NBA Live 14 News Post

Let's face it, it's not often you see a gaming company not only apologize for a lackluster release but also vow to make tangible improvements to the product before the next version releases.

NBA Live 14 Executive Producer Sean O'Brien is doing just that, commenting on the rough week the folks at EA have had with the largely hugely negative feedback on NBA Live 14 and vowing to improve the title.

"We hear loud and clear that some of you are disappointed in various aspects of NBA LIVE 14, and I’m sorry if the game doesn’t live up to your expectations," O'Brien said. "Looking at your feedback, we have laid out a plan to make NBA LIVE 14 a better game as quickly as we can."

The plan to improve NBA Live 14 will involve Twitch Live streams to teach the skills that will help make the experience with Live 14 a better one by teaching about the gameplay mechanics within the game as well as blogs on the EA website. Currently there are three new posts on the Live website: a controller guide, perfecting your style, and levels of dribble.

O'Brien is also promising tangible improvements to the game. Graphics and animations will see "drastic and immediate" improvements in the coming weeks and months within the game.

With such a negative reaction thus far to Live 14, it is definitely a good sign that EA is ramping up to improve the product post-launch with so much support. This bodes well for the series' future, but this also puts EA behind the 8-ball to truly improve the Live experience sooner rather than later.

At least ultimate team is better than my team, and very likely this game doesn't favor arcade like 2k online

There is no way we will see adequate improvemnts to this game through a patch. I cant remeber a patch that greatly improved player models and animations.

They will fix Lebrons face

They will remove a few awkward under the basket animations

They will MAYBE add sliders

They will MAYBE allow editing of rosters

The first two I see happening within December Xmas time

The latter two might not be even considered.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did a price drop after Black Friday

But even if they had 1 yr to do the game they basically made the same game that was in NCAA Basketball 2010.

While on a twitch stream Scott was over heard saying "man some of these comments are riducoulous" and ALL the comments at the time he said that were about animations not being fluid. HIM saying THAT shows they cant even see it....

Seriously!
EA have spent the last few months trying to convince us how great their NBA game is going to be in an effort to make us spend our hard earned money on this game. Now they say, sorry guys it's actually a bit pants! They could of course offer to reimburse all those who bought this rubbish, but no, they'll just spend a few weeks stringing people along, saying that there is a patch to fix it all before declaring that they're now concentrating on next years game.

First of all, 3 years is the time that you had to develop this game. 3 damn years. That is a lot of time for a company that has tons of money. Second, you went the whole 2013 without showing progress on what you were working on. A couple trailers is never enough. Third...you released the demo along side the release day which in all my years of playing games is the most awkward thing I have ever seen. Fourth...which ties into my first point. Why the hell didn't EA release this game on XBOX 360 or PS3?? would have made way more sense. It really makes them look bad when they were working on ONE version of the game and still messed it up. 2k Sports was developing two games at once in a single year. I had to get that off my chest because I am very disappointed that this games is bad because I used to be a live guy that has moved on with the great 2k series. There is still a piece of my heart that still wants to play some live. This BS of an effort just killed it for me.

This apology is a just a scam because they couldn't hold the game back again so they figured, lets just release it and apologize for it. I have no hopes for LIVE 15. Last live game that was good was Live 10 only because they stole 2k's programmer for one year..then he went back to 2k with all of EA's knowledge. SMH
Key point: THEY COULDN'T HOLD THE GAME BACK AGAIN... trust, if they could have, they would have.

So basically we had guys defending this game before release stating we shouldn't judge the videos because it wasn't the final product. Now we have a EA representative who acknowledges that the game was basically released sub par and what we saw in those Trailiers was the actual gameplay.I wonder where all those guys who kept defending game went now????

Better yet we have some guys saying you don't know basketball if you don't embrace this game after EA apologizes for it. Pretty entertaining stuff.

yeah. someone posted a article on here awhile back stating that the nba was upset at ea for not releasing a game the past few years. maybe the patch is things they wanted to add/fix but ran out of time.

They made a HUGE mistake by not releasing NBA Live 14 on current-gen.
Those EA ppl who suggested it could compete with NBA 2K on next-gen systems should be fired.

From the Live 14 Wishlist: post from RayRay34 months ago

Re: nba live 14 wishlist

I've avoided this post for a while because I've always hated them, but as a live supporter I couldn't resist looking at it. All I have too say is WOW! nick for a game that haven't come out in 3 years you're wishing for ALOT!!!

Here is what I wish for. Build off of live10 for the first year. Improve the AI, improve the Ball and Player Movment of all all AI controlled Players. Work on animations that were in Live 10, and if you can get all that down then give us classic teams and a better CAP system.

Lets all think small before we start shooting for the stars people! All of our #1 wish should be give us a game.....period!

How'd you know Ray?

How so? Serious question. How is UT better? From what I could see, Lives UT pales to Madden and FIFAs. Both of which MyTeam compares quite well to. If I'm missing something, I'd like to know. May give me a reason to keep playing outside of change of pace...

Ultimate Team in Live has no Auction House and no way to play friends.

Two mode-killers right there.
