It’s tough to have any expectations coming into this new generation of consoles. Seven years ago we all had high expectations, and for sports gamers, it turned out to be arguably the biggest let down in the history of sports gaming. But this time it truly is different.

NBA 2K14, with its flaws, is ushering in a new generation of sports games.

But even more importantly, a sports game – yes, a sports game – is ushering the entire generation with graphics that can truly be considered next-gen. But a game isn’t defined by only what you see, as NBA 2K14 is also quick to let you know.

Everyone seems to be speaking on everything but one thing. How's the gameplay in MyPlayer/MyCareer? Are your teammates still useless and no help like in previous versions?

The game is great an 8.5, I dunno, maybe an 8 at best. Quite a few things have been stripped and for someone who spent a good bit of time with the original 2K14, these things are missed. Just played tonight and experienced some TERRIBLE AI logic. Dwight Howard had 5 fouls in the 3rd and it left him in? I had him out in 2 minutes.

The team mates and ai are decent. The foul management has been broken for the last three years. If a player gets two fouls in the first quarter, they are removed from the game, only to return at the beginning of the second. Then they stay pretty much the rest of the game without regard to fouls. Last year fouls would remove the player from the starting lineup after the half. I am not sure if that is still the case. Also fouls seem to simply change a players position on the depth chart because I routinely seem to be subed as a power forward after getting extra fouls.
This seems like the most basic bit of programing,especially compared to the stellar defensive rotation or ai controlled player movement with and without the ball.
I played the demo of NBA live 14 on the one and am hope they will up(rewrite) the game to push 2k14 to fix these basic things. Don't get me wrong this game is great and the new control scheme has grown on me, I love 2k. I just played 2k13 for a year with the same loss camera setting defect and only 2 patches in a game which forces VC to enjoy a game which I played 60 bucks to buy.

how is the coaching logic in both mygm and my career? will starters be taken out if the game is a blowout in the 4th?

Enter mycareer mode press B (circle for ps4) go to settings and it should be there.

i'm actually enjoying 2k14 on the current gen ps3 - of course better defensive rebounding in career mode is coming via patch (right 2k???) hahaha - but this review is promising as at least i can look fwd to playing it on the ps4 and wont be dissapointed - thanks!!! - fix the rebounding and team defense please.....i said please LOL

yo 2k ive been looking for the Association mode for 2 day going I know its here. come to find out its not WTF!! I understand yall put a lot of work into the myplayer and I like that mode to, but yall MUST bring back the Association BACK!!! and all will be forgiveing. but its still the best BB game ive ever played it blows my mind ever time I play it lol

in my career, does it bother anyone that the computer makes so many shots, and the few that they do miss, they get the offensive rebound?
