There are so many problems in that video - from accessories being wrong, uniform colors being off and old player models being reused (Chandler, Stat), to things that actually affect gameplay - that have yet to be addressed after years of customers pleading with the company to do so.

2K11 was a great game and it was precisely because back then, 2K was in a fight with NBA Live for dominance in the bball video game market, but ever since Live went down, the 2K series has gotten lazy. Madden was better when they had the Gameday and NFL2K series pushing them, but when EA wrapped up the NFL license, that's when Madden went downhill and they've yet to recover. It's unfortunate the same is happening here.
Yeah keep telling yourself that....then when next gen NBA 2k comes out it will be like "OMG LOOK AT THE GRAPHICS! THE JERSEY COLORS ARE RIGHT!" "I'M SO SORRY FOR DOUBTING YOU 2k!"

sheesh...it's getting old that people keep saying that 2k is turning into EA but yet people keeps saying thank god that Live is back...smh....

I just love these knee jerk reactions....once people get there hands on the game its a different tune....forum sucks here whenever a vid comes out...

Yeah all of Kobe's teammates should've mobbed him at the end! Group celebrations should be added!

I thought the Spacing looked a lot better. When Kobe would post the other players would clear out and let him operate.

Ok, I'm sorry, but this video just seemed staged. I said the same thing last year as well when they did this.

When Chris (LD2K) had that turnover that led to Ronnie taking the lead before Kobe's game winner, that was so bogus. He could have easily let Nash dribble out the clock instead of throwing a pass in the paint where he couldn't see what was going on accurately due to the camera angle.

It was planned out.

Oh, and the game looks very similar to NBA 2K13.

Just my thoughts...

It's even funnier how they just come out of the woodwork just to comment. They didn't even bother reading Jwills impression thread. He even says that graphically its 2k13 but the gameplay pretty much surpasses 13's....but yeah next gen is right around the corner so why not just wait for the info for that?

That's where the battle begins with 2k vs EA marketing for next gen Bball. October will be an interesting month here in the forums.

I could care less about accessories and uni colors, im all about gameplay. Only real problems I have is that the main problems I had with the last game are still their. 3s being easy and EASY buckets by the big men.

They said they are playing on SS/ Sim..... Ok, imagine that gameplay on Pro/ Default. Doesn't look like it will be really fun on quick match. HOWEVER, it does look like alot of problems I had were addressed. But when you make layups by Chandler right by the rim EASY with a man in front of him with no angle and 3s are dropping at a ridiculous rate, it makes a top baller as my self not want to play it.

I'll just wait til next gen but I encourage everybody to support 2k this gen if you don't got plans for next gen. Looks solid but I don't see why they couldn't just fix the lead pass D issue with 2k11 on ball D (Yeah they bobble it sometimes but 2k could make it better so the D doesn't slide out the way).

2k All day, CANT WAIT for a 2k Football : )

I think it's going to be depressing myself. Some people's expectations are WAY out of whack if they're disappointed because current gen 2K14 isn't making them relive memories of their Christmas morning as a 12yr old. I shudder to think what they expect next gen to do, especially when there isn't a next gen game that's been announced that's been truly mind-blowing. I predict lots of disappointment. And anger. But they won't blame themselves for setting their expectations too high. Funny some people begged for video just so they could proclaim it's the reason they won't be buying the title.

I didn't watch all of the video myself; I think the guys had to be careful to play a certain way or get lambasted for not playing "sim" enough or cheesing - even though people were going to make those complaints anyway. I miss some of the more drawn out animations of the past but I do like the improved player interaction. I don't get the complaints about the game's presentation, when they already were head and shoulders above what anyone else is doing. This is the one fanbase I'd think wouldn't expect 2K to need to reinvent themselves every year, but it's the one fanbase that seems to expect it.

The perimeter and paint contact alone will justify my purchase of 2k14. Loving the fact that a lot of paints shots were disrupted by hands up positioning. In 2k13 a hands up animation only resulted in the defender being pushed back or slid out of the way like a chess piece. A lot of subtle improvements I see (dribbling/rebound/defensive animations). Anyone who thought this game would look drastically different from 2k13 well...I don't know what to tell you ..LOL. People are justified in their disappointment though about some of the face scans not changing for some players as I feel that is the least 2k could have done graphically for current gen. I don't know how easy/hard it is to update faces on current gen, but based on what I've seen so far there are some players they should not have stood pat on. True judgement comes once we actually play the game though and I look forward to doing that.

He's asking why did 2K taunt with next gen. Cause I think everyone loved big mouths open and a dunk.

I don't remember many people complaining about how overpowered the three ball was for any of the gamescom footage, or any other videos, but now that the guys who have time and experience with the game get on the sticks and have ONE good game it's concluded that threes for every game for every player will be overpowered.... Ronnie couldn't even make easy shots with melo. Hope you didn't think it was because of the difficulty settings, haha. People often forget release timing plays a factor as well, the WHOLE game is not meant to simulate "reality" whatever that means to every person. There's a HUMAN element to the game that allows you to affect the outcome of the game...

Realistically games like that one happen sometimes, we won't know if any things "overpowered" until we see 20-30 games on those same settings.... But y'all gonna assume regardless. Clearly they were both playing casually, no matter what settings you use, even HOF, each person changes the experience, you'd be highly upset if it didn't matter how you released or if you were wide open or not and the game predetermined that nba averages say you aren't allowed to go above "set" percentage because its not "sim" 2K gives you control, not too much and not too little.... I don't mind it. As for presentation I didn't expect it to look like a different game, NBA looks pretty much the same every year, minor changes year in and out. Some I like some I don't. That's just the way it is, can't please everybody.

Has a sportscenter type of presentation and even though it's a step up from the Jay Z look, it still isn't great.

I can see this year people will be complaining about how the defense is too overpowered.

Melo blocking shots? I don't even want to begin talking about how terribly inaccurate the defense will be this year. Guarantee it.

I was SUPER happy with the post shots actually FALLING...overall looks much more smooth. Snd definitely loved the review after the game...and all of thr content I'm the paint...can't wait to see what next gen has to offer

# 77 Vni @ 09/07/13 02:42 AM
Melo averages half a block per game so it happens.

like some noob above told me... have you played the game?

Game looks fine to me. Tons of baseless assumptions on both sides of the coin. Seriously? We're bitching about Johnson and Farmer now? Considering I played a game of team up earlier this year where Andrew "Bootleg Kobe" Goudelock dropped 47 points, shooting 74% from the field(YEAH, ANDREW GOUDELOCK), I think we're fine. One game does not equal the end all be all of this series....

...but then again, I didn't think the series was too broken outside of Euro Threes, Spin moves and Unblockable dunks. I admit, I'm not super sim. I enjoy playing basketball, working the ball to an open man or a high percentage shot, but I'm willing to suspend disbelief for a few instances based on the fact its a game.

So far what I see is this: It's a basketball game I loved the hell out of, with some key fixes on Defense and a few extra bells and whistles. I wasn't expecting ridiculous updates given the fact that I know how consoles handle(anyone remember the difference between live 95' and live 96'? wasn't much), but what I have seen pleases me greatly. It's everyone's own particular taste and prerogative, I suppose, but 2k will get my money.
