new adidas Hardwood Classic uniforms
Added new basketball, complete with the signature of the NBA�s new commissioner Adam Silver

IMPROVED CONTROL AND RESPONSIVENESS

Tuned first steps and dribble moves (including start and stop) to smooth out animations
Improved transitions between animations

PASSING IMPROVEMENTS

Players experience increased responsiveness with improvements to ball physics, pass speeds and branch points within animations
Ball interacts with rim much more organically. Swishes have been reduced
Increased the variety of passing speeds
Improved lead passing

LIVE Season

Adjusted the camera to address hitches
Normal broadcast view has replaced player lock
More variety in the types of LIVE Challenges available

No comments on anything lately? You've been pretty opinionated on this game up until lately and I'm curious what your take on everything is, given the recent developments.

The dummy ai that ea has known about since launch obviously cannot be patched or they would have done that already

Gameplay is good on my end, so I just don't mention it. Gameplay wise, I'm extremely happy with the game. I'm not having the double pass issue or anything of the sorts. I wish the Timeouts were taken by the CPU, etc. I've still yet to have the late game bug either. Gameplay, I'm good.

What I'm not good with, is the fact that I can't play with the team that I choose, because of the "generic" nature of some of the guys. I wanted to run with the Bucks in a Dynasty, great young small forward, and a lot of moveable pieces, yet when I started, Giannis looks like Glenn freakin Robinson and Nate Wolters isn't even the right race.

So until those guys are fixed, I'm at a stand still with the game. I'm done playing one off games.

I have a heck of a Live Ultimate Team, but that mode just doesn't do it for me. The excitement of opening gold packs is fun, but it's just not a mode for me. I'm more about the gameplay. We need editing options, and we need player updates.

I'm not getting any "inside" information or anything. My answers here recently have came from Tweets which are open for public viewing. I'm just hoping that they do what they said they were working on. Otherwise, the game will remain shelved until I can use the Bucks. (when's the last time you heard someone say they'd stop playing a game because the Bucks weren't correct?

)

Anyone run into any "EA Glitch" kind of AI? Where you cannot do anything and the AI is unstoppable? I think it happened to me, I included the 3rd quarter which is more or less representative of my gameplay. 4th quarter is just absolute BS, outscored 26 to 4....

I think this is pretty much every sports game thing rather than EA, haha.....

It does seem especially bad in UT though....

Jao I appreciate everything you do for pc but that was good ai behavior.

CPU made a lot of adjustment in the 4th and you didn't make any. They put the clamps on and you kept playing your style. Watching on phone but it looks like you didn't run any plays.

And the non stop reaching didn't help much with defense.

no need to sugar coat it with the PC stuff, lol
Its tough because I want to say stuff like,
I know I play cheesey
I know the game adjusts
I know I played terrible
I know it was against the West
I know but...
when all of the above explain it. At the same time, that style is what got me that lead. That is, good or not, how I play UT, because there are simply too many unknowns with jumpers after this last patch for me. That's why I don't run plays anymore, at most I will run the cut quick play a couple times. Part of it is fun factor of signature dribble and see how it gets me open, but the shooting timing is so, weird, for me that I do stuff like that.

Ever thought of taking a time out? People have this same thing happen to them in 2k's game and it's because the games are coded for runs and you have to stop them with timeouts.

I know it's super frustrating, how am I supposed to buy an ultra-gold premium pack when I can't even get into ultimate team!

I was. I disconnected from my wired lan and went wireless after booting the game, and then it worked. I don't get it. Give that a try.

I'm already wireless and I tried resetting my router which didn't fix it. I'll keep experimenting with different things.

I did the same thing and now the game loads up fine for me.

I guess something must have glitched out my file during one of the updates.

Hey OS can you write an article on how EA Sports & NBA Live have failed to keep promises they made before they launched the game, and now that we are 2 title updates in they still haven't kept that promise, they cant even get the roster correct SMH, i consistently post on their Facebook page and get nothing but "we are heading this over to our dev team" or "we will look into that for you" I'm getting tired of their excuses, and i'll not be buying another EA NBA game again because they will tell us anything to get us to buy, and when they don't deliver we get stuck with whatever they choose to dump us with

Exactly! The other 149,000 people who bought copies of this game need to lock arms and put pressure on them to give us quality for Live 15 or we will not support it.

If you reinstall, nothing will erase. I did last night and seemed to still have all my data. Reinstalling didn't seem to do anything though, I reconnected my router a couple times and that seemed to fix it.
