Your gameday attire will be reflected on your MyPLAYER during matches. Games can be either 3v3 on half-court, or 5v5 on full-court. These will be played on a blacktop court to reflect the pick-up game style of basketball. The games will be to 21.
After being mad as hell for like 30 minutes after seeing these changes, I'm like F it...this was never the reason I got NBA2k games. Of course it would have been amazing to have a working Crew mode from 2k11 but I'm not sweating it, I see myself playing this mode a lot regardless.
I'm optimistic it'll be right on next gen, either way 2k gameplay has always been fun so 1 mode is not going to deter me from getting the game like some of these other guys (smh). Voice opinions but don't sht on the game because of 1 mode, come on where were you before it?.
Great point. Yeah I'm not happy with 5v5, but it was never the reason why I would drop $60 on the game.
**** you 2k. you just ruined all the hard work your pr guys have done hyping this game over the past few months with this crap. at least you were good enough to let us know before we waste money on this game. will be buying NBA live now. SMH
No 2K11 style crew mode is not a deal-breaker alone but it would have made the game infinitely playable. Without it MyPlayer/MyCareer gets stale real fast (few people actually stick with that mode through multiple seasons) and I don't see how blacktop crew won't get old real fast. I don't find it exciting to average 5 points a game with 2 rebounds.
Combine that with a general lack of responsiveness and follow-through on 2K's part the last few years and it just feels like another let-down.
I don't have a ton of time to play video games and 2K is usually the only game I play, but with the next-gen systems coming out and other really great games being released, I think a lot of people will rethink what game they want to invest their time in if 2K keeps failing to fulfill the expectations they have created.
On the bright side, Is that a new hairstyle I see in the picture for CAP? Has 2k finally added new heairstyles?
Pshhh.. I doubt it we asked for new hairstyles for years since 2k10 only got about 2 new ones don't get your hopes up. Same logos, tattoos and accessories since 2k10 and only added a hand full of new accessories and 2k doesn't want to be called lazy smh. I know there Lazy minded about stuff we want.
you know whats funny? I truly believe the only reason the mode isnt back the way gamers want it (i could careless for the mode. I dont want an MMO basketball game. Theres already a game for that) is because the same gamers clamoring and mad are the same gamers who hack and break the game. Just like they did in 2k11. Same gamers who cheat and capitalize on the VC glitch. This is what happens when people cheat fellas. Reprocussions for the actions of others that ruin it for everyone. Because if the game mode integrity wasnt wrecked in 2k11 the stupid mode would be here and all yall would be happy. Dont be mad at the devs be mad at your fellow gamers guys.
if you go back, one of the reasons is because it was being hacked,. compromising the integrity of the game... and who's doing that? it aint the devs. so be happy you got some form. i'd rather it be cut out completely.

I don't know. But one of their main reasons was hacked players. Seen it around the time 2K12 released and they were talking about it.
They did not speak a word about Crew mode missing until like a month after release, a lot of people were shocked to find that crew was gone when first putting the game in.
Blacktop for 21 points isn't really my thing, I'd rather have the full rulebook and quarters. Although I don't think taking your My Career player online is the way to go. Having another character that you could easily modify to switch positions, height and play style is what you can do in games like FIFA and NHL which also caps the player skill points to how much they've played and how skillful they've been. It would also mean that even if you had sunken time into the game you wouldn't have a 99 overall player but a maximum of like 85 or so.
That would be my ultimate hope for 2K's crew mode. I have no doubt if EA succeeds with their relaunch of NBA Live they will bring a crew mode similar to FIFA and NHL to NBA at which point I will be playing that if 2K doesn't have a similar one in place. I might still play Online Association, versus and offline modes in NBA 2K though, I don't see how Live can top 2K's gameplay for several years.
They did not speak a word about Crew mode missing until like a month after release, a lot of people were shocked to find that crew was gone when first putting the game in.
Right. That's why I appreciate them at least telling us all of the details about "Crews". The Reaction would've been even worst if they didn't say anything and people just bought the game thinking the real Crew Mode was in.
Funny how everyone who "doesn't care" about crew mode still comes into this thread to tell us what terrible people we are for not being happy with this farce of a mode. I don't believe I've gone into any Association threads and made disparaging remarks, I just don't understand if you really don't care then why are you here? Boredom? I will not be buying the game this year, I was in the minority that sees crew as the only thing that makes this game buyable to me..otherwise its just a weekend rent or redbox kinda game for me. No real replay value.
I was mad a few pages back because I'm part of an online community here in australia that has a bunch of true sim ball fans. Each year we got crews together of people on the same connection type and rolled around together. each year for about about 3 months before hand we would all get together and create our my players specifically for this mode, then work on a dream team based on the good of them team. we would then have everyone knowing their roles and playing like it was a team in some local amateur league and just enjoy playing ball. here in aus it's hard to find a group of guys who like sports games online and who you can get together for anything that isn't a shooter. so the 12 guys we had all looked forward to this mode and played it several times a week until the day the 2k11 servers got taken off and since then that community has fallen apart because of the lack of this mode.
online association doesn't work like it used to, and blacktop was not the place for a team with a pass first point guard and a defensive center to make home. all we have had for the past 2 years is team up, but unfortunately 1/3 games results in the entire other team leaving due to them getting a team or players they didn't want.
also we played on the ps3, so we never had the hackers everyone was complaining about so when they started penalising us for the downfalls of the 360 hardware it was just about enough to literally end friendships over a single mode.
believe it or not there are people out there who game for the social aspect of it rather than just to be the best or cheese. in a country outside america if you like certain sports it is hard to find friends in your town who a like the sport, b like the games and are any good enough to play with, and c have the same console as you. so getting a few guys together for something like this was a dream. But with this mode being to 21 and with no rules it just doesn't give me the fix i need. I have decide i will still get the game, but for myteam and the good work 2k has done there. but there will still be a hole in my gaming life.
I actually feel bad for you man. I truly do understand where you're coming from. As a fan of crew mode, i get it...It's not easy to find folks to run with, nonetheless folks that are good, and want to play their position. These past 2 years have been the worst basketball years in my gaming life. I've seen a few posts that make me sick talking about "That MrLeaderboards makes me cringe"
Or "MrLeaderboards is holding on to OLD Stats from 2k11"....
The funny thing with that is...EVERYONE who's been posting in these crew threads wants the OLD crew mode back....not this washed up, Blacktop 2.0 thats being served to the masses. Say what you want, but regardless of what you might think of me, the crew heads far outnumber me in regards to them wanting their mode back. I am just one person. This guy from australia is another....I can go down the list off the top of my head of people who i've seen post that want the old crew mode back minus the xbox 360 hacks.
and countless others...there's over 70 pages to the "CREW IS BACK" thread...everyone wants the old features back with some new things added of course. But to say that what we have so far is acceptable is a farce.
I have a question...Throughout last year, 2k was able to let gamers stay updated with the latest colorway shoes by nike, and Jordan brand. Also they kept us up to date with the latest Jerseys and Arenas. With that being said, I'm assuming its possible to just update crew mode and give us a crew arena and make it 4 quarters with timeouts and all, am i right? If thats not the case then his whole ploy of 2k having new servers so they can have more "control" of whats going on is pointless. LD2k, is getting our old crew mode back via an Over-the-air update a reality? Any response to this would be appreciated.
if it doesn't return for next gen, i am without a doubt taking my business to nba live. been jerked around way too long, at this point my mentality is f 2k. they tell us crew is back, and give us blacktop 1.5.... unacceptable. all the gameplay improvements in the world won't bring crew back.
yea, banned from the leaderboards is thick as a brick, and i can't imagine how anyone can feel good about themselves when they're a HACKER, but at this point i'm past that. it's all about the fact that crew isn't gonna be in the game again to me, just an abomination of a move by 2k.
