NBA 2K14 News Post

Next-Gen NBA 2K14 certainly loves detail, as seen in the latest screenshot. Check out the detail of the basket, camera, shot clock, wiring, net and more. November 15th can't get here soon enough.

Exactly I'd rather see pics than video on a game like this. 2K has proven to me with various titles that it's a definite buy. I remember being floored when I first saw an interview in NFL 2K5

Probably not.

The details in this next gen game is great but, I just hope they put this much effort into gameplay. If this plays anything like the current gen version......it's gonna be a turn off for me.

I am very OCD about minute little details so since they're trying to show off their "attention to detail" I feel like this is an open invitation to be nitpicky. The backboard, and backstop are not modelled accurately. There, I said it.

Seriously, WTF? A week till PS4 launch and just barebones with details. No Livestreams of Gameplay? Like seriously. Enough with Screenshots, stop hiding and tell us everything. Would love to know Online, creation hub, classic teams, and a lot more.

Do we really need to know, when it comes down to it? Thus far it seems like an upgrade over current gen. I don't see anything that would keep you from buying it is you like bball.

This has been the least publisized next gen push I've ever witnessed. From all involved. I have no idea what these companies are thinking . it makes no sense.

I was guessing they had taken in a lot of money for the rights for "exclusive first this and that" but who knows

Good 75%? Not even close. More like 95% (I kid, I kid.)

This just feels like an obligatory post. Cause they said they will be dropping info everyday. So this is the next thing they dropped, which was weird and no offense, also lazy and arrogant. There is no preorder incentive for this game though so that's good. I always hate preordering games. (see why here)

FYP

I don't really mind the lack of detail. 2k is a reliable company when it comes to basketball.

The pictures are targeted for a casual audience. Someone is going to look at these and say, "Wow, this game looks gorgeous. Looks better than Live. I'm gonna pick this up."

Would it be nice to get gameplay details? Sure. But is it necessary at this point? Not for me.

As impressive as the screenshot is, i personally find it irrelevant if i find out that in MYCAREER im still being subbed on/off the court every 30 seconds, or competing against sides that are trading for a team of point guards in MYGM.

AI and coaching logic is where i want to see some next gen development

Im not asking for gameplay videos anymore man and I wasnt there.

Im specifically talking about what the sound guys handle, not the gameplay guys. You might not believe sound makes a world of a difference but it does.

As customers, your ONLY right is to buy or not to buy. You have a right to not be lied to IF someone tells you something. You have a right to demand information but you don't gave any right to that information. So, at some point, you will get that info. But on their time. Not yours. If you don't like it, DON'T buy it! In the meantime, if you don't care for the info that does get released, should you have the right to cry about not getting the info you want? That's debatable.

But who said those things weren't in the game??? Because they haven't shown you that, u assume it's not in the game?!

I wasn't targeting that post at you, sorry if it came off that way. I agree, sound makes a tremendous difference. Example; WWE 2k14. Those little tidbits they added in with the wrestlers makes a big difference.

i know it may be a nitpick but...with all this amazing technology and the attention to details, why for god sake the net is still moving like NBA 2K6 on the ps2?!?!

The net is moving in a screenshot?

Why are some of you complaining about one of the best net simulations ever? It moves pretty realistically in my opinion. Some people complain it too tight. Others say it's too loose. Frankly, depending on the material and wear, a net a deform quite differently. So much of it depends on the ball - which makes the 2k nets outstanding. It's not a set of canned animations based on the trajectory of the ball. It deflects and deforms to the ball as the ball goes through the net. You can see this in the replays. Outside if variable elasticity (SUPER expensive) and mesh folding (which NO sim can handle elegantly) this is by far one of the best simulation of a basketball net you will see. Saying if moves like 2k6 PS2 is asinine and false.
