Man...take this RPG stuff to Grand Theft Auto.

I don't have no time for cause and effect. I just want to play ball.

Who told them this was a good idea?
THIS IS THE QUESTION: if i get fired, i must change team ? My carrer is over ?
Oh my good this is terrible !!!! No no nooooo

Another detail I'm curious about is players retiring. Let's say during the first year I have someone like Kobe or Tim Duncan who may retire after the season does my GM have any ability to keep them longer? Will they walk into my office and tell me they're considering retirement and will I have the option to persuade them to keep playing?

One thing I didn't like was that players always retired randomly (both in Madden and NBA 2K) and I felt many times that the player retired while they still had 2-3 years left of quality play. Hopefully retirements are presented in a more detailed structure in next-gen.

It definitely is interesting, so I am intrigued. Can you be a current gm or do I have to create one to run the team? I have no idea what My Player is, so apologies if it is like that. If so, I guess I understand the premise of having to create someone.

Props to the interviewer for rep'ing the Bears.

Is the potential system fixed? Do all teams finally have their correct staff listed, and can you promote Assistant coaches to Head coach? Has Total Sim Control been expanded? Does the salary cap still go up randomly by two each year? Has the rotation logic been fixed? Has the draft logic been fixed? Has the trade logic been fixed? Has the free agent logic been fixed? Has the team building logic been fixed? Does the sim engine now have a wider range of results? Are generic draft classes not the mess anymore that they have been for years?

These are the questions many Association players wanted answers to finally, before throwing in RPG elements.

1 for both is how I understand it.

I see RPG is going to be the new negative buzz word for next gen, lol

Assuming that you were fully engaged on association, you were already performing " role playing" duties

Can anyone explain me why the HELL will i be forced to create a fictional (and usually ugly) mygm character to play a franchise mode? what the hell is going on with this whole "let's create myself as a player/gm and play". I don't have the fantasy of being in the league as myself, neither i want to be a gm with skills and power boost (seriously wtf). i'm all for progress for my beloved association but please, keep the myplayer rpg stuff out of such a serious mode

Hahahahahahahahaha.
Really? I don't think we know yet if they addressed any of the things I listed.

So you can be GM of a team, get fired after All-Star break and have to hope you get picked up by another team? If not, then start over? It would suck not being able to see your team through an entire season.

I think My GM & My Player should be wrapped up in one mode and Association needs to be brought back for '15.

Ok, most of that actually sounded pretty cool to me. I only like controlling one team anyway. I just hope roles are fixed I remember in past 2k titles if you tried to have player roles you would have people constantly complaining and to be honest it got on my nerves and I just preferred it off after a while and never turned it back on. I haven't used them at all in the past few years. Hopefully, they aren't to much of a nuisance.

It looks to me like MYGM isn't player locked like I thought it might be and I'm very happy about that.

It also looks like you may still be able to do CPU vs CPU and watch your team rather than play as them (though I'm still not 100% sure about this yet) and I'm happy about that.

All in all, it looks pretty cool and sounds great I just hope that it all works properly and that we can still do cpu vs cpu.

Come on guys, this is NBA 2K, not Dark Souls, I doubt they will just fire you without ample warning about your screw-ups and not give the chance to fix them

I want to see how it goes first; if everything works as advertised and you can still do cpu vs cpu and watch your team play (because I don't always have time to sit down and play a game; usually do half and half) then I really have no problem with this at this point.

I understand that people are upset, but I thought people wanted a change with Association Mode?

We don't know if they made any of the changes most Association players wanted yet.

Hey EA and 2k! Get your RPGS out of my sports games!

I only watched the video and didn't dive into the comments yet, but I can't wait to play this mode. The only thing I am not liking is it seems like you will not be able to edit players. I would be so upset if you can't.

I know you can only play as 1 user which sucks because sometimes I would play association with 2 of my cousins where we would create our player and put them on a bad team to try and build them into a powerhouse and player locked on our players when we would face each other. We also bet like dollars for whoever won the championship.

I think if that was still in it would've been awesome with having to deal w/ personalities and etc now. Would make us feel even more like GMs. Well, I am just hoping you can edit players like CG. A lot of people do different things in Association modes so leave most of the stuff we had. A lot of us like to edit players to our liking. Just think it's a bad idea to take away control from the user.

I sort feel the same way. Here's how I look at it. I am not an NBA player. I have never played collegiate basketball. I am still athletic enough to ball on the courts with my buddies. I will never ever ball on the same team with Lebron, Kobe, Durant, Curry, Kent Bazemore, and even NBA bench warmers. Creating a fictional me and pretend to go up against the leagues' elites, and I'm creating a fictional universe that will never happen.

Simulation, is simulating what could happen in real life. Me, in the NBA is never going to happen. In association mode, multiple season mode, franchise mode, controlling a real team like the Golden State Warriors is "real."

On that note however, I will most likely be playing the MyGM mode. I'll most likely create the real GSW's general manager and go from there.
